Lexus GX 2004-09 :: Sways Sideways When Hit A Bump On The Highways

I just turned 200,000 miles on my 2004 GX470. I am the original owner. I had a very good experience with my GX. Besides the normal maintenance jobs (brakes, tires, spark pluds, belt) I have not had any other major repairs. However, the last few months, the car waves sideways when I hit a bump on the highways. It sways sideways. I checked the sway bars and the appear to be fine. What did you have to change to stop this wavey ride?

The car drives great on smooth roads, but as soon as I hit a bump it jerks the wheel and if turning the car it jumps sideways (overall feels like the rear is kicking out)... Not a fun feeling.

Yesterday the passenger side tie rod came apart on my 2005 Prius while I was pulling out of a parking lot and my tire turned sideways. It looked like it unthreaded itself. Lucky I wasn't on a freeway.

04 f350 drw 2x4 ... I know this is a weird question, but i put 4 new tires on the rear of my truck and developed what i can describe as "loose body" symptoms. Most noticeable in going down the highway it feels like the rear of the truck sways and its hard to control and keep straight at times. Check tire pressures n front and rear suspension for broken springs or loose joints. Nothing looks broken or out of place. Prior to replacement truck drove straight n all was good. Also noticed steering wheel is now off center.

On bumpy roads, and on most highways, there is a slight humming/rattling noise to the bottom left hand side of the steering wheel. Its really only audible when there's no music on, which happens to be how I like to drive. I've tried pushing on some of the panels when i hear it, to see if it dampens the noise, but no leads so far.

I have recently started to have the exhaust rattle on my RX330. It occurs every now and then when the car is on an angle or more particularly when going over a speed bump. I had been trying to find out where it was coming from and it looked to be the exhaust possibly touching the plate that separates the exhaust from the spare wheel cover (which of course is plastic). This is the part I am talking about....
Now the first part of me thinks that to resolve the issue it would be handy to put some padding there to stop it from rattling against the shield when the exhaust does move. The second part of me also thinks, it might be time to replace the rubber holders as they seem to be particularly soft and have quite a bit of give to them. Now for the interim I would want to put some padding on there. What padding have to put there? Would exhaust wrap be the most obvious choice to wrap around the shield?
Trying to find an inexpensive temporary solution. The long term resolution would be for the actual rubber rings themselves to be replaced as well as having that small metal bit covered in some sort of wrap to prevent metal to metal touching (hence vibration and noise). Part of me also thought to remove the shield altogether, but worried that the exhaust may touch the plastic around the tyre and cause it to melt and possibly catch fire, as it does sway a bit.

How to fix rear air suspension from dropping down to bump stops ...if I reset it every night it is fine but if not it will be down on bump stops by morning.

My left rear suspension will leak down to bump stops unless I turn off auto suspension leveler. I can set suspension at high level turn off and it will stay that way i had set that way for 2 weeks and no leak but if I turn on leveler it may stay or it may leak down usually just left side somebody had said that my air bags were leaking so I tested it out all last month and find it hard to believe the bags are leaking if it will stay inflated a week or 2.

It has 85K miles and rides very choppy/harsh. I feel even a very small dip/hump/bump when driving and it's coming from rear of the car.
What needs to be replaced and/or checked other than the rear shocks? Everything is stock and correct tire pressure.

I have been getting some loud squeaking from my VWR sways and decided to have them serviced at a local shop. The rear sway bushing could be removed and greased without problem. However, the front bushing could not be removed and the best the tech could do was grease the bar and slide the bushing back and forth to try and lube it up. The squeaking became higher pitched but did not go away and it is driving me nuts when I go over small bumps. Did VWR upgrade the parts at any point to make the front bushings serviceable?

When I make a left, my car makes this eeek...eeek...eeek noise, when I'm going straight and go over a bump there is no noise, I press the brakes on all stops no noise, making a right no noise... I tried checking the front left brakes today and it looks fine, I even cleaned it a bit and it's still the same.

It is like floating peacefully along in a canoe on a calm lake, and then being passed by a speed boat. Our 05 Hyundai Sonata sways/rocks violently left to right at speeds higher than 50 mph, when going over bumps, or around curves to the right. It also happens when being passed by tractor trailers on the highway, and when high wind gusts hit the car. It is worse when the car is full of our family and luggage. We just drove from New Hampshire to Georgia and back dealing with this frightening problem the whole way. The Hyundai dealership in Buford Georgia said it was our struts, so we get new rear struts. Unfortunately we discovered that was not the problem once we hit the highway to head home. The problem persisted. Our local mechanic in New Hampshire does not see anything wrong, but said it is missing the splash shield under the engine which may cause uneven wind pressure. I truly feel that something is very wrong, but do not know what.

Here is the spec of my gs: 20x9.5 front(-2 camber), 20x10.5(-4 camber), I have fig camber arm (upper&lower), toe arm and trac arm installed, and alignment done, but I still get that bump steer when I hit bumps on the highway. Why it's happening?!?!? do I need to change the outer tie rod then the issue will be fixed? Or is there anything I can do to fix the problem. Since Figs Engineering does not make outer tie rod for the 3rd GS, is Moog tie rod will be ok?

Every time I go over a speed bump faster then 2-3MPH There is this terrible thump / rattle that sounds like a rusted out 1993 Buick Riviera with blown out shocks.

Shortly after we got our 08 ls460 my gf asked if I had felt a weird brake issue. She said it was like the car would "jerk" or "bump". The way she described it was more like how a car with an auto tranny will "creep" if you aren't holding the brake pedal down firmly. Yesterday I was driving the car, with her in it. Stop at a light. All is well. Brake off, gas on to leave...It felt like someone hit us on the left rear of the car. I actually stopped and looked behind us to see what the hell happened. She says "that's the feeling I was telling you about". When we got the car I had it on a lift and noticed the left rear sway bar link was broken, but there was no damage to indicate a reason. I can't find anything else on this problem anywhere and can't tell if it's brake related or trans related. Our local lexus dealer is going to check it out on wed at 9am.
Calipers were in great shape when I did the brakes with no hanging or signs of trouble. Everything works like it should 99% of the time. But damn if that 1% won't scare you.

I have been experience some rough ride, and i am always in "comfort" mode for the air suspension. I have been changing the suspension over to "sport" for a mile or two then back into "comfort" and that seems to fix it for a day or so and then it goes rougher again.
I have also noticed when i am riding with the windows down that every time i hit a bump not only is there a jarring jolt, but also a squeak almost like a shriek that comes from presumably the suspension in the front ?
I would like to know if this is a sign of failing air bags, a bad compressor, bad sensors or even if the control arms are in question at this point. . .?

So far my pos 04 v8 has had a stepper motor changed, CD changer replaced and 4 new tires at 12000 miles! It's in the shop now for a new airbag harness
The steering wheel vibrates at speeds above 70mph on relatively smooth highways (my Wrx and the crappy Jetta rental I drove today showed no vibration to 90 mph on the same road.). The vibration is slight, but definitely there and noticeable if you take your hands off the wheel not a great way to drive at 75mph.
The dealership says they found no problem with steering wheel vibration.
My question is: is some vibration normal in this vehicle, given vehicle size, tire size, and crappy construction? I'm just not used to seeing any based on the Japanese cars I've always driven.

Every day I have to drive on highways and obviously I use the Cruise Control BUT sometimes it doesn't work. To make it work again, I have to stop , turn off the engine and then turn it on. After doing that, the cruise control works again... It is an intermittent problem. I have my car for 4 months and I have got this problem about 10 times. Am I the only one to have an intermittent problem with my cruise control ?

Driving down the highway I notice the car is fine on asphalt and any flat pavement but on grooved concrete highways I feel the car "wiggle" aka trammel. It has yokohama avids for tires on 15" rims and I am questioning if others have noticed this or if its my tires causing or should I look into suspension issues. This also happens on my Taurus which is heavier and bigger/wider tires and I know the suspension is tight on the taurus.
