Lexus LS 2007+ :: TPMS Can Be Shut Off?
Feb 6, 2012
Are we able to recalibrate our speedometers. Mine is about 5mph off. And can we shut off our TPMS? I remember 10 yrs ago I was able to in my old 745.

View 14 RepliesI bought a new set of wheels with new TPMS and need programing it.. is there anyway i can do it myself. or i have to bring it to the dealer?
View 4 RepliesTPMs warning light on. I was wondering is the reason the TPMs warning light is on because I don't currently have a spare tire in the trunk i have the tire i mean but no wheel. and the sensor is just sitting in my glove box until the new wheel comes in.
View 4 RepliesWhat is the specific location of the tpms transmitters. For example, where on the car is id4 located?
View 5 RepliesMy 2007 ES350 had a problem with the TPMS where it would flash for the first minute and then stay solid. After checking all 5 tire pressures and resetting the system by using the button under the drivers side dash, I determined that it was probably a bad sensor. Seeing as how they are 7 years old, this seemed reasonable. (I also checked to make sure the passenger side button for the second set of tires was not pushed).
I just had new tires installed at Costco, and brought 5 new sensors for them to install. They supposedly did whatever sensor registration magic is required, but I am still having the same issue. The light blinks for the first minute then goes solid.
What is interesting is that when I try to reset using the button, the light flashes slower (about 1 per second) 3 times, then goes faster (about every half second or so) for the rest of the minute. Is this some code that the system is trying to display?
Also, is there any trick to getting this system re-initialized that I can pass on to the Costco techs when I take it back up there?
2009 Lexus ES ... Just put my summer tires/wheels back on and how do I make the low tire pressure light to go off? These wheels have sensors that were registered at the dealer when purchased ... Do I have reset the system by deflating to the trigger point or should the computer remember the data from last fall when I took them off?
View 16 RepliesI have an 09 ES 350 that I decided to put some very nice subwoofers and amp in. When I found out that I needed more power, I took out my spare tire and mounted a second battery in where the tire is supposed to go.
We'll sure enough when I drove the car later the TPMS light came on and started flashing. The system has to be able to read all 5 TPMS sensors. 4 tires and the spare. So when I took the spare tire out, the system thought there was something wrong with that sensor and turned the light on.
So what I did was I took a piece of PVC pipe and 2 PVC caps, drilled a hole in one of the caps, inserted a new TPMS sensor into the cap, then glued everything together.
After it dried I pressurized it to 35 psi, mounted it in my trunk next to the jack, and reset the TPMS system so the light would go off. Now the TPMS system thinks the spare tire is back and there are no more problems.
I have a 07 gs350 monday morning i woke up to go to work and the car started then shut right off i tried a second attempt and it cranked but died out i tried again and instead of turning on the radiator fan turns on high. I disconnect the battery after and plugged it back in to start and it still wont start only the radiator fan turns on high there also also s check vsc light on after all this no check engine light. My battery is brand new too...
View 14 RepliesHave a 2007 LS460L. Recently, I notice when I start the engine, it would start and then, in a fraction of a second, it will shut off. I then have to start over again. This is happening too frequently to be something I'm doing wrong.
Took it to the local Lexus dealership and they could not reproduce it, but told me they have had similar complaints from other owners, including other models as well, with keyless starters.
My 2007 lexus es 350 engine will not shut off after I push the off button.
The everything goes off except the engine and the dash lights. I have to disconnect the battery to shut off the engine. The car does not have a remote start. could it be a relay and if so which one.
Last night I left the car battery disconnected and then this morning reattached and everything seemed fine. I started the car and let it fun for a couple minutes and then pushed the button and the car shut off. Then about 2o minutes later the alarm went off. The remote would not respond so I started the car and the alarm went off. Then I pushed the button to turn it off and the same problem occurred.
My old LS430 allowed me to close the mirrors when I turned off the car. My 2007 only lets me close the mirrors when I lock the car outside. Can these mirrors be reprogrammed to close when I shut my car off like my 2005 LS430 did?
View 9 RepliesThe CHECK VSC light and traction light came on in my vehicle. I called the dealership, made first available appointment, and asked if car was okay to drive. The service man said "Yes, as long as the signals are not flashing" so I made my trip to Walmart and five miles from the house the car shut itself off, in like a stall mode with no power. Additionally, smoke was coming out from right side of hood. A gentleman stopped and said "you're overheated..." All gauges appeared normal but the battery light came on. Tow company took to dealership but I am petrified of what I have read and thinking the engine is fried!!!! I can't sleep because I'm worried of thousands of dollars of damage. There are 150k miles on it.
View 1 RepliesIs there a way to shut off the TPMS? Can you adjust the working pressures? My 2016 F350 which I have had now for 3 weeks, has 65psi in the front and the rear is 80psi. which empty rides like a rock. I want to lower it down to 60psi (rear). This made a heck of a difference on my 2008 Dually. Think that will cause a light?
View 10 RepliesSo a few days ago I started to notice at night when I pulled in the garage and shut the door turned the car of and got out that there is a weird buzzing notice comming from front near the grill and headlamps area . At first I thought maybe the fan but no it's more of an electrical static buzzing.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2007 ES350 and my trunk decided to stay shut today, right when I arrived at work with stuff in the trunk.... The keyfob doesn't work, the button on the trunk doesn't work and the button inside the car doesn't work.
There is no clicking sound, it doesn't seem to be moving the switch. I can open the trunk using a long stick and pulling the emergency lever. I have checked the valet and that is not the problem.
I have disconnected the battery multiple times. Apart from losing all my settings this did not work for trunk issue. I pulled the fusebox and don't see a "trunk release" fuse. I see a fuel OPN but no trunk..... My fuel door works fine. I am going to check every fuse after I get off work.
Today as I was driving on the freeway my radio randomly shut down and turned back on. it was a complete power down as if I was turning the car on. I believe I seen the dash also do a system check. I also think I felt the power steering turn on and off for a split second. very odd. I almost feel the entire car shut down for a split second.
View 14 RepliesI recently came across a problem that is not a big deal but enough to irritate me. When I engage the parking brake it will shut the radio off. I cant see to see how the two systems are related to one another. I don't have the brake light lit on my dash indicating anything is wrong with my brakes. I have tried to reset the navigation system a few number of times but the problem is still there.
View 2 RepliesI have this weird electric motor noise that comes from the rear a few seconds after I shut my car off (I don't have the leveling air suspension). I also hear it in the engine compartment on occasion when the engine is shut off (I've heard it hours after the car is off). It lasts for a couple of seconds and it's gone. I do have the car set on auto ebrake. That's the only thing I can think of causing the noise...like the cable loses tension and the motor tightens it, but I don't really know.
View 14 RepliesI was told that with remote start I would be able to start the car but when I open the door it would shut off and then it would push start. I have a 2011 ES 350. My ls gmc yukon and has no problem but it doesn't have this push button. I want to have a remote installed in my wifes car didn't think it was going to be a problem.
View 14 RepliesMy friend bought two new tires for her car, and had all the wheels rotated. When she went to the toyota, they said they need $100 bucks, just to reset my TPMS sensor.. which is something so simple. There are few videos on YouTube that details how to reset the TPMS sensor...
So I followed all the steps. I bought a tire pressure sensor (*a nice digital one), I put air in the tires (30 on all 4), i put the car ignition on ON, put the parking brakes on, and pressed the TPMS switch, saw the three blinks,.. and I thought it would stop coming after that... But Nope. It started right back on and started blinking.
Now I am not sure what to do? Car is a 2007 Camry.
I had a new wheel mounted by my local Mavis. They said they were unable to save the sensor valve from the old rim and sold me a new sensor. I received the car with the (S) low pressure light lit, Mavis saying that the car would reset after a few miles and if it didn't to return. Well, that light went out but the "TPMS" light then lit up and would not go out. I returned several days later and they checked with their tool and confirmed that the sensor they just installed was defective. They then replaced the sensor now telling me that the new sensor worked, they checked it and "activated" it. However, the TPMS light was still lit. They now said it "should reset". It has not.
