On my 2007 GS350 I have an annoying (or) normal problem where the Nav screen has to warm up a little, like an old tube radio, to full brightness when I start up the car on a colder morning. It takes about 15 to 20 seconds. My Lexus dealer first said it was normal but eventually gave up and replaced it. It still seems to be about the same.

View 5 RepliesI was heading to the gym tonight and noticed that when I had my headlights on the nav screen stays white and does not go into the dark mode it is supposed to with the headlight on. I pressed the display button and there was no indication that there was an option to go back and fourth between day and night mode as usual . Only the option to adjust brightness and contrast. I do have the option to turn off the screen but this is annoying.
View 6 RepliesI have the Non-Nav with just Display Audio. I have noticed that the display tends to fade in & out. Even at night when the lights are on- I keep the dash on the bright side- the DA/radio info fades. It's still legible but wondering is there a way to fix this? I couldn't find anything in the manual about adjusting the brightness.
View 4 RepliesSo my screen has been acting up for a while now...not too sure why. I have an '08 350 without navigation. From time to time, the screen will automatically go off regardless of what's being viewed. I took a look and fooled around with some settings (the auto transition from climate to trip or whatever you call it) even tried pushing the screen off button in hopes it would reset or clear the problem. It's just annoying because I have to constantly re-awake the screen only to have it happen again moments later...
View 10 RepliesWaiting at a light, hear screeching of tires under full lock. Glance in the rear view mirror to see a Corolla about to smack into us. Missed getting pushed into the van in front of us by less than a foot.
Will be getting estimates this week. I'm guessing $1500ish. Bumper cover, one of the center sensors and not sure of any structural or crush-able components under the cover.
Very fortunate that everything is still properly aligned where the cover meets the rear quarters and no issues with either power trunk alignment/operation nor exhaust issues.
Corolla didn't fare so well.
When I accelerate from full stop with 3/4 throttle when car gets to 60-70 mph it stops accelerating for 1 or 2 sec, there is is also a little jerk. After that it continues to accelerate normally. The problem is not present if for instance we drive 30 mph and then use 3/4 or full throttle. I talked to dealer and they said there might be a little jerk but nothing more, and it might be solved by software update. In my opinion its definitely not a slightly jerk, car completely stops to accelerate for a moment. Car has about 45 k miles so its almost like new.

Not knowing much about navigation screens I assumed I could figure out how to update it by just going though some screens.....!!! I went through all the gps screens and got to a screen that said update gps or something like that..... but anyway I pushed it like a idiot and now its stuck on insert map dvd!!! I am like what?? Nothing came out though. Now I cant get the navigation to start back! Whats going on..where would a dvd come out at? How did I have navigation if no disc was in??
View 14 RepliesJust purchased a 2016 Avalon Touring. I am very happy with the car except for the nav screen. It seems that only split screen display is possible; either 2 or 3 panels. Is it possible to have full screen display for the nav system. The 800 number for Toyota said no.
View 2 RepliesHow to disable the "I AGREE" button that appears every time the car is started? I have seen other posts that refer to this issue on other non GX models, and take about putting the system in "simple mode" by pressing the SCAN button eight times, then the REPEAT or another button after that. I have tried this on my 2006 GX but with no luck. After I put the audio system into CD playing mode, I press the SCAN button repeatedly and quickly but all it does is scan the audio tracks.
The only other thing I know about my GX is that it is still on its original nav software, and is scheduled to receive the update which my Lexus dealer says is coming out in October. Not sure if this affects its ability to bypass the "I AGREE" screen, or if the software update will affect it either.
OK..so I had the dreaded "Digitizer stopped responding" issue with my Nav screen. I took it apart to repair and now, screen is all white...also the digitizer cracked.
I used to be an electronic tech for many years and fixed many PCBs in the past, but somehow a small transformer on the PCB that drives the LCD panel broke. It is un-repairable as it is surface mounted and I wouldn't even know where to get the part. Also, I was chipping away the glass to get at the traces under the edge of the digitizer and the glass cracked.
Anyway; here is my question. Does the driver PCB, LCD panel and Digitizer are the same on the Nav and Non Nav units? All I need to repair the screen are those three parts. I have seen the non-Nav units much cheaper than the Nav units. Even if I can get a used one, at least I can get the screen to work again in my wife's car.
For the past few days, every time i turn the car ON (with the headlights ON), the nav screen, clock and surrounding buttons illuminate as they should, but after ~3 seconds, the illumination for the surrounding buttons and clock shut off.
Also, the touch-screen functioning and surrounding buttons do not work at any time. The nav screen remains illuminated, however the touch-screen buttons and surrounding buttons do not work. If i turn the car off and restart, same thing; all lights illuminate for about 3 seconds then stop.
During the day with no lights on, the clock will illuminate for ~3 seconds, then shut off just like above. None of the surrounding buttons (climate, map, infom audio, display, etc) work at all.
What would cause this unusual condition? I feel like if a fuse were blown, it wouldn't work, period. But, the lights illuminate for a few seconds before shutting off.
The emergency flasher button works and illuminates always, and the passenger airbag lights do, likewise. I pulled the nav unit from the car and checked all cables, and they all appear in place.
I can communicate with the car via the voice commands, but that's it.
what might be causing these strange symptoms?
Its about 100 times worse and more annoying in person...this is after felting areas around the navi screen and around the windshield area. Are yours this bad? [URL] .....

View 14 RepliesMy GS350 is a spare car that sits for weeks at a time and recently the battery fully discharged. After charging the battery and getting it running, when I go to the climate control on the touchscreen, I don't get any climate controls. I get the error "Please check air conditioner connection". Any quick way for me to reset or rectify this or do I need to go to the dealer? This error is a result of a dead battery?

I have an issue with my 06 GS430.
This all started this morning when I first started the car. The clock does not display, all of the buttons to the left, right, and bottom DO NOT work (this is NOT good because I cannot control the climate, turn on a/c, heater, NOTHING) navigation touchscreen works (but again navigation push buttons to the right of the screen do not work).
So, the only thing that works is the Radio and the Navigation touch screen! Also, all of the push buttons surrounding the navi screen do not illuminate at night when lights are on.
Things I have done:
-Checked fuses (IG)10A ECU-IG RH, (ACC) 7.5A ACC, (BAT) 7.5A TV, RAD 1,2,3
-Hard Reset - Disconnected Neg. Battery Cable for 20 min.
Is there anything else that I can check for or is my entire Navi Console Unit shot?
