I have 2016 Camry se Spacial Edition, while driving on small bumps from front passenger side. I can hear something hitting like feels like my shock failed or something I can't notice anything from drivers side. I have 18" on it.
View 14 RepliesSo I was driving home from work today and picked my daughter up from the sitters. When I got back in the car I noticed a "clunking" noise when I would hit small bumps. Trying to figure it out, I also noticed this occur when driving straight and moving the steering wheel back and forth.
The car is a 2012 SE v6 with about 26k on it.
I did install eibach springs about a month ago, but have not had any issues until now. I took both front wheels off and checked anything I would have changed when installing the slings and everything seems okay.
I have a 2009 460 awd with adjustable suspension and when making a right turn the front left side makes a noise. I have had the dealer look at it 5 times or more but each time I am told that there are no problems. Now that the weather is getting colder it is becoming more pronounced.

Sound seems like it is coming from the front drivers side. It's not my first time around the block and wonder if it's suspension related or steering related. It's going to the dealer tomorrow...
View 14 RepliesI noticed my 2014.5 camry has a loose driver's window. When rolled down between 2 to 6 inches, it rattles when driving over small bumps If I actually feel the window, it moves about 1/8 inch to the sides when open 2 to 6 inches. I mentioned this at my one year service. The tech showed me other 14.5 SE's they had the same problem only on the driver's window. He said the dealers can't do anything about it because it is how Toyota designed the cars.

I have a rattling noise coming from the front suspension (both sides) when going over small bumps. Most people point to ball joints, but I find my case odd because I just replaced

I did not touch the leaf springs or the sway bar, except to grease the links, which otherwise looked good.
Its been awhile since I've posted, but this is annoying me! Everytime I drive over a small imperfection on the road, I hear this "rattle" or "small thunk" that sounds like either plastic panels in the rear, or maybe the rear suspension.
I ensured the rear seats were locked in place, I even removed that flimsy rear deck, and even drove with my seats down, and I still hear the sound.
I park on some bumpy terrain at my house, and sometimes I'll go over speed bumps maybe a little too fast, but not really fast.
Its just a sound that's never been there before, and I can't hear it unless I have the music off. Its not overly loud, but that "rattle" or "thunk" just makes me this car feel not so "new and refined" anymore.
I own a 2014.5 Camry SE, 4 cyl, 17 inch wheels. 2 months ago I had the right front strut and strut cap replaced, it had a loud popping noise in the r/front, the weird thing was the noise was present with 2 or more people in the car, when I was alone really couldn't hear it. Well I still don't hear the loud popping like it had but there is still a single pop noise over big bumps at low speeds, like a speed bump. I also have the winding up noise in parking lot turning, also only with people in the car, not when I'm alone. The new strut was obviously new, the new strut cap looks identical to the old one, same paint marks as the left side, my invoice shows a strut and mount replaced. I'm at 31000 miles, should I wait a few thousand miles to see if it gets worse? I feel even right after they replaced it there was still some noise in the r/front, I'm generally in my car alone, I'm pretty cautious over speed bumps and the like, my car is driven 80% highway. They only replaced the right front , no left side strut or mount.
View 3 RepliesI would describe the noise as a low rattle/knocking when i hit bumps(or the second after). i thought it might be my spare tire knocking around in its trunk well under the carpet. I actually removed it and drove around to check, but it was not the issue. I had a mechanic look at wheels/suspension because of this noise, he told me the rear passenger side sway bar link needed to be replaced. I personally ended up doing the work and replaced the right and left rear sway bar links however the noise persists.
while the rear was jacked up i tried wobbling the wheels with my hands to check for play but found nothing in any direction. The mechanic seemed to think everything else looked ok.
I only notice it at low speeds like driving around a neighborhood. The big bumps it either isnt happening or the noise is drowned out by the general sound of hitting larger bumps. But over mildly bump sections such as a bad asphalt patch chop it can be very noticeable.
Its not very consistent, its hard to predict when ill hear it and its almost like its during when my suspension settles after hitting the bump that its heard.
I have a 2007 ES 350, the driver's door doesn't seem to be a snug as it ought to be. Hitting even small bumps seems to cause a jarring of the door. How to snug it up?

Since I can hear it so clearly I'm leaning towards its the dash or something behind the dash, It seems to be coming from the drivers side.What could it be?
View 6 RepliesI have a 2005 1500 Silverado z71 that has started producing a squalling noise in the front pass side when hitting decent bumps during hunting season. This noise can also be reproduced when bouncing the pass front side. It has 99,000 miles. I'm assuming this is the front pass. shock. The truck came with Black and Red shocks. What brand is this? Also, from what I have read Blistens are most peoples replacement choice. I see they make a HD (4600) model and a (5100) model. My ride is stock height. If this is the problem and what brand/model to replace with? Doesn't Z71's have gas shocks and would this influence which brand to use?

View 1 RepliesI'm getting ready to do some maintenance such as flushing the brake fluid, new air filter, and changing spark plugs. I've noticed lately a noise from what I'm assuming is my front suspension that can be heard when going over small bumps on roads at low speeds. It sound like a squeaky spring, almost like something needs to be oiled. I'm still on stock suspension with close to 80k on the clock, so I was wondering if there is anything in particular I should look for when I'm messing around the wheels bleeding brakes, or if there is a common procedure to lubricate something so the noise stops. I can hear it from inside the cabin so I imagine you can hear it from outside the car.

Over the last few weeks I've noticed that when the truck has been parked for even a short time, when I start to move out I am getting a thumping noise from the rear, almost sounds and feels as though I am driving over small speed bumps, but once i get going it seems fine. View 5 RepliesThe roads here in Maine this winter were especially awful with potholes and bumps. My '03 Ford Focus Wagon has recently developed a noise that I can't diagnose. The noise can be best described as a "rattle" from the front end when going over very small bumps/cracks in the road. It almost sounds like loose shocks. They are the original shocks and have 130k miles on them.
Big bumps are not a problem. Car does not bottom out, sway upon braking, or bounce when I put my weight on it and release. Several years ago I had a "creaking" from the front end and my mechanic replaced some bushings which fixed the problem. I originally thought this was the same, but it doesn't sound like that - worried it could be the struts but I want to diagnose it a little better before I bring it to a mechanic and just say that I have a front end noise...
I have a 2007 Sonata Ltd (63000 miles) and had a clunk in the front suspension. I had the front upper control arms replaced (which were visually badly worn) and that fixed the problem. But now, a several months later another similar clunking noise has developed when I go over those small speed bumps in parking lots.
View 18 RepliesSince my first service, I have had a clicking type noise in my front end of the car when I am driving slowly (parking, pulling into my driveway). The dealer first said that it could be the brakes setting up after the car sat for a while. They "could not duplicate" the sound when the car was dropped off, but I still hear when I drive.
View 30 RepliesFor the last few months I noticed that there is a rattling or clicking noise that frequently comes from the front passenger seat area but only when no one is in that seat. If the seat is being weighed down by someone sitting there, there is no rattle or clicking noise. It generally occurs when I'm driving on bumpier or textured roads. It suspect that it's coming from something underneath the seat, like the lever that adjusts the seat forward and backward underneath it.
I brought the car to a local dealership and they took a look. After a few hours with them, the car was returned to me. They said they'd found that the lever that adjusts the seat forward/backward was not tightly screwed down all the way on one side, so they adjusted that to make it tight. They also found a coin on the rail underneath that seat and removed it too. However, I drove the car afterward and it is still making the noise.
I've searched this forum and already think I've ruled out the seat belt or the buckle as an issue. I put on the seat belt for the passenger seat and the noise still happens. It's really annoying when driving on a freeway!
Had my SE for nearly a year, love it, but noticed that when I hit a bump or pothole in the road with the right wheels, the car moves to the left and I to correct to center again.
It does not happen for the left side (or maybe I don't feel it as much).
2004 PSD 4x4 72k. I thought I would be proactive so I bought the front ball joints and have plans to install them but recently I starting hearing (and feeling) a clicking sound in the front LEFT when I make sharp turns to the left and hit small bumps now and again. I jacked up the front end and am able to get 1/4" of movement front to back (top to bottom so not steering) in the wheel.
I narrowed it down to the hub. I took it apart and it is most likely a sealed unit so no adjustment is possible....that I can see.I pulled out the locking hub and got as far as I can to know there is not an adjustment. Need to confirm that it indeed is a sealed bearing and if so what are the part number(s) I may need to repair it.
