I am having a problem with my rear suspension. The indicator lights on the dash (for the rear suspension control) are working correctly as are the controls on the center console, however the rear of my vehicle is stuck in a high position.
View 14 Replies06 330 4WD Replaced control arms, tied rod ends, ball joints and had aligned. Now it somehow appears that the suspension is stuck in the high position, there is no movement in the front struts. It sounds like there is no motion from any suspension components. Feeling a bit stupid here...everything looks correct. So Disconnected battery and suspension is actually active now. But each corner is at a different height, will not return to Normal or low position
View 1 RepliesMy rear air suspension keeps dropping. Sometimes my suspension goes down all the way when parked, but not all the time. When I start the car it goes back up. It's a 2003 GX470.
View 8 RepliesI've had the stiff ride issue with my 2005 gx470. Took it to three lexus dealers and finally the vehicle is fixed. Hats off to Lexus of Maplewood, St Paul, MN. Their shop foreman persisted and found after several days troubleshooting; a speed sensor was the culprit. My ride is much smoother over speed bumps without the need to cycle through the height adjustment.

View 3 RepliesMy left rear suspension will leak down to bump stops unless I turn off auto suspension leveler. I can set suspension at high level turn off and it will stay that way i had set that way for 2 weeks and no leak but if I turn on leveler it may stay or it may leak down usually just left side somebody had said that my air bags were leaking so I tested it out all last month and find it hard to believe the bags are leaking if it will stay inflated a week or 2.

View 2 RepliesMy GX and I are in the south and I sometimes have to leave it parked outside all day in 100F+ temperatures during the summer. Needless to say it gets extremely hot inside and sometimes takes a while to cool down. I started using my rear AC on full in conjunction with my main AC to facilitate cooling off the interior of the vehicle. I do this even when I'm by myself because... if I'm not mistaken... the rear AC uses a completely separate unit including a separate compressor. So it seems that it would cool things down faster running both systems. Can verify that the rear unit is completely independent of the main AC system?

"Check 4-Wheel AHC System" dialog on the dashboard and the ride height switch fails to do anything.
I have a 2006 GX470. It has some sort of automatic rear suspension height adjustment. When it is malfunctioning the rear of the car is jacked up like I have pimped it out. I use the height adjustment button but when I resume driving the car moves back into the neutral position which is not neutral at all it is jacked to the top. I had the sensors replaced once for $1,000 but within a year it was doing the same thing.
Now the light flashes to lower the back end but the back end doesn't move. I am stuck in the jacked up mode.
I have a 05 gx470 and I was having trouble with the rear staying bottomed out and not pumping up. I replaced both ride height sensors. Nothing changed until about 1 hour of driving the compressor kicked on. it road better but still bottomed out some. So I raised the sensors about 5mm. it road great for about 10 miles then went back to riding on the axles. No compressor activity. Also when the compressor is not engaging the push buttons do nothing with changing the dash from H-N-L no matter when you push it. If you hear the compressor running all the buttons will work just fine. I have a useless car because it is not safe to drive when its riding on the axle bump stops.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2003 GX 470, the air suspension often deflates to axles and stays there. Ride is unbearable, I removed the rear height sensors and used an ohmeter to test them and they seem to be working fine (ohms change as I move the pivot arm, goes from 423 ohms to 3.3 K full stroke on both sensors) It will deflate to axles and there are no flashing lights and the manual height switch doesn't do anything when I push it, it just stays in N. Every few days the suspension will start working and air up and ride fine. What else could it be besides sensors or is it the sensors even though they seem to be working fine. Could it be an adjustment on sensors. Where is the height control exhaust valve located? Once it airs up to normal can I just disconnect the exhaust valve so it cant deflate?

View 4 RepliesHave a 2007 GX 470 with 70,000 Miles. Recently we have had problems with the ignition getting stuck. Key will go in, but, will not turn. Happens randomly and unpredictably. Will start after a period of time. Sometimes 30 minutes, sometimes several hours. My not happen for a few weeks or sometimes 2 or 3 times a week. Neither Lexus or Toyota claims to have heard of this problem.
View 14 RepliesThis morning on my way to work it was quite cold (~2 degrees F) and my car had some snow left on it from yesterday's snowstorm. I warmed the car up and had the rear defroster on.
When I went to use the rear wiper to clear some snow it got stuck in the down position and won't work. I tried manually clearing any snow and now the rear window is clear but the blade still won't move. I turned it on and off several times and nothing. I turned the car off and on again and still nothing.
Is it possible the motor is fried? This is a 2010 RX with ~68k miles.
My wife started up my 2005 GX470 this morning to go to work and drove maybe a half mile before she noticed a problem. So she turned around and drove it back home in limp mode. She put it in park and got out.
Most of the Warning Lights are on ( VSC OFF, VSC TRAC, Anti Skid, Check Engine etc). I tried moving the shift lever but there was some resistance and some grinding noises. And it now seems to be stuck in neutral.
How to diagnose this myself? We only drive this vehicle in the winter, and it was fine the last time we used it.
My phaeton all of a sudden wouldn't rise up .I then took off the left battery terminal and let it sit for a while then put it back and then the car rose up and the back is on the normal level and the front is sitting higher its weird !.I have to mention that it seems my car has electrical issues because if it sits for about two days my key fob doesn't work sometimes I have use the actual key to open it.then once the car starts I have to reset the clock ,seats everything..Anyway is there a way to completely reset the whole system so at least my vehicle goes down.

Bought as 6 month old demo in 2011 and from day one rear driver side power window has gone up and down slower than other three windows. Going up decidedly worse. My fault for not having it looked at while still under warranty.
Behavior the same using either driver's switch or the rear switch.
Well, now it occasionally gets stuck in down position. Neither switch works. But, if I press switch and pull up on window I can eventually get it to close.
I looked at other posts and saw no clear solution for this intermittent problem.
I had a question regarding the rear sunshade. Currently my sun shade is stuck in the middle position and it is very annoying and also is reducing my visibility in my rear view mirror because the bar is in the middle of my view. I took it to my local dealer and they said just to put it in the lower position would cost $800-1000. Does this seem fair ? I didn't break it, and why should I have to pay for something that is a malfunctioning part. The worst part is my rear view mirror is also turning black in the inside of the mirror also reducing my visibility ?
View 11 RepliesI have my 2004 gx470 in for service today. I have noticed that the air compressor seems to run longer and more frequent . I bought the trunk July of 2013. I have lexus plat extended warranty. Prior to this service in august of 2013 I was experiencing similar issues and when the truck was in then they replaced the rear air height control reservoir assembly . Now they are changing the rear drivers side airbag . My question is should air bags be replaced as a pair. Will I notice any ride difference since they are only replacing the one that is leaking . I would figure common sense would apply and that the air bag works or is does not.
View 6 RepliesI'm the owner of GX 470 2006 85 k miles, facing a problem of height control failure. The problem started some few months ago while starting the car. I there was a noise behind on the height compressor. Took it to my mechanical and the noise disappeared because the compressor wasn't well fixed to the body. Since then i'm not able to adjust the height of the car. The car remains at the height low level and jumping dangerously each time i drive it inside a hole. Decided to go back to the mechanical the following code error appeared during the diagnosis: P1445. How can this code be related to the height control system when we know that this code is related to the secondary air injection system switching valve?
I decided to change the 2 height sensors located on the R and L rear side of the vehicule and the VSV locate in the engine. The problem remains. Now the dashboard keeps the green light at N and the button to raise and low the height of the car is not responding. More the mechanic can't anymore obtain the errors code from his diagnosis device.
