Noticed my 5 week old MK7 GTI is making squeaky noises on the driver's side when turning left at slow speeds. What this could be? Occurs intermittently, not all the time. This is a leased vehicle, would this be covered by warranty?
View 7 RepliesI have a 2012 gti with 29k miles. Now I changed to coil overs for a shot amount of time however I shortly went back to stock for comfort. For the past few thousand miles I have been getting this creaking sound when turning left parked or slow speeds. I thought it might be strut mounts but its only left and isn't a clunking. I have three videos of the sounds so you can see what I'm talking about. I have heard of the infamous cv boot problem but if you look at the last video you can see the Cv boot looks in good shape..

I have a 2003 Jetta Wagon with 49000 miles on it. I noticed that when turning at slow speeds (like taking turns in a parking lot) I hear a klunk coming from the area of the left front wheel, and I think I feel it through the steering wheel. Yesterday I was going around a hairpin turn at a shopping mall and heard two clunks. Driving straight it doesn't happen.
View 8 RepliesSo... Took my car into a tire shop (tire pros) to get a screw pulled out of my front left tire... And after they finish the job - the guy comes up to me and says "your front brakes don't have much life left." I said, "I know I'm planning to change them in the next couple of weeks"...
He then said, "well I think your sensor just went off, when I pulled the car around.." I said "okay", got in the car and drove off - no brake light what so ever.
Anyways, A few hours later when pulling my car around the corner on the way home - I noticed that I am all of the sudden getting a random scraping sound from the front-right rotor anytime I turn the well all the way to the left at slow speeds...
I'm not too worried about it - just want to make sure these guys aren't trying to sabotage my car! The only thing that kills me, is that I didn't have the sound before and no all of the sudden I do? I'm assuming they somehow slightly moved the pad, causing it to somehow squeal - I'm just not exactly sure what they did...
My 2006 santa fe drives great,,,except now it makes a low squeaky noise when parking and turning the steering left or right...it does not make that noise while driving at any speed in a line or on bumps...the strut top plates? can i just grease that?

View 10 RepliesJust purchased a brand new 2012 GTI Autobahn. I can't notice the AFS headlights swivel left to right at slow speeds but at start up seems to work when I turn on the headlights. Is this normal? I had the dealer check it and they said it works fine. They tested it through their laptop and it works but I can't seem to notice the swivel when I steer the wheel.

It only happens when I'm turning hard left and going slow. it may happen only when I'm going slow because it's the only time i turn the wheel that much. it's not too loud and sounds like it's coming from the right front wheel well, somewhere around there.
It started about 3 days ago and is getting much more frequent in the last day. It now is happening every time i turn the wheel hard left, and occasionally when I turn right.I have a loose bumper right front also. it's going into the body shop next week to further diagnose by elimination.
QUESTION: is the car safe to drive if there's the possibility of a loose strut mount? i don't know too much about the suspension assembly.
So, simple question. I have a squeaky driver side door.
I'm interested in some color matching door grease. I've always hated the black gunky door grease. Why? Cause I'm OCD. I saw on the MKVI R [on CW anyways] their door hinge grease was color matched.
If this is too absurd, any recommendations for removing/cleaning the grease currently on the door hinge and replacing it? It comes off as straight forward.
I have a 2010 LS460 AWD with 42k miles and notice when I am making a medium to wide angle turn at parking lot speeds the front wheels make an intermittent metallic clicking/ticking noise that can be clearly heard when the windows are down and stereo is off. The noise can be heard when turning in either direction, driving forward or in reverse, and both accelerating and slowing down. Doesn't seem to happen when I'm turning the steering wheel while the car is stationary. Dealer suspects noise is due to dry contact areas between pads, calipers, and anti rattle springs and wants to perform a brake service for $330 before they're willing to investigate further (car still under warranty till end of the year). If noise is brake-related shouldn't it only occur when I'm applying the brakes? What should I do?
View 7 Replies2011 Hyundai sonata. My issues is that there seems to be a snapping/brushing noise when turn my wheel either left or right within under 5 MPH. Some people at work stated it could be the CV bolt? Not sure if that is correct, or something else. I am 117K miles, never have replaced anything suspension related.
View 11 RepliesLong story short I've had these coils on my car for a little of 2000 miles and about a month, at low speeds I hear squeaky from the rear of the car. I know its coming from the shocks I've checked all of the bushings and lubricated them. Its getting very annoying.

This happens only going over about 40-50 and only when i turn the steering wheel like an inch to the left. To better clarify it doesn't rub while turning left going down a slope.

I've read several people in the forum who has encountered this. I read different remedies but the most common one is to have the CV boots lubricated.
I have a 2014 Wolfsburg with almost 5k miles. I am really now worrying about my water pump crapping out on me but I heard this grinding sound yesterday.
I have a 2004 Honda CR-V, 100k, just did its 90k maintenance (a little late) and also had the ball joints replaced. Brought back from the mechanic and heard clicking sound when turning wheel hard left or hard right, only at low speeds, usually when parallel parking or simply sitting in park, turning wheel back and forth. Right back to the mechanic: they checked it out, re-lubricated everything, drove it, said it was OK. I got it home, still clicking. Safe to drive this weekend? It's back to the shop on Monday.

View 2 RepliesMy steering wheel has a squeak when turning either left or right slightly from center.. I usually notice the squeak while stationary or parking. It's louder and more noticeable when it's hot outside.
Listening carefully, it seems to be coming from inside the steering column, not from linkages or joints from under the car. Looking for a exploded diagram of the steering column components, perhaps it's just a U joint (tilt?) that needs some lubing to make it quiet.
Noticed the front suspension makes some "flexing" noises when turning the wheel during slow speed maneuvers? (e.g. during parallel parking). The best way I can describe it is it sounds like the suspension is being compressed as I turn the wheel as the car has almost come to a complete stop. (yes I know we should avoid turning the wheel when stationary). I realize it's probably normal. I'll just add it to the list of other noises my car likes to make. My car is bone stock btw.
View 2 RepliesI have this subtle creaking noise while steering to the left at low speeds, i.e. getting in/out of a parking spot. I have H&R Street coils and haven't had this problem until recently. I brought it into a mod-friendly dealer and they said it's the factory sway bar rubbing up against the coil-overs. They recommended going with a compatible H&R front sway bar. Are they positioned differently? Maybe I'm missing something.
