I have a 70,000 mile touring SE which at low speeds( less than 20) has a rattling/clunking noise when hitting any small bump. Can not hear anything at higher speeds. Steers well noise could be coming from both sides. They did replace my transmission at 40,000 miles. Car does not bounce when pushing on it like a strut is bad.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2011 Prius 2, with 35K miles, and have noticed a clicking sound in the steering when hitting a small bump or hole in the road. If the car is parked, I can rock the steering wheel back and forth, and hear a clicking sound. I do not remember the noise being there until recently.
Also the radio reception seems to have gotten weaker. If I am on a trip out of town, it now seems that I am looking for stronger stations frequently, as static interferes. I had the car to the dealer for this a few months ago, and they said they could not duplicate the problem
This car is about ready to drop off the warranty, and would like to have Toyota pay for the repair if it is needed.
So I was driving home from work today and picked my daughter up from the sitters. When I got back in the car I noticed a "clunking" noise when I would hit small bumps. Trying to figure it out, I also noticed this occur when driving straight and moving the steering wheel back and forth.
The car is a 2012 SE v6 with about 26k on it.
I did install eibach springs about a month ago, but have not had any issues until now. I took both front wheels off and checked anything I would have changed when installing the slings and everything seems okay.
I got my 6k HIDS installed yesterday but for some reason they start flickering every time I hit a bump but they stop flickering once the car is stable or just idling on a light. I think the lights flicker because the ballasts are screwed to one of the existing screws on the car and they kind of dangle and nothing else makes it stable which makes my lights flicker. Question is, where did everyone install their ballast or the best place to put them so they wont vibrate?
View 7 RepliesI hit a bump while pressing the brakes for a stop sign (going down hill), and I hear/feel this grinding noise through the pedal right when I hit the bump. I assume it might be the surface after the bump as it happened in the rain and it could be slippery causing the brakes to lock or something. I don't know, I might just be paranoid.
View 2 RepliesSo recently my car has been making almost a crunching noise in the front end of my car usually pulling out of the driveway or hitting any type of bump. But it doesn't seem to always happen. It's a louder crunch when it's colder out. It almost sounds like a rusty door being closed/opened rather then a crunch. My car has just about 77k on it and this is the only issue I have with it.
View 16 RepliesCar has 170k kilometers , just over 100k miles on it; GL model so no sport suspension. Noise occurs going over small bumps.
Stabilizer links are the only front ends parts that were changed so far(12 months ago). Can't feel any play in tierods or ball joints, even the struts don't show signs of leakage and bounce test seems to show they are still okay.
Noise appears to come from front of car ; but I hate guessing and throwing money away. Fished a few large chunks of gravel trapped in subframe cross member around steering rack; no change.
I have a Gs 430 - 2006. After hitting bumps in the highway big or small it seems like my dash or suspension squeaks inside the car. Since I can hear it so clearly I'm leaning towards its the dash or something behind the dash, It seems to be coming from the drivers side.What could it be?
View 6 RepliesThis rattle noise occurs when hitting just about any kind of bump. Sounds like coming from driver side. It sounds like something loose like a washer rattling against something metal. I recently have replaced the radius arm bushings, front springs, and shocks. The sway bar links and bushings look and feel ok. What it ended up being? I have never heard ball joints make such a noise but it wouldn't surprise me if they were in need of replacement.

I brought it to a local dealership and they thought that it was the bracket for the trunk lid rods. They replaced the bracket and the noise is still there..
View 3 RepliesI have a 2009 460 awd with adjustable suspension and when making a right turn the front left side makes a noise. I have had the dealer look at it 5 times or more but each time I am told that there are no problems. Now that the weather is getting colder it is becoming more pronounced.

A click sound may be heard in the engine compartment when the vehicle begins to move after the engine is started. These conditions are normal and
indicate that the anti-lock brake system is functioning properly.
Every time I first hit 20 mph after starting my car, I hear what sounds like an aluminum pop/soda can getting crushed. It does not sound like a 'click', it's much more harsh.
My front driver side wheel is making a clunk noise when I hit a bump. I replaced the wheel bearing hub assembly and discovered both axle seals were bad.

Dealer will look into it next week? I think it has to do with the rear seats.
Everytime I hit the slightest bump I here knocking, tapping or clunking coming from my front suspension what could it be.
View 6 RepliesDriving home the other day I crossed some railroad tracks. They weren't too bad, but bumpy. I wasn't going too fast over them, had slowed a bit with traffic. As I cleared the tracks and hit the gas, nothing happened. The car hadn't stalled and I didn't hear any noises, but for about a second as I pressed the gas, it didn't go in gear.
I think the engine revved, like it was in neutral. I looked down and the traction control light was blinking, but no clicking noises were heard. After a second it started acting normal again, and I have gone over those tracks again the next day to try to replicate and it didn't happen again. Is this a known issue, traction control kicks in when a bump is hit...but no clicking noise like i usually get on ice/snow? Or should I have it looked at?
My 2010 Camry was great the first two winters. Now after the windshield was replaced this summer, the dash rattles against the windshield when it is below 45 degrees and hitting a bump. The same rattle is heard from one A pillar too. Is this related to the windshield replacement or the age of the Camry? It would to determine if I should get another windshield replacement or wedge foam for rattle abatement.
View 1 RepliesMy car has developed a strange squeak from the front suspension when going over large bumps or speed bumps. Most of the time it only happens when i hit a speed bump with both tires hitting at the same time. It is a slow squeak not very high pitched but shouldn't be happening on a car with stock suspension components and less than 12,000 miles.
Why my car would be doing this, under normal driving conditions i don't hear any sounds. Its just when i go over speed bumps and large bumps on the road. It is also only from the front suspension.
Toyota Tundra 2001 v8 4wd. sequence of events as follows . Changed rack and pinion ,tire rods, had aligned no problem. 135000 miles, on it so it was time to change ball joints upper and lower, and struts on front, and brake pads, aligned, now when I hit a bump or hollow the truck feels like its out of control like it goes side to side too much, on level road no problem, changed shocks on rear, but no difference, new bushings on rack and pinion same thing, could it be control arm bushings? or shocks on front are faulty, how could I check? all parts bought at a well known auto parts store, its driving me crazy, last thing tires scream a little going around corners, like you hear if someone is going too fast, but I am not.
