I live 3 hours from the nearest VW dealer and the fuel cap light has been coming on randomly although it is secure, and yesterday I filled up at my normal station, I filled it up to the first click on the pump and fuel started pouring out from underneath the car I probably lost over 1/2 gallon. I did have the fuel tank recall done maybe 7k miles ago and all has been well.

This is the second time this happened to me. First time was about two weeks ago where i was just driving and the car stalled. Tried to start but it sounded like it just wasn't getting fuel. Brand new battery, terminals are clean) Got it started and it was revving high like a cold start, normal but why after driving for 30 mins? EPC light came on also which was strange along with the CEL, a buddy checked the code and it was for the secondary air injection pump. (I have not had that go off in a while. Code po4011 secondary air injection. Had this issue a while ago with that code when i did a short ram intake. Tuner cleared it so i can pass emissions. ) Now today it died about 2 miles from my house. Same thing but no CEL. EPC light came on and car was revving high, luckily 3 cars behind my buddy was there and he give me a push into the gas station. Once again it wanted to start but i felt like no fuel. waited a few minutes and it started right up again until it almost died in my drive way. Cluster comes on when it dies. ignition is good.
My big question is the stalling part and the EPC light coming on, then the car revving like it is a cold start but not stopping? and i need this car to be working.
I have a 2001 Passat wagon V6 with 4 motion, and the generator light keeps coming on randomly while driving. When it comes on, the power steering stops working. Once I turn off and on the car, the light goes out and the car runs normally again. I have replaced the serpentine belt, tensioner and pulleys, and they are all fine.
View 2 RepliesGTI two weeks old. I've been listening to a loud chirp or two anytime I go over any bump or surface irregularity that seemed to be coming behind the passenger seat somewhere. So... I lowered the back seats and it disappeared. Put one seat up, still no squeak, Both seats up, no squeak. Worth trying if you have same problem.
View 10 RepliesIve got a '94 ranger with the 8 plugs and more often than not while driving and sometimes when it first starts, the cel comes on and immediately I notice a lil rough running and lack of power. Also my milage has dropped since this has started. Plugs, wires, o2 sensors, not to familiar with my gas saver. I love it cause I can just get in it and go. With twice the fuel milage as my bi truck!
View 14 RepliesThe past couple of months my ABS light has been coming on randomly. It comes on after several minutes (or hours sometimes) of driving then stays on. I wrote it off as a bad sensor but now, even when under light braking, if I hit even a small bump in the road, I can feel the ABS activating in the pedal. Seems like more than a sensor to me. I know I have a front wheel bearing going out but how would that be related? 2007 F150 5.4 2wd
View 1 RepliesMY 2000 300M has a problem with the fuel gauge. When over 1/2 a tank and just under the full mark the gauge will randomly drop down to empty and turn on the low fuel light then go back to the correct reading and will do this over and over again. my mechanic has looked at the car believes it's the sending unit. Just wanted a second opinion before I spent the money for a fuel pump module for the car.
View 7 RepliesThe power locks started locking themselves randomly while I'm driving. First, the CARGO DOOR AJAR warning light comes on, then the locks click. They don't unlock, just lock. I've hit the unlock button, then they lock by themselves again. The dome light was also coming on, until I pressed the DOME LIGHT OVERRIDE button.

Will clear it and will randomly come back on. Truck seems to be running fine. No issues engine. Bad sensor? Or bad injector? Maybe way to test?
View 1 RepliesI have an 05 escape xls 4cyl that has started acting up in the past 2 weeks. The vehicle has 52k on the clock and has no other issues but what im posting about.
Heres the problem: Vehicle starts fine every time you turn the key. It does not stall or idle rough when engaging the trans mission so I've concluded it has nothing to do with the torque converter. Once the car is running the vehicle will shut off randomly with the THEFT light coming on. I played with it for about 2 hours and have found that it will do this idling in Park, while in Reverse, and while in drive. The vehicle also will shut off while I am going down the road and every time it does the THEFT light is coming on as the problem starts. It does appear that it only happens when the accelerator is not depressed and will sometimes stay running if you hit the Gas Pedal as soon as it starts to happen.
I have tried using another key figuring maybe a transponder is bad...No dice does the exact same thing. I have also noted that i do hear single quiet (tock) when the vehicle shuts off coming from the drivers side lower engine compartment.
Need to know of an issue that causes the stability control light to come on for no apparent reason? I took it to Ford, they said no codes found and they replaced an ABS sensor, less than 5 miles after leaving, sitting in stop and go slow moving traffic it comes on again. I've been taking pictures to show them the randomness of this and they said they would look at it again.
Some mornings it comes on the when I leave and stays on and may be on after I get in after work (before I even move out of the parking spot), some days it's only in the morning and not on after work, some days it's on after work, some days it's not on at all but that has been rare that I don't see it at least once during the day, just seems odd and random so I suspect an issue.
I have a 2012 f250 been in the shop 4 times for the traction control light just coming on randomly and staying on. they have flashed it changed something in the steering column forgot name of that and changed some sensors out. still does it. I think its a bad connection or bare wire is what I keep saying to them cause it only does it on rough roads and when its wet.
View 4 RepliesI own a 2002 GTI 1.8T, it only has 69000 miles on it, fully loaded, everything but power seats. So far I have had major issues on it. At first the car was randomly turning off and the EPC light came on, engine light is on and airbag light is on.
So far the car has a new speed sensor that fixed the EPC light. Engine light came on I plugged the computer in and code came up to replace the temperature and ignition sensor, took care of that, but light is still on. Airbag light is on for some time and Autobarn wants 150$ to check it but not fix it, and im not going to be doing that.
I also have new front brakes, new CV joints, and new tires on it.
The issues are at hand: If i am at a stop light the car will just turn off randomly, I can turn it back up but I want to stop that part. Sometimes the radio will go off and turn on by itself at random times.
When I am making a hard left, I hear a jolt in the back like something pushed the car and the car will die. Just yesterday I was driving, the ABS and Traction light came on and the back tires screeched and the car just floored by itself.
Yesterday the window did not want to go down and fell out of the socket and currently i have tape on the window to hold it up, i can live with that.
When in the Auto Light mode, my lights sometimes come on when it's daylight out. Other times they work properly and come on when it is dark.

View 6 RepliesI have about 500 miles on my 2008 R32, and today I noticed while sitting in the car with it running that there was a noticeable buzzing coming from the fuel pump. It sounds like it is coming from the pump under the tank itself. Hear this coming through to the cabin? Rather loud, I wonder if this issue has already been reported with other 3.2 VR6 setups.

A few days ago, my wife said the lights began dimming, the fuel indicator needle began dropping and rising and the low fuel light came on (with 3/4 of a tank). Thinking it was some kind of electrical issue, I took it to the local parts store and had the battery, starter, alternator, etc, checked. There was a little corrosion build up on the positive battery terminal but everything else checked out ok.
