I am replacing my front passenger side door on my 2000 Jetta GLX. I have been searching online for detailed instructions on how to do this, but have turned up empty handed.
View 1 RepliesI have an 03 GLI and am having a little issue. My passenger front door won't latch. The tumbler, for lack of a better word, is in the proper position and swings freely; but it never catches. If I use a screwdriver I can push it all the way back; but there's not so much as a click when it gets all the way back and just swings back out.

I just got an LED interior kit, but haven't got it in the mail yet, so it is still on the stock bulbs from the factory, is it a dual filament bulb that just needs replacing?
I've got a "clunk" in my front passenger side suspension. I'm running stock struts with H&R sport springs that I put in about 10,000-15,000kms ago. The clunk is inconsistent and seems to only happen in the parking lot when I'm backing out of a stall. When I pull forward, I get a couple clunks coming from that side? Could this be tie-rod?

Well I went to spin the passenger side wheel and I noticed that I can tilt it back and forth slightly, I checked the other side and couldn't do the same thing. I just got both wheel bearings replaced by a shop and I'm hoping its not the hub. This is just a CV joint or bushings or if it's actually the hub???
I'm not sure if my car is an R32 but it is a mkIV GTI V6. There is a small radiator in front of the front passenger wheel and air is ducted from the front air scoops into the radiator. What is it cooling? I searched for a transmission radiator but nothing came up. I can only speculate that it is to cool engine oil or transmission oil. Is that correct and if so what is it called?
View 2 RepliesI recently noticed a humming noise coming from the passenger side on my Mazda Protege 2000 ES . I suspected it was the water pump, so I took the car to my mechanic. He inspected the coolant reservoir and it was empty. He also checked the noise and the area were the pump is, and told me that the water pump had to be replaced.
My dad told me that his 1994 Sentra had the water pump replaced but none of these things had to be done and that it was unnecessary. But then I thought, every car is different.
I was in shock with how much the repair would cost, so he then gave me another quote with just the timing belt and water pump replacement for $503, but this time he said that he will not give me any warranty for the repairs because of the tensioner.
Just bought a 2005 accent yesterday. I new the bulb was gone, when I lifted the bottom noticed that the battery is so close to the lights I can't get my hand down there. Do I need to remove my battery to replace this bulb? Also what is the model # of the bulb?

Now I have used the search with a lot of success but for some reason I haven't been able to find out how to get to the bolts for the side mirrors. How do you get to the bolts to replace the side mirrors ?. I am also sure I could figure it out in time but I would rather not break anything trying to force parts off.
View 2 RepliesSo I took my GTI in for TSBs, new wipers, the door seal creak and new wheels (old ones were not painted behind the spokes) - when it was returned to me, I noticed (after I got home) the red door stripe on the passenger side would not light up. At one point they had taken that door panel off to see if it was creaking instead of the seals (which of course, it was not) and I assume that they forgot to connect something, or unplugged something accidentally. Any other suggestion, like a magical fuse I can replace? I so don't want to travel 60 miles back to this guy. And not only did they not fix the seals, the noise is worse than before, I think from them messing with the doors. But anyway, I'm looking for possible DIY fixes.
View 8 RepliesJust in case the dealer wants to be a jerk and skip fixing the rattles I have on my car, just curious about creaking noises coming from the front doors. I have one that is pretty bad on the passenger side door. It sounds like a small creek, it happens when i go through roads that are not perfect. The noise goes away if I push against the door panel, not so much when I yank it in. I currently have a broken driver seat too, so hard to pinpoint if I have the exact same problem on the driver side front door, but the creaking is the same.
View 14 RepliesAfter traveling on the prehistoric roads (99% of the roads) in DC that have not been maintained since the Stone Age, the front passenger door is rattling (or something in it/within the vicinity) at only 3000miles. It looks like this happened after I started driving on the beltway. The beltway has less potholes than the prehistoric roads BUT on the beltway, you'd be hitting those potholes at 65mph.
View 7 RepliesI have problems with passenger side front door. It won't lock/unlock when holding the hand on the handle or when pressing the button on the handle. Everything is fine on driver side and when using the lock button from the arm rest on the same driver side of Prius. It is also OK when I unlock/lock the car with the FOB.

The passenger side front door lock (electronic) stopped working a while back.
I fixed the drivers side issue when replacing the speakers in the car (driver side would stick and sometime not move by hand).
What is the best way to determine if the door lock actuator is dead or something else is wrong?
The front passenger car door just closed and wouldn't open from either side. It is not locked, and lock is functional. Nothing budges.
Husband uses this car as a rural mail delivery vehicle and drives it from the front passenger side. On the route today, it failed to open for him during the route -- very inconvenient to move all that mail to get in and out.
He needs to take the inside door panel off but doesn't see how with having the door open.
I Have a 2000 vw jetta 2.0 that will not start with drivers side door open, no problems with other doors. I checked and cleaned the ground wires.

Long ago, almost 10 years I built a 2001 GTI VR6 turbo that I absolutely loved, but college funds forced that sale. Driving just about everything I have always wanted another 12v to play with, but they are getting harder to find that are not totally molested.
Anyways, I came across a 2001 Jetta VR6, one owner car, 100% un touched, all maintenance records, and only 79,000 miles! I had to buy it. Only a couple minor dings in the passenger door I will mend out down the road, otherwise the car is darn near mint condition.

I have koni seyup and my car is lowered all the way down all around. my front passenger side sits lower then the driver side.. I also have camber plates in the front. What u think could be the problem.
View 2 RepliesI just noticed on my front passenger door, when I pull the handle, the top of the door is rubbing against the rubber. It seems to be shifted a little down, especially on the top left corner of the door. What's going on with it. Doesn't open as smooth as the door once did.
View 6 RepliesMy front passenger door will not unlock when i activate the locks from the driver's side door- all other locks (driver's door, back seat, trunk) do unlock when activated (from both inside and out). When I try to use the locking feature on the passenger door it does not respond, nor does it respond the the key fob. The only way I can unlock my passenger door is manually. Is this something I can fix at home?
View 8 RepliesThe tweeter and the speaker in my passenger side front door have this awful hissing sound coming from them. The sound gets louder and quieter with driving. Could it be a lose connection at the headunit or would it be to each speaker? The speakers are stock by the way.
