View 1 RepliesMy 03 Camry LE has a weird clunk/rattle in the rear driver side only. This happens when i go over bad portion of road, not like potholes just uneven bad road. When the suspension moves quickly. Car has no weight in back. It sounds like something metal is loose in that side, the other side is tight and makes no noise. The struts were replaced in january by previous owner, someone told me it was the rear links which i replaced and still same issue, checked sway bar bushings and those are good.
View 14 RepliesI was pulling out of the driveway and heard really loud snapping noise. Jumped out of the car expecting to see damage, but everything looked fine. I didn't drive over anything or hit anything.
Now, I notice that when my left front wheel goes over bumps and potholes there's this metallic rattle. Took it my mechanic right after and we both looked the front suspension over. Everything looks good. It does drive fine.
Started out clunk sound only if going over speed bump, or bumpy road. Now more often with slightest road bumps.
View 11 RepliesI have a 2002 Camry, and recently on the passenger side towards the front wheel there has been a fairly persistent thump or clunk when I brake at low speeds (i.e. immediately before a full stop). I took it to my local mechanic yesterday to see if he could figure it out, and unfortunately he wasn't, although he did point out that my dog bone was cracked and suggested changing that out. Afterwards, the thump/clunk did seem to be more subdued, but it's still obviously there.
View 12 RepliesI have a 2007 Sonata Ltd (63000 miles) and had a clunk in the front suspension. I had the front upper control arms replaced (which were visually badly worn) and that fixed the problem. But now, a several months later another similar clunking noise has developed when I go over those small speed bumps in parking lots.

View 4 RepliesI get an audible clunk/thud noise when I go over a dip or bump in the road. The sound only comes from the passenger side front wheel and only happens once when the car is cold. It almost sounds like a strut mount or something. I've just been living with it but recently the noise has happened when the car is warmed up. The driver side front does not make this sound. It is not the ABS self check noise that some people hear.

View 10 RepliesThe car is a 2004 Suzuki Aerio with 68k miles on it. I've owned the car since 25k miles, and performed all maintenance on time. The car was also maintained well before we owned it (receipts). I've taken it to our garage 5 times now, for the same noise. Here is the timeline of events:
1) Two months ago started making two noises (rattle over bumps and a faint clunk on driver's side when turning). Garage replaced control arm assembly on both sides.
2) Took it back a week later because it was still making clunk (It got worse over this week, and then stayed at this level. I can feel it under the driver's side floor board. Sounds like a clunk/cracking noise) and was making a new rattle. Garage said their air wrench was messing up the first day and a heat shield came loose.
3) Another week later, still making clunk and making yet another weird rattle/grinding noise over bumps. Garage said this time that it's another loose bolt on the control arm assembly. Tightened and double checked everything. They seemed apologetic and embarrassed about the loose bolts.
4) Another two weeks later, still making the clunking noise. I take it back and take our mechanic for a ride. He hears it. I call back later that day and they say they can't find anything wrong with it (checked struts, front suspension, and cv joint). I speak with a different mechanic and he tells me "we don't do any fancy hard turning when we take the cars for test drives. We drive them like most people with old cars drive them." This seems to infer, to me, that it's only making this noise because I drive my car hard. Fyi, I drive reasonably. They say they had my mechanic, the other mechanic, the shop owner (who was on vacation that week), and ANOTHER mechanic from a different garage looking at it, and they can't find what's wrong. Bring it back next week.
5) Yesterday, they say they looked everything over and couldn't find anything wrong. Said they would have to diagnose it by feel. I have to work, but my husband picks it up and says they said it's play in the drive shaft causing this noise, and that they didn't seem worried about it. I only paid for the first visit.
Does this sound reasonable? Should I take it somewhere else for a second opinion? It does it on turns weather I'm on the gas or not. I like this car and I'm hoping to keep it for at least a few more years.

If there belt tensioner wobbles like this on a 2azfe? There is a noise as you initially press the accelerator but then disappears. You can hear it in the video. I know there is a tsb on the tensioner but the belt doesn't look like its loosening off.
I have a 2014 Camry. I went over a speed bump at around 30 MPH, and as the front wheels went up to the top of the speed bump, I heard a definite sound of hard contact coming from below the front portion of the car, possibly near the right wheel. The sound wasn't loud, and it wasn't followed by any other sound. It was just "bump."
The car seemed fine after, and I drove for another five miles or so noticing anything different. I looked under the car, and I didn't see any signs of damage. There was some water condensation dripping down, but I think that's just because I had been using the AC. Do you think I have any reason to worry? What signs should I be on the lookout for?
FYI, the speed bump was one of those wide ones with a gentle curve. It looked like a slight, gradual elevation in the road, and the paint had washed off. So I didn't see it. It wasn't a narrow speed bump that you have to slow down to 10 MPH for.
I was told it is my sway bar end link? My friend says it is probably my sway bar end links, not positive yet though! I just picked up my car Friday, so I'm new to the Lexus world, always wanted one of these cars.
View 4 RepliesSo i parked my car in the garage cause it was supposed to snow over night, well pull out this morning and there was a small wet spot, when to inspect it and it was oil, colorless, it came from front driver side, something is leaking, I popped the hood and looked down and i can see oil on plastic, on the bottom of the engine bay, where is this coming from? no light are on, and oil levels are all good? its a 2012 gti with 31k miles on it....

I recently went over a speed bump in the road and the car made an awful clunk sound sort of like the strut reached the end of its length reach. The car continued to make this klunk sound when I'd go over smaller bumps just not as loud. What this could be and how to remedy it?

Only happens at low speeds, most notably in parking lots.
My best guess is a stabilizer link or a ball joint.

I noticed my 2014.5 camry has a loose driver's window. When rolled down between 2 to 6 inches, it rattles when driving over small bumps If I actually feel the window, it moves about 1/8 inch to the sides when open 2 to 6 inches. I mentioned this at my one year service. The tech showed me other 14.5 SE's they had the same problem only on the driver's window. He said the dealers can't do anything about it because it is how Toyota designed the cars.
