Just noticed the other day that the door handle on my GTI squeaks when pulled, especially when done slowly. The only one that does it is the driver's side. I'm guessing it needs some kind of lubricant?

View 1 RepliesI have a 2008 Phaeton v8. The keyless entry feature on the exterior door handles has stopped working. The car neither locks or unlocks using the keyless entry feature. I tried using accessing the car with different key Fobs to no avail.
View 2 RepliesEver since I painted my car my outer door handles have not worked properly. Once you open the door using the inner door handle then the outer one works fine...lock the doors and the outer handle becomes almost useless. I say almost useless because if you kind of pull it just right it seems to catch and work. How to remedy it? Really tired of using this auto window roll down to reach in and open the door.

View 5 RepliesThe interior door handles that is. Not the actual chrome but the black plastic that is made to be held when closing the door. Damn I hate it. Gives the car such a cheap feeling.

I have only this on the rear, but i can move this only in the direction of that arrow, and only for 90 c, here's the pic ....
As I have the same problem as many other owners of B6 with the bad coat of paint over the interior door handles, window buttons and etc. So I decided to bring them in for a fresh paint but first I need to dismantle them, and the problem is I'm not pretty sure how. So how to do this.

View 1 RepliesBoth the driver and pass. side inside door handles (with the window switches) have the thin outer 'rubberized' layer peeling off on my tan interior 2006. Short of replacing them ,what other options are there? Wrap it all in some kind of matching tape? What kind? If i have to replace them, what kind of costs and complexity are we looking at?
Other than that, at over 120k miles, this baby continues to be a dream to drive
Portions of my console have started to peel along with the driver side handles. Car had less than 20k miles on it when the peeling started.
View 7 RepliesSo when I first took the car home, I could unlock the car by touch the rear door handles and it would unlock all the doors for the car. However, my car wanted to update, and after doing this, this feature does not seem to work anymore. I can still touch the drivers side and front passenger side to unlock the doors, however, i am no longer able to unlock the car using the rear doors.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2013 Santa FE 2.0T Limited with the Smart Key setup. Since new, when I would approach the vehicle and the key was within a yard of the door handle, the small lights in the door handle would come on so we could see the handle. A couple of weeks ago the vehicle battery died (again) and now those lights will only come on once the button is pushed.
The dealer had the vehicle for 90 minutes and could not find any thing wrong other than the Welcome Light was turned off in the center info console from the dead battery episode. I checked it again last night and the proximity lights still do not work. How tp get the proximity lights working again?
Yesterday I found that I could't lock the Phaeton by pressing the button on the outside door handles .
I could only lock/unlock from the key fob . Is there something I can do to resolve this short of going to a service dept ??
My windows wont work and my interior door handles ALL need replacing. How exactly can I do this? I had to replace one a while back when the windows worked but I am stumped as to how I am going to attempt this. The only way I can exit my truck is to get someone to open it from outside or climb out the rear window (I'm a thick female and this is annoying/embarrassing).
View 2 RepliesChild safety switches on both doors are NOT activated, and both doors open OK when exterior handle is pulled. Jiggling the child safety switches does not resolve the problem. Removed interior handles thinking that perhaps some plastic tab had broken off, but both appear ok. Pulling on the linkage bar that connects handle to latching mechanism inside the door does not open the door. Indeed, the linkage bar won't move despite tugging.
View 1 RepliesMy car got into an accident and the driver side door needed to be replaced. My wife picked the car up from the shop, but i guess she did not think anything wrong with the car. My problem is as follows:
When I go to grab the handles of my car (driver, passenger, trunk) with my key fob in close proximity (pocket), instead of the double beep signalling an unlock of the doors, there are multiple beeps (maybe 5 sets of double beeps) along with the emergency flashers flashing.
My outside, driver side front door handle is busted. I was about to order a new one from Rock Auto, and came across this-

What is the difference here? Is something different on the early 99's?
The drivers side and passenger side doors will not unlock using my key fobs, nor by touching the door handles. The only thing that happens when I touch the front passenger door handle is that the back doors will unlock. I have to enter my car through the back doors, and unlock the front doors manually. Also, by touching the passenger door handle, I get a series of beeps (3-5). What may be causing this, and how to fix it?
View 2 RepliesMy driver's side and passenger side door handles squeak when using them to close or open the door. Its kind of an annoying issue which surprised me due to the quality and fit and finish on the rest of the car. The door handles do NOT make noise when driving the car, only when I grab and squeeze and close or open the door. I will be taking it to my dealer's service centre at my earliest convenience to see if they can remedy the issue.
