My drivers side door doesn't line up perfectly, it sits a little lower the farther you go towards the rear and requires a little bit more energy to close than the other one. Is there any easy way to adjust this?
View 3 RepliesI have earlier had problems with my driver's outside door handle which now and then doesn't open the door for a week or two, but then suddenly starts to work as normal again for long periods.
Yesterday one of my children had grabbed the outside door handle while I was operating the remote to unlock the car. After that the outside door handle doesn't work any more. I find it unbelieveable that VW designs a system which doesn't gracefully handle a grabbed handle while operating the central lock.
Anyhow, I took off the outer bottom window seal of the door and immediately saw the brown wire coming from the lock assembly. It is supposed to be straight, but this was loose. Look at this image (wire mirrored from the window):

Most internet tips tells me to slam the door a number of times until the wire returns to its position and all is well - probably until the next time the same thing happens...
I have two scenarios, my driver's door handle which doesn't work now and then, and the rear side door which immediately stopped working after the handle was pulled while I unlocked the car.
In the first scenario I aussume that it would be ok to lube or clean the wire? But what is the cure for the second scenario? Also can I somehow access the other end of the wire (at the lock mechanism end) without completely dismantle the door?
Just picked up my Avalon and the drivers side front door doesn't want to shut. It will latch but won't close all the way. If you give it a hard slam it will. All other doors shut with a gentle push.
View 2 RepliesStarting a few weeks ago, my drivers side door of my 2007 Camry doesn't unlock either with the keypad or by using the button within the car. Someone broke something off in the lock eons ago so now I'm just climbing over the passengers side which stinks. This isn't happening all the time, usually just when I'm in a rush But it's happening more frequently.
View 3 RepliesWe purchased our 2009 Accent 4 door used about 3 years ago and it came with only one keyless remote. Last week we began having problems with the keyless remote sometimes not locking the driver's door. It usually locks the other 3 doors on the first press of the button, but it usually takes 2 or more presses to get it to lock the driver's door. It always unlocks the driver's door on the first press. I replaced the battery in the keyless remote fob, and opened and closed the hood and trunk with no effect. We still have the original battery in the car.

View 7 RepliesI have a 2007 Accent SE Hatchback. The drivers door will lock but will not unlock with the remote. The drivers door locks and unlocks with the inside door switch and locks and unlocks with the key. The passenger door and hatch unlock on the 2nd click with the remote. The only issue with the locking system is that the drivers door will not unlock with the remote.

View 19 RepliesSo it started when the auto up DID work, and when it closed, it automatically came back down. In order to close the window, I had to use the switch in the non-auto mode. Now, the auto up and down don't work.
View 11 RepliesSo I've noticed a problem. When I go to lock my doors with the keyfob my drivers side door doesn't lock. Manually I can turn the key and lock it. Now what's weird is my drivers door will lock when I press the lock button on the inside of the door(the button on the handle). So I'm pretty sure the actuator isn't bad since the door will lock via the inside button, maybe I'm wrong though? Not really a super bad problem but annoying nonetheless.

I'm interested in some color matching door grease. I've always hated the black gunky door grease. Why? Cause I'm OCD. I saw on the MKVI R [on CW anyways] their door hinge grease was color matched.
If this is too absurd, any recommendations for removing/cleaning the grease currently on the door hinge and replacing it? It comes off as straight forward.
2000 Jetta 2.0L bought used with broken key fob and separate valet key.
Problem: I have always had problems with the electrical system since a little after I bought the car. For example, after unlocking the driver's side door with either key, and starting the car, my hazards would flash and alarm would sound (car thinks I'm trying to steal it). I fixed that by disabling the alarm.
Just recently however, I locked my car as usual (pressed the button on drivers side door locking all doors except for drivers side and then manually locking the drivers side door). When going back to my car the next morning, I put the key in drivers side door and turned--- NOTHING. The key (both fob and valet) turns both ways but the drivers side door will not unlock and I am stuck getting locked out frequently.
Just recently in the last month (owned the car since aug 07) I have noticed large amounts of wind noise around the driver side door. At first I thought it was on just windy days, then it started to get worse every day. I'm taking it in to vw to check the seals around the door, but I'm not real certain this is the issue since after visibly inspecting the car the seals look pretty solid
View 12 RepliesThere is a creaking sound coming from my driver's side door only when turning right. It sounds like it's specifically coming from the strike plate or latch area. I've pinpointed it to the door because it doesn't happen when I slightly open it but leave it hinged.
View 15 RepliesI just picked up an R32 a couple weeks ago, and I've noticed that occasionally when using the remote door locks that the driver's door refuses to lock/unlock. When locking, the alarm doesn't arm as I assume the car doesn't think the door is closed. When unlocking, well, it just doesn't unlock. In both cases if I use the key in the door, everything works nicely.

View 20 RepliesI just replaced both driver and passenger side window regulators (they were about to fail but still worked) Prior to replacing them, my driver side door had a faint, yet repetitive rattle. I was under the impression a new window regulator would fix the issue. Needless to say, it didn't solve the rattle problem (though the windows are now firmly in place). I suspect it's coming from within the door panel itself. I've peeked inside the door panel without fully removing it and could find nothing. Maybe it's something loose that needs to be secured? I swear it's like Chinese water torture hearing that rattle and it's driving me nuts.
Edit: Holding the glass down, or holding/pushing on the door panel does nothing at all.
So my brand new 2012 2.5 with 143 miles already has an issue. Having a single pop sound from somewhere near the drivers door, maybe the seat, or door frame? Also I think it mostly happens when accelerating from a stop. Maybe around 3-10 mph. Pretty sure its an interior thing, not drivetrain related.
View 18 RepliesI heard this noise on my mkIV GTI as well. When I unlock and open the car in the AM I hear a strange "whirring" sound. It sounds like a cell phone vibrating on a hard surface. I don't think anything is broken since it has done this on two different cars. I just want to know what it is. The sound happens as soon as I open the driver-side door.
View 4 RepliesI finally got rid of my 2.0 and upgraded to the Vr6 5-speed. The other day my driver side rear door just came open. I tried closing it but it just bounce back open. I tried those methods of YouTube to see if that works but still nothing. Now i had to tie my door shut and experience my car not being locked completely. My alarm would go off and everytime i drive my car, i have to deal with that annoying ding the car makes when the doors are open.
