So... I had the hood open and when i pressed the gas it makes a short hissing noise of some sort... I'll try and get a video tomorrow... it only lasts for about 1-2 seconds not sure if its just induction noise...
View 11 RepliesWhen I have the A/C running in my truck it idles at like 900 RPM's if not 950 RPM's. It also doesn't appear to sweat like normal vehicles do. Most every other vehicle I've owned sweat when running the A/C it does but just not a lot. I hear it hiss like the drip is hitting something hot when I shut the door on the truck.

View 2 RepliesSo of course the dealership isn't going to diagnose this since "the car's not supposed to be driven that way" - but I get a nasty rumbling noise when I accelerate from a dead stop with wide open throttle. It only lasts for the first few thousand RPMs in first gear, and after that it is gone.
I was guessing that it might be the transfer case or something like that, but it's really hard to tell. I do have AWD. I did not have any such problem in my previous GS, which was a 2007 (current is a 2010). It's worse when I accelerate around a corner, and it also makes a small noise when I'm going above 80ish mph, which of course the dealership isn't going to diagnose either.
I have a 2006 screw with the 5.4 and I get a hissing type noise from the A/C. It cycles every 7 seconds and sounds like it's coming from the far passenger vent area. It sounds like it's recharging itself or something. I've taken it into the dealer and the first time they said it was the vacuum driven system then the second time they said it was the freon recharging itself. Is every 7 seconds a little to often? It seems to get louder the longer I drive. Needless to say after a four hour trip to the beach hearing this hissing every 7 seconds drives me crazy. It will hiss then stop for seven seconds then hiss again.

View 3 RepliesEver since we got our 2012 GX, we hear a hissing noise whenever we brake to a stop. Does yours do this? Turn the radio off, and brake at a stop sign...do you hear it? The dealer didnt know what it was. We took another GX off the new car lot and it did the same thing. It sounds like air releasing when you brake.
View 14 RepliesSo the check system light went on after driving 30 minutes then hitting traffic. Would it be possible that it's the TPMS telling me the tire pressure is low? The tires i have are 245 30 and 285 25..the psi on both tires on the driver side are at 30 and the passenger side are both at 33. could that be the reason? What the recommended PSI is for tires that size?

Since I can hear it so clearly I'm leaning towards its the dash or something behind the dash, It seems to be coming from the drivers side.What could it be?
View 6 RepliesI have a 70,000 mile touring SE which at low speeds( less than 20) has a rattling/clunking noise when hitting any small bump. Can not hear anything at higher speeds. Steers well noise could be coming from both sides. They did replace my transmission at 40,000 miles. Car does not bounce when pushing on it like a strut is bad.
View 5 RepliesNot so much hitting pot holes but hitting dips in road I get a noise up front like hard plastic cracked and hitting edges, had the front end checked all fine and he changed the sway bar links said sloppy, still noise, I went under found the front pipe bracket broken so I clamped that, still noise-could it be the strut boot? Doesn't seem to be the shock bushing they seem tight but can not really see them and the upper shock part seems secure. 2011 accent 60k miles. Where I could look next? The plastic around the wheel well is cracked but I don't think all that noise is coming from that, but the next warm dry day I will try to snug that up.

View 10 RepliesI've got an 04' F150 and the ONLY problem I have with it is a ridiculously sluggish throttle. I bought the Superchips Tuner in hopes of eliminating this, but the delay in the throttle is still there (power is much better however). When I talk delay, I am talking hitting the gas and probably a realistic .5-1 sec delay. It is quite annoying to say the least.
My question...is there something that I can do myself to improve the throttle response? I drove an older 150..probably an 02 or 03 and it felt sooooo much more powerful just do to the throttle. I am even willing to ditch the Superchips if the Ford re-tune would do a better job.
I have a 2009 460 awd with adjustable suspension and when making a right turn the front left side makes a noise. I have had the dealer look at it 5 times or more but each time I am told that there are no problems. Now that the weather is getting colder it is becoming more pronounced.
View 7 RepliesEvery once in a while (maybe once a week) I notice that my transmission will slip (fails to engage for about half a second after hitting the throttle). Usually this happens after I have slowed down to almost a stop and then accelerate. The last time this happened I was on a slight incline (maybe 4%).
Is this something to worry about? Any easy way to test if this is an indicator of a big problem coming up down the road? The car has about 130k miles on it now and the transmission fluid and filter was changed at about 90k, the fluid level was checked by a VW tech so I assume it is correct.
A major throttle hesitation has developed in this car, that is so bad, sometimes when you put the pedal to the floor it doesn't want to accelerate at all. Feels like the car has a bout 25% power ,it seems to shift very weird also, its like the car is trying to keep the rpms very low. I am not positive but it seems to occur mostly when the car is first started and still cold or on very wet or humid days? It feels like the car is activating the traction control and the throttle plate is not opening all the way at wot?
I am using 5-20 oil. Maybe should go back to 0-20 oil. Cant imagine the sensors are picking up on extra drag from colder thicker oil at that close of a weight? No codes are showing when the car is checked out.
I got some coilovers installed last night, they are ksports. i have them on fairly low height as of now but i have noticed every time I hit bumps, I hear a kthunk (metal hitting metal noise) from my front driver side. is it from the coilover nuts itself or something wrong with my control arm? the sound ONLY comes from the front DRIVER side.

This happens the most and basically every time when i would slow down at a stop sign with using the brakes, then let go of the brakes and accelerate again, the car would feel like it has some sort of throttle delay and then you feel a heavy push/kick like the wheels are confused..
View 14 Replies09 i4 AUTO 47K miles ... When the car is running at around 50mph and if I give it very slight throttle (enough only to keep speed constant), I would hear this rhythmic humming noise. The hum rhythm has a frequency of about 1/2 second each. It is very muffled, almost like exhaust noise or tire noise. However, if I downshift to 4th gear, keep the same speed, and apply the throttle in the same way, the noise doesn't occur.
View 13 RepliesI have this noise that is cumming from under the car about dead center Engine area its only heard while driving and more as the car has been driven for some time. From speeds 20mph and above only when increasing speed or when full throttle. It wont do it in park or revving it i jack up the car front end and put in drive only front right tire turns but still no noise(is there away for the left tire to turn). Everthing works normal the noise is low and at times only.
