View 10 RepliesI noticed my 2014.5 camry has a loose driver's window. When rolled down between 2 to 6 inches, it rattles when driving over small bumps If I actually feel the window, it moves about 1/8 inch to the sides when open 2 to 6 inches. I mentioned this at my one year service. The tech showed me other 14.5 SE's they had the same problem only on the driver's window. He said the dealers can't do anything about it because it is how Toyota designed the cars.
View 1 RepliesMy 1998 V6 Camry has rattle on right front and now starting on left too. Bad shocks were replaced and still rattles going over bumps at speeds 20-35. Don't notice on freeway. Car drives fine, no pulling or other problems just irritating noise at slower speeds. Two different mechanics say the Strut mount plate is loose. Could not find any other problems? Is it okay to leave the mount plates in place? Mechanics say other than annoying there isn't a problem.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2006 Scion tC, 109k miles. I have a rattle coming from the front-right wheel area. It's only over small bumps (I mean SMALL, like little dips), and I can't really re-produce it on a jack. It happens more frequently when I turn to the left. The frequency of the rattle sounds similar to a paint can ball, but if it were a lower pitch. I'm thinking of checking the the strut mount, or maybe the end link?
View 6 RepliesMy Toyota Camry (2000) has recently developed a small leak on the front passenger side of the car. The water seems to be coming in from the bottom of the front door about two inches from the door hinges since I can clearly see a water stain there. My mechanic has tried to locate the leak and he seems to think that it may be the windshield. He claims that he hosed it down and he thinks it is the windshield. To repair it he suggested that I will have to re install the windshield. How can I be sure of this?
View 3 RepliesThe roads here in Maine this winter were especially awful with potholes and bumps. My '03 Ford Focus Wagon has recently developed a noise that I can't diagnose. The noise can be best described as a "rattle" from the front end when going over very small bumps/cracks in the road. It almost sounds like loose shocks. They are the original shocks and have 130k miles on them.
Big bumps are not a problem. Car does not bottom out, sway upon braking, or bounce when I put my weight on it and release. Several years ago I had a "creaking" from the front end and my mechanic replaced some bushings which fixed the problem. I originally thought this was the same, but it doesn't sound like that - worried it could be the struts but I want to diagnose it a little better before I bring it to a mechanic and just say that I have a front end noise...
I recently lowered my 2012 Beetle with HR super sport springs/stock struts.. So this annoying tin rattling sound has come out. I just replaced the strut mounts thinking they separated like they are known to do. Sound Still there. Now my thinking either it is the sway bar end links being too long or possibly I have aftermarket wheels and aluminum hub rings it could be rattling over small bumps? Could it be the strut bearings? I've been over everything that I can think of and nothing is loose.

View 6 RepliesMinor rattle when going over bumps! It sounds like drivers side rear... I have had a chance to check of anything in the car was loose (spare tire tools etc...). Found my problem, now I just have to confirm its the rear driver seat belt not resting correctly.
1. Intermittent rattle behind driver
-check rear seat belts that they are actually resting on the cushion loop.
-check rear passenger window switch.
-check door strikers
2. Bass rattle front doors
-check with dealer
3. Rattle at rear of car
-check spare wheel and tool compartment.
I have 2016 Camry se Spacial Edition, while driving on small bumps from front passenger side. I can hear something hitting like feels like my shock failed or something I can't notice anything from drivers side. I have 18" on it.
View 14 RepliesThe car is a 2004 Suzuki Aerio with 68k miles on it. I've owned the car since 25k miles, and performed all maintenance on time. The car was also maintained well before we owned it (receipts). I've taken it to our garage 5 times now, for the same noise. Here is the timeline of events:
1) Two months ago started making two noises (rattle over bumps and a faint clunk on driver's side when turning). Garage replaced control arm assembly on both sides.
2) Took it back a week later because it was still making clunk (It got worse over this week, and then stayed at this level. I can feel it under the driver's side floor board. Sounds like a clunk/cracking noise) and was making a new rattle. Garage said their air wrench was messing up the first day and a heat shield came loose.
3) Another week later, still making clunk and making yet another weird rattle/grinding noise over bumps. Garage said this time that it's another loose bolt on the control arm assembly. Tightened and double checked everything. They seemed apologetic and embarrassed about the loose bolts.
4) Another two weeks later, still making the clunking noise. I take it back and take our mechanic for a ride. He hears it. I call back later that day and they say they can't find anything wrong with it (checked struts, front suspension, and cv joint). I speak with a different mechanic and he tells me "we don't do any fancy hard turning when we take the cars for test drives. We drive them like most people with old cars drive them." This seems to infer, to me, that it's only making this noise because I drive my car hard. Fyi, I drive reasonably. They say they had my mechanic, the other mechanic, the shop owner (who was on vacation that week), and ANOTHER mechanic from a different garage looking at it, and they can't find what's wrong. Bring it back next week.
5) Yesterday, they say they looked everything over and couldn't find anything wrong. Said they would have to diagnose it by feel. I have to work, but my husband picks it up and says they said it's play in the drive shaft causing this noise, and that they didn't seem worried about it. I only paid for the first visit.
Does this sound reasonable? Should I take it somewhere else for a second opinion? It does it on turns weather I'm on the gas or not. I like this car and I'm hoping to keep it for at least a few more years.

I have a rattling noise coming from the front suspension (both sides) when going over small bumps. Most people point to ball joints, but I find my case odd because I just replaced
Upper/Lower ball joints
Track bar
Tie rod ends
Shocks
Front U joints

I did not touch the leaf springs or the sway bar, except to grease the links, which otherwise looked good.
It all began on my 1997 Camry when the driver's front turn signal began the rapid flashing thing, indicating to me that the bulb in the front was out. I replaced the bulb. The running light part works, but the flasher still does not. On the front passenger side of the car, the turn signal works, but the running light does not. I replaced the passenger side bulb at the same time I replaced the driver's side bulb. The flashing turn signal works as it did before, but the running light still does not go on.
The problem shouldn't be the bulbs - they are new. The flasher unit behind the fuse box should affect both lights flashing, so it probably is not that.
What thing or things can cause one light to flash for the turn signal but not be on constantly for the running light (passenger front side) and to work as a running light being constantly on, but not flashing as a turn signal (driver's front side)?
So i parked my car in the garage cause it was supposed to snow over night, well pull out this morning and there was a small wet spot, when to inspect it and it was oil, colorless, it came from front driver side, something is leaking, I popped the hood and looked down and i can see oil on plastic, on the bottom of the engine bay, where is this coming from? no light are on, and oil levels are all good? its a 2012 gti with 31k miles on it....
View 1 RepliesI bought a 09 Sonata GLS in July, really nice other than dash noise, what has been described as crackle. Briefly, my sonata is makes crackling noise going over small bumps, more pronounced in colder temp. I have taken it in to the dealer 4 times, problem still persist. According to the dealer, Hyundai regional office knows of my problem, and there is no fix for it at this time. I just bought the vehicle and I am suppose to live with it?????
View 69 RepliesI purchased a 2012 Camry SE V6 end of December 2011. I really like the car's performance but have an annoying issue.
Above the driver's position, I hear short popping or cracking sounds when the car is moving and going over bumps or when the road twists. This sounds like a body structural issue and comes from the roof area to the left of the sunroof. This happens less often when it is sunny and more often when it is not sunny so the cooler metal may be the issue. The noise sometimes stops altogether when it is sunny or after the car has been driven for an hour. Once it sits for a couple of hours on an overcast day, the annoying pop/crack will start up again.
The door panel was replaced but the problem continued.
I have a 2009 Toyota Camry. I started hearing this knocking noise(really loud pop) from the rear. I have read the TSB's about a knocking noise coming from the "Spring Bumper" from the strut assembly and they are all facing the correct way. And there was also a TSB for a knocking noise from the "Roof Structure." The dampening bonds come apart and makes a knocking noise. I've replaced a strut mount in the right rear and that did not fix the problem.
