The passenger side HID bulb of my 2005 RX330 need to be replaced, how to? Also there is condensed water in the assembly. I am going to replace it later. Where are other screws beside two on the top?
View 14 RepliesRecently my 05 RX330 had the driver side low beam bulb go out. I took it to a few places and they said take it to the dealership as they have special tools to change it. Of course I took it there and they were ready to charge me an arm and a leg to get 1 little bulb replaced. My question is do you have recommendations as to what I should do to get this fixed and not have my wallet get destroyed?

where best place to start looking for what's causing p0442 code on my 2005 rx330? and its not the gas cap... also have a "c" code identified for the VSC light, states that its wheel speed sensor. evidently wrote the wrong code down, i had it listed as a c1290 but in looking them up i couldn't find that one.

I got extended maintenance warranty to 100k miles, but bulbs, I don't think so. I just noticed today that both were out on low beam, high beam are fine. Should I take car to dealer? or is this something I can do myself?

View 6 RepliesI have a 2006 Toyota Prius. I bought it last year at a Toyota dealership. No long after having the car, the head light would go off sporadically, but would come back on if I turn the car off and back on. Now the entire right side, both the head light and fog light are out. I have a 2006 Prius. I looked online and apparently this is a known issue. There was even a law suit against Toyota, for not recalling the cars and costing owner's hundreds of dollars in repairs.
I took the car in, last summer while the car was still under warranty, when I had to get the 12V battery replace, and told the tech about the issue with the head light. They found "nothing wrong"The problem kept happening and became more often. Now that both sides are off and won't come on at all, I called the dealership, they want to charge me almost $300 to change the bulb!
I saw videos online that show how to do this in about 5 min (changing the bulb) without having to take the bumper off, which is what the dealer told me they had to to. I know it is a lot of info, just to ask, would it be safe, or how safe would it be to change the bulb my self? I would of course be wearing gloves to make sure I don't touch the bulb.
The headlight on the driver's side has burned out, should i move the battery in order to get to the bulb?
View 3 RepliesInstalled Kenwood DDX7701HD unit and I have lost right side speakers. Used Metra Axxess TYTO-1 harness along with ASWC-1. Also had bad battery cell and replaced battery. I get plenty of sound from drivers area but when I adjust balance to right there is no sound at all there. At this point my ASWC-1 cycles through but isn't recognizing radio. That issue can wait unless it is part of this issue.

How did you do it? Under the front bumper, or pulling back the wheel well covers?
I had the heater core flushed, inspection done, a tie rod end replaced, and both low beams replaced to pass inspection in January. The driver's side low beam stopped working after a week.
When I would hit a bump in the road, it would start working for a while till I hit another bump and then it would go off. Now the driver's side low beam never works.
I could have gone back to the mechanic, but it's an 80 mile round trip(they used to be a lot cheaper than the dealership). Now that the weather is starting to get better, do you think it's a simple problem that I can fix myself? I don't want to waste 80 miles worth of gas just to have them charge me for something that they already charged me to fix. The next time I'm due an oil change I may go there and demand that they fix the light too, but I'm not going to waste 80 miles of gas just for the light.
It appears that the security system is somehow shut down. None of buttons on wireless FOB [main key] is working to open the door etc. even though the red indicator lights up. If I use the key, it opens the doors fine. The powerdoor controls inside the car are working fine. I did notice that security light on the dashboard is not blinking anymore.
The car was idle for three-four weeks and it didn't start so I gave a jump with portable unit. Could that do any damage to fuse etc.?
Whenever I put my 05 RX 330 into reverse the door mirrors do not angle down. I just bought this vehicle 3 weeks ago and when I first got it they worked fine. Did my wife or myself accidentally turn this feature off? Is there a way to check them?
View 4 RepliesI have Rx 330 2005 AWD, recently we dont have winters, so I don't need 4x4 . Is it possible to drive without the back drive shaft? It very easy to remove it, but is it save for e.g. differential or other mechanisms? By the way I could reduce fuel consumption, I think, 18miles/gallon is really too much for polish realities.
