The little folding drawer/shelf inside my console popped loose and when I took the car in for scheduled maintenance, I asked the service dept to put it back together. They advised me that after trying to fix it for a while, it could not be repaired.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2012 Prius V, and somehow A tin of Altoids has fallen behind the drawer, (hidden drawer) of the center console. How to remove the drawer to access behind it?
I can't see any catch or release to trigger releasing the drawer. I also think accessing it by opening up the whole console from the top is risky as the EV, ECO, and PWR mode buttons are wired into it.
08 LS600hL. The cigarette/power outlet in center console shorts out instantly. I have changed the fuse a couple times. Tested several different plugs. The ashtray and rear console power outlets both work perfectly. Nothing else seems to have any issues, radio, windows, climate, etc.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2004 and 2007 Gen 2 and both have problems with the fabric covering on the pulling loss from under the edge. Originally there was just a small margin of fabric that tucked around and under the the padded top cover and was/is held by the plastic inter plate that is suppose to grip it and hold it tight over the outer edge and top. Nah! In both cars, it seems to have shrunk enough that it eventually pulls out of this friction grip of this lower plate. On the 2007, I re-did this by removing the inside screws and pushing the fabric back under this plate, but it is now coming loss again. I just got the 2004 and it was already loose on the front edge and there just isn't enough fabric margin to secure it again. Really seems to have shrunk over time and I conclude that is a problem common to both.
I wonder if there is a fix for this by just finding a fabric that will closely match the upholstery. I even considered some head liner fabric from one of my parts cars but found it was just a spray-on stuff on a molded liner panel. If I had a damaged seat I guess that would work but all of them are still use-able.
I've got a 2008 Ford F250 Superduty Crew Cab. My problem is that the center console of the front bench seat is loose. I keep it folded down nearly all the time and any pressure on the front left corner causes the rear right corner to pivot up.
View 3 RepliesMy '97 es300 (133k) popped up with a po773 code last night. I've read through a lot of threads and it doesn't seem like this is something i'll be able to fix right away. Should I go ahead and get a quick drain and fill?
Three starts later I turned on the car and it was off, quickly shut the car off and restarted and it was back on. About three starts since and it's been on every time. Although rare, this suggests intermittent? electrical?
I own a 2007 Lariat F150 with the 5.4 4x4. It has 96000 miles.
That being said. The other day I was driving and went through a pretty big mud hole on a county road (couldn't go around it). Following, very shortly, my truck bogged down and died. "Low Oil Pressure" popped up. I let it sit for a minute, and checked underneath to make sure that I hadn't popped a line or ripped something. I hadn't.
I start the truck up again, and started driving no issues, for about 3/4 of a mile, and again it died, and "LOP". So I let it sit for about 15 minutes, thinking about why it would have that pop up. Couldn't figure out anything. Started again. and had a really rough idle in between the 500-1500 RPM range.
I decided to change out the oil when I got home. I put in some 15-40, hoping that would solve the issue.
It hasn't still idles really rough, but won't shut down anymore. I didn't try driving it though because I was afraid it would die again.
I'm not sure if the spark plugs are bad, I don't think they've ever been changed (I know it's bad). I'm pretty sure that it's not a vacuum leak, but not 100%. I need this truck to run.
2009 ES350. Couple of months ago I have driving down the high way and a ton of light popped up on the dash. (CEL tracking VSC) After another 50 miles it developed a miss. Next morning the miss went away and it but all the lights were still on. Auto zone said misfire so I figured I need to change plugs(65k on the motor) well 100 miles into coming home the mis fire comes back. and we make it home. Next day same thing.....
I change the plugs.... disconnect the computer and it was good for a couple hundred miles and BAM!! it starts all over. CEL on... I noticed if I stay city driving it doesn't get to the miss fire point. but if I do any kind of highway driving it'll eventually develop a miss.
I check it again and it showed 2 and 4 mis fire, I picked up 3 coils put them all on the front. It ran good for 350 miles and bam here it is again. Last Sunday I started up the car and it just started misfiring at idle. well I went to check it at autozone coz it was really bad. and it had 4 cylinders misfiring total.
Well in the mean time getting it checked the light were on it wouldn't start. so I just bought a battery. (it had been having battery issues over the last couple months) I don't want wifey to be stranded somewhere with the baby.
I'm new to these news lexus's.. Ive had 2 Is 300's and my daughter has a gs 300. Do I need to use a specific spark plug for the 350? Would the dying battery contribute to this?
I did find the air box was not closed properly by the oil change company wifey uses. so I thought that was an issue but it cam one at the 350 mile mark. What else to try..
2014 LS460L "Check headlight system" error popped up. Since the RV mirror failed as well apparently the system is not getting the light sensor signal from the mirror and brings up the HL error. Where is the RV mirror fuse? I took off the fuse cover to the left under the steering column but can't find it. It's not practical to unplug and check all 26 fuses, owner manual is useless...
View 6 RepliesYesterday my passenger front window popped out of it's track. Then when we tried to pop it back in and get it to go back up, it completely popped out and up about 3 inches from the frame of the door. Enough to be able to fit a had through no problem.
I am taking the car in tomorrow to have it looked at and get a quote to fix. From what I've read, it's a super pricey fix. So bummed because I just bought the car about 6 weeks ago (if that) ...
I have 2007 ES350. I was driving then check engine light and VSC popped on. I went to autozone then they said p0776 & P0746. The car is still driveable. I can still drive it on the expressway. The shifting from 1-3 isn't smooth. I'm going to take it to a transmission shop.
View 3 RepliesSo I just had my transmission replaced because my cv axle popped loose and tore a hole right into my old one spilling all the tranny oil all over the road. I was able to find another used one and then bolt it up and now I have a small issue. Its been leaking a little bit of tranny oil through the one piece on the bottom that has two bolts on it and a VW logo on it.
View 5 RepliesSomehow, I managed to pop out the light module in the driver's side footwell. It still works, but was dangling loose by the cord. I stuffed it temporarilly behind the side trim panel, just to get it out of the way of the clutch.
It doesn't look damaged, but I can't see where/how this attaches to the structure in the footwell. I tried looking how the passenger side module is attached, but it's set into/covered by a trip panel the driver's side doesn't have.
I recently got myself a 2007 F150 XLT Supercab, love the truck, but I find myself needing to make a few mods. First up is the floor console. This is the small console sits atop the hump between the jump seat and the dash. It contains two cup holders and the 4x4 floor shifter.
First how does one remove the 4x4 shift, you need to in order to get the floor console off, the console itself lifts straight up, but the boot for the shifter is attached to it, so the only way I can see to remove it. However I can't for the life of me figure out how to remove it.
How do I remove the plastic shelf that is blocking my path to access the cabin air filter? The left side is easily removed by pushing the shelf up but I cannot remove the right side of the shelf.
View 8 RepliesI took apart the whole center console and then got to the harness which then I cut the speed sensor and then grounded the park brake bothe wires are violet/purple on the #59 harness which is the biggest harness on the back of the nav unit. It was working and everything was fine, I was ready to run wires for the double pole switch and then the DVD had no sound so then I tried several things and still didn't kick in so then I left it that way and waited till the morning and its like the DVD has a back up speed sensor that kicked in so when you come to a complete stop it works.
I know of another speed sensor 2 but that controls the nav so we dont mess with that wire.
Taking apart the car was easy 4 screws and 1.5million clips and snaps.
And in worse condition after having taken it in for routine maintenance. They also damaged the driver's side door, along the edge there are 8 little chips, one of them larger and very noticeable. They touched them up but the one is still visible. Very disappointing, this was my first tune-up.
Anyway I'm wondering, any product I can use to keep it from tearing more, or where I might look for a replacement. It's where the button is but the outer part is also tearing. I know a replacement won't be an exact match.. and I gave it a good look as I was getting out of the car today and noticed it seems to be yellowing.
This is why I never had a light interior. There are also stains - that of course weren't noticeable at first - on the drivers side seat, from the dye in blue jeans. I did manage to get most of it off w/mild soap and water.
It's a 2008 ES 350 UL.
I have checked the fuses, Checked the relays, Checked for pinched wires and checked for a loose connection at the fuse box, Both power mirrors and the overhead console lights do not work, Power windows work fine, Manual seats .
View 1 RepliesI recently purchased a 2009 CPO LS460 from my Lexus dealer and cannot get the Aux input in the center console to come up. When I plug my Ipod in, and I push the Disc/Aux button on the ML stereo, all I get is either the CD player or the HDD drive but the Ipod will not show up. Could the Aux jack be bad? I have tried several different cords and inputs (ipod, phone music, etc).
View 7 RepliesThe lid to the center console "pops up" constantly. The release button is so sensitive that it doesn't even have to been pushed down for the lid to pop open. The slightest touch to the button will make the lid open. It is such a nuisance! It will close and stay shut so I know it isn't broken. If I rest my arm on the lid it will sometimes pop open. Lexus made a poor design flaw on this by putting the button in such a touchy place.
View 3 RepliesMy 2007 F150. That jack wobbles in the hole and, when I plug in a cave, it does not make solid contact. What I am wondering is, does that little panel on top of the dash pop out of that hole to give access to the jack? I am wondering if I can tighten it and re-tension the contacts if I can just get behind that panel.
