I got a 2008 LS460L. I replaced the daytime running lights but they flicker and don't stay on.. I'm looking to change them again any brand which works best. I want 6000k in headlights and fog lights.

View 17 RepliesIs it possible if Lexus can make it so when the Daytime running lights are on that the tail lights come on? It appears MASS has just passed a law when it is raining and you have your windshield wipers on you have to have your lights on...I leave mine on Auto and have auto windshield wipers so kinda takes away the purpose if I have to turn my lights all the way on each time.

View 6 RepliesI am attempting to wire a set of LED daytime running lights and was hoping to go through the fuse box. No luck so far trying to find a 12 volts that turns on when the key is turned.I have tried to tie into the fuse on both the radio fuses and the fog light fuse.There is 12 volts even when the key is not turned so when I wired the lights off these fuses , it would light the leds all the time. Is there another fuse box?
View 1 RepliesSo I have a PCS fault on my 2008 LS460L and brought it to my local Lexus Dealership....They basically insist that the data controller is/may be causing the PCS fault.
In the meantime, I guess the most probable action is to disconnect the data controller and see if the problem goes away.....
I am having problems starting my car. It takes 5 or 6 tries . It will not turn over it will just click under the hood. I scanned the code and it showed the crankshaft sensor code. Would this be correct or could it be the starter or starter components. It is a 2008 LS 460

As a longtime Camry owner I am used to with replacing light bulbs by myself. is it possible to do this one by myself?Current configuration of bulb as per manual: Halogen Bulb, H7, W55.
I have a 2008 LS460L and the front driver's and passenger's windows have wind noise, sometimes worse than others. I also drove a 2007 which experienced the same problem. It is still under warranty, but not sure if there is anything which can be done. Not sure how a car with doubled panned windows can have so much wind noise.
View 14 RepliesMy 2008 LS460L blows cold air on cold days/nights when the engine is idling. Raising the RPM to about 1500 causes heat to start to flow out of the air ducts. I also hear a gurgling sound behind the dash when accelerating normally from idle. The water pump was replaced by Lexus in late April 2014.
I have checked the coolant reservoir (engine cold) and found it to be slightly below the "LOW" coolant level mark (not empty). It would seem that since the feed from the coolant reservoir is on the bottom of the reservoir, as long as there is some coolant in the reservoir, the rest of the system should be full.
All things considered, are the two issues (no heat & gurgling sound) more likely to be caused by low coolant in the system, the relatively new water pump, or something else? BTW, what is the proper method to top off the coolant in a 2008 LS460L? Are there any special bleed ports for eliminating air pockets?
Just noticed that the passenger side daytime running light is out. There is no warning message shown on the dash? Is this normal?

This message displays on and off about every other day. Yesterday, I hooked an OBD2 scanner up and discovered the following error code history:
P0171 : System Too Lean Bank 1
P0174 : System Too Lean Bank 2
P0022 : "A" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Retarded Bank 2
P0335 : Crankshaft Position Sensor "A" Circuit
P2195 : 02 Sensor Biased/Stuck Lean Bank 1 Sensor 1
Every now and then the engine will run a little rough, but usually at low RPM, and (again) not very often. The car has 166,000 miles of mostly highway driving.
I have a 2008 LS360L with 4-zone climate control. For whatever reason, the rear seat controls and display do not work for climate control. The controls still work for radio, rear seat adjustment and window shades, but climate functions are unoperable.
Additionally, the 4-zone buttons on the nav touchscreen are now missing in the climate menu. There used to be left / right passenger settings and then a button to switch to rear seat settings. These options have all disappeared from the menu.
I can press the 4-zone physical button on dash and manually change temperature settings for driver or passenger by pressing physical driver / passenger temperature up / down buttons.
The only thing I can attribute to this is I had the dealer do a map upgrade to the nav system. All other features / functions work, but the timing is somewhat suspect... They really do not believe this upgrade caused the problem.
Are there hidden menus I may have hit to deactivate this feature?
After starting my truck the dash warning lights (oil, battery, brake, low fuel) stay lit and flicker for 20-30 seconds then go out with the exception of the battery light. It remains dimly lit for 2-3 minutes before finally going out. The battery and alternator have tested OK. I cleaned the battery ground connections andreplaced the check light relay. Still the same situation. '86 Nissan Hardbody Pickup ....
View 1 RepliesBegan doing this on sunday and just finished up last night. Truck starts and runs for a bit then stalls. Here is what I did in this order:
1.) Washed truck sundday with purple power and a garden hose. I washed the wheel wells frame and underside, but DID NOT wash the engine at all.
2.) Painted the frame and wheel wells with black paint.
3.) Applied 1/2 gallon or so of fluid film all over the bottom of the truck everywhere I can. Again NOT the engine bay.
Where to start. When it stalled, I can restart every time by waiting 3-5 minutes. It was 13 degrees F last night, so i suspect fuel lines may be freezing but not sure.
LS460 L ... Re-wiring fog lights to come on with only parking lights? How did you do it. Do fog lights also stay on now with brights?

Part of the Canadian RIV import requirements was to have daytime running lights installed in the car. I figured since I'd have Canadian Tire do it because they're also the ones doing the provincial and federal inspections. I have the base model gti so I don't have buttons on my steering wheel. the manual says to push the left wand down and to the back. then turn on the ignition for three seconds......doesn't do anything. I am thinking they left out a step or forgot something counting wise?
View 19 RepliesI've never been a fan of daytime running lights, useless option that shortens the life of the bulbs. My Audi A8L had an option in the MMI that would allow you to turn the DRL's off. Is there a similar option on the 04 Phaeton W12? Or is there a fuse I can pull? Or is VAG-COM the only way (I don't have one yet - not in my immediate budget)?
