I drive a 2014 GS but I am driving a GS loaner now that has a newer nav and no manual in glove box. How do I increase brightness of the nav screen? Also is there a way to switch back to 2D maps from 3D?
View 3 RepliesOn my 2007 GS350 I have an annoying (or) normal problem where the Nav screen has to warm up a little, like an old tube radio, to full brightness when I start up the car on a colder morning. It takes about 15 to 20 seconds. My Lexus dealer first said it was normal but eventually gave up and replaced it. It still seems to be about the same.
View 8 RepliesI've recently came across a site that sells a bypass unit that would allow me to bypass the DRL brightness adjustment settings to "Full" brightness even when the headlights are on. Instead of the "dim" mode when the headlights are on.

View 5 RepliesI was heading to the gym tonight and noticed that when I had my headlights on the nav screen stays white and does not go into the dark mode it is supposed to with the headlight on. I pressed the display button and there was no indication that there was an option to go back and fourth between day and night mode as usual . Only the option to adjust brightness and contrast. I do have the option to turn off the screen but this is annoying.
View 6 RepliesSo in one of the owner's manuals, Lexus states that use of EV mode does NOT increase overall mileage. I was surprised by that. If this is the case why have it? I have been using EV mode after I get off the freeway and drive a couple of miles through our subdivision. I deplete the battery almost completely (2 bars) but make it into the garage. Will this damage the traction battery and should this not improve the mileage. The engine runs in the morning anyway to warm up and the battery charges up then. I am just wondering how others use the EV mode.
View 9 RepliesI turned on the climate control this morning when I started the car and tried to change the temperature, then for some reason until the car was warmed up the climate control went to lo and seemed like it was locked there.
Once I the car got warmed up, the climate control worked was normal. It seemed like the increase/decrease controls were locked.
I a new owner of a 2014 and have a question. When on the radio screen the app tab is grayed out. I can access the apps through the menu settings but not the radio. How do I get the app tab to work? I have the enform app on my phone and have it open. I also have all my accounts linked.

On the Nav. screen, when I switch my audio screen to the main screen from the side screen, it only stays on for a few seconds, and the map reappears on the main screen. Is there a way to lock the main screen to audio, and use the side screen for one of the other tasks?

View 6 RepliesOwning a 2015 GS F-Sport. (black/black). I finally changed the startup screen away from the default mpeg showing the dealership info. However, I would like to load a custom image.
I thought from reading the manual that I could simply plug in my iPhone and the image library would populate but no-go.
Do I need to transfer images to an SD card in a camera and connect the camera through USB?
I read that I can change the start up pics on my GS nav screen when starting the car. I like the default ones but would like to try something new. When I went to transfer my images in the directory, it asked if I really wanted to delete the existing ones. I was under the impression that what is default remains and that I can install new ones also. Does the default ones will be removed from car nav system?
View 5 RepliesI've owned Acura's for 15 years total and now own my first Lexus. Loving it so far. Just bought a used 2013 GS350 luxury package with only 12,000 miles believe it or not. Spectacular condition. Loving it so far after 4 days!
Quick condition, is there a way to permanently display the digital clock somewhere on the nav screen or is the analog clock the only option? Not a big deal, but prefer digital clocks.
I literally just picked up my 2013 GS 350 at the auction.
Right when I drove off with it, I plugged in my Iphone 5 and selected the ipod menu, and it loaded up all the music on my iphone. After some fiddling I got the bluetooth to work nice as well.
Then later in the day I plugged my Iphone in after work, and noticed that when I selected the "Ipod" on the audio menu, the screen where the songs are supposed to populate doesn't load up the songs. The screen is just blank, as if there was no ipod connected.
I test drove a 2013 RX450h this morning and almost decided to purchase it. The one problem I experienced was a dark area, about 1/3 of the nav screen on the driver's side with my sunglasses on. Taking the glasses off eliminated the problem. I tried a different pair of sunglasses and was able to duplicate the dark area. I am assuming this problem is caused by polarized lenses. I do not have the problem with my 2010 LS nor the 2013 GS350 I also tested.
View 14 RepliesThe start up messages take way too long to clear, during which time they obscure the top section of the backup camera? I first get "phone connection successful..." followed by "transfer complete". Between the two messages, the top 15-20% of the backup camera screen is obscured. And it's really that top sliver of the screen that allows you to see more than 4 feet behind the car. I suppose I should just be more patient, but 10 seconds (I've timed it) is an eternity to wait after starting the car before you can start backing out.
So I just back out as if I don't have a camera using my mirrors and looking over my shoulder (which I did for my previous 30 years of driving before getting my GS so I guess it's not THAT big of a deal). I just find it really annoying to put a backup camera in the car and then obscure it with messages. It's interesting that Lexus feels it's important to tell me that my phone has been connected for a full 10 seconds. It would be more interesting to know if I was about to back up into something.
Uploading a custom pic to the main start up screen yet? Tech told me that the picture file has to be in a specific folder so that the computer can recognize and pick it up somehow.
View 7 RepliesI just picked up my gs 350 fsport. having fun.. noticed that when i plug in my ipad to the usb port it recognizes it as an ipod. but.. here is the question.. it will play sound of music files no problem and but on the videos it only plays sound and give a message that device not video or something similar to that. Does that mean that some devices can be input through the usb to play video?
