Looking to just take off the cap to have wrapped in vinyl. Is there a way to get the cap only without having to remove the light fixture? I was also going to take it off early and try the plasti dip with glossifier to see if i can match the gloss black vinyl on the roof to avoid seams on the shark fin.
View 14 RepliesI recently got my UW F-Sport roof vinyl wrapped with gloss black. A local shop didn't want to wrap the antenna cover and recommended I get an obsidian black cover instead. So, I went to the dealership, ordered the part and now I have the cover. I looked up threads here on CL thinking it'd be an easy 5 minute DIY but apparently that's not the case. One member said he had to remove the interior c-pillar trims, part of the headliner etc. etc. Another said to just remove the rear seat light dome and someone else said the a dealership just prys it off. I tried the light dome, all I was able to get to were the bulbs.

My wife's 2010 ES 350 third brake light has an intermittent LED issue. The last 3 LEDs on the pass side flash on/off when the brake is depressed. My understanding is there may be a broken solder joint. My problem is I can't seem to get the assembly out. How the high mount assembly is mounted and how to remove it?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2014 Passat S 2.5 that I drove for a few months before I bought a Tahoe and my wife now drives the Passat. While I had it, it was paired to my phone. However, now that she drives it, every morning when she starts it, my phone buzzes because it's trying to make a connection. I read the manual back and forth, and I found out how to remove it, but unfortunately the MFD display in the middle of the instrument cluster isn't showing any phone info like the manual suggests. I also only have one set of steering wheel buttons, not both. So with this limitation, how in the world do I remove my phone from the stereo pairing?

it says in the ford manual to lift the plastic tabs then pull off, I did that easily with 3 on each side, but the end plug on each side (the one closest to the windshield) does not seem to have a liftable tab (it looks different to the others as its at the end of the cable)
I've almost broken it but not quite, its over $300 for new harness, ouch
I do have the odd little hook tool they sell for this, it worked with the other 3 for sure, but I've spent ages on the 4th on each side and cannot budge either of them
While installing a K&N air filter in my 2014 Prius Three 1.8L I noticed a charcoal pad in the air cleaner box. Might this be something of an impediment to air flow? I'm considering removing it to see if there is any performance boost.

I pull the seat bottoms up, and pulled the 12mm bolts to get the seat back off, I couldn't get the belts out, nor the through the deck lid.
