Lexus GX 2004-09 :: Steering Wheel Shaking / Vibration On Comfort Mode At About 55 To 60mph

I'm getting some vibration and steering wheel shake with my '04 GX... I have a 2004 GX with the differential dynamic damper installed. About 55-60mph it starts, and shakes the steering wheel back and forth. Sometimes it's completely smooth, but on other road surfaces it shakes. On full "comfort mode," the shake is much worse, but on Sport mode it dampens the shake to about 10% intensity, but it's sometimes still there. This is not bump steer, by the way.

So far, I've done:

-Brakes
-Alignment
-Front hubs
-2x wheel balancing with 2 different sets of wheels/tires
-lubed the drive shaft and prop shaft to fix the clunk (Clunk TSB has not been done)
-changed the power steering fluid
-checked all control arm bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, and sway bar bushings. All are solid.

I recently jacked up the front end and moved the wheels back and forth by hand. It seems like there is some looseness coming front the inner tie rods. However, I pushed and pulled and can't get a clunk or anything. I think it's coming from inside the steering gearbox. My VIN says it's before ST002-05, so that TSB aka "Steering Flutter" would apply, if it is that.

After 104k, are the front shocks due for a change? It does seem to nose-dive a bit on braking, but the shocks aren't leaking or anything. Would worn shocks cause steering wheel flutter on these trucks?

Lexus ES 2007-12 :: Vibration / Shaking At 40 - 45 And 70 - 80 Mph

So, I started my journey in getting vibrations out of my car at the dealer (I know, I know, but it's CPO) - had rotors resurfaced, brake job, fluid flushed etc. That worked with pedal pulsing etc.

Now, fast forward 6 months - still have a notable shake at times 40-45, 70-80mph indicated. Took it back to dealer; tires are shot - I figured just a rotate, balance and align would be the cure. I bit the bullet, put on some MXVs and got the car aligned - again, at the dealer. Old tires had the edges fully worn (outside).

Today, after a 200 mile drive, the vibrations are back, and I REALLY don't want to go back to my dealer a third time to resolve this - in addition to not wanting to destroy a brand new set of tires. Who can I turn to to get this under control?

Lexus LX 2008+ :: 2010 LX570 - Vibration / Shaking At All Speeds

I'm four weeks into my 2010 LX570. From first day, I've had vibration/shaking at all speeds--the shaking/vibration is not in the steering wheel like a few others have described. The vibration/shaking is similar to what one experiences going over a railroad track in a small/lightweight vehicle, except it happens on all types of roads and at all speeds.

Two trips to two different tire installers and one trip to Toyota (the closest Lexus dealer is a couple hours for me) to speak with their Lexus-certified mechanic and it was chalked up to the Dunlop tires. The Dunlops had excessive road force (three were between 28 and 45). Three separate sessions with Lexus Customer Relations, and nearly two weeks with Lexus of Orlando (they were extraordinary, even though I did not purchase from them), all four tires were replaced with Michelins, road force balanced to less than 8 each, and the vehicle extensively tested. They bent over backwards and were exceptional. While the problem has been minimized, I still feel the vibration/shake.

I'm coming out of years with several Range Rovers, but every other vehicle I have does not vibrate/shake, from my Tundra on up. I just spent two weeks in an ES300 and it was rock solid, at half the weight and half the cost. Additionally, none of my Land Cruisers (previous generation to the current) were anything like this. The LX is a great vehicle, but the vibration/shake is a real issue.

Lexus IS 2014+ :: Shaking / Vibration At Low Speeds When Pulling Into Park Or Backing Out

I've had my IS 250 F-Sport for exactly 6 months now, and over the last month I've noticed that when I'm pulling in to park or backing out (at a very low speed) with my steering wheel turned right or left from the center, I hear and feel some shaking/vibration from the car. I can't pinpoint if it only happens with the A/C on.

I live about 3 hrs away from my Lexus dealer now, and my first maintenance appointment is at the end of the month. I'm pretty disturbed. I have about 4500 miles on the car.

Saturn - Vue :: 2004 V6 Shaking And Vibration From Front End?

Several months ago already, when I am driving up any type of slight incline, usually it happens between 2 and third gear shifting, It is an automatic, I can feel a vibration that comes through the pedal , and floor board. It actually makes the whole front end of the car shake, almost like a tremor. Over time it has gotten worse. Now when I'm sitting at a light it has a noise it makes and also rattles. It sounds somewhat like I'm grinding on the muffler, or transmission. I don't know what it is.

My truck had a slight vibration at idle today and what i noticed the most was i was looking at the top of the motor and i noticed that the fluid in the power steering reservoir was shaking back and forth like i was shaking the container. Is this from the vibration or is the power steering system vibrating. I have had this truck for two weeks and it has 135k on it. It is the 5.4 motor...

Lexus GX 2004-09 :: Changed The Brakes / Shaking Persists

Part of the reason I changed the brakes was due to shaking upon applying brakes. I figured it was a warped rotor.

I just completed a complete brake change consisting of:

Rebuilt Calipers Front and Rear

New Centric rotors Front and Rear

New Centric Ceramic pads Front and Rear

Flushed fluid

I made sure the hubs were brushed down / clean as well as properly torqued the wheels.

Unfortunately the shaking is still there. Now I'm thinking it might be a bearing.

Truck is an 05 with 113k on it.

Lexus GX 2004-09 :: 2005 GX470 Shaking While Driving When Accelerating Above 20 - 25 MPH

I have a 2005 GX470 with about 50K miles. Over the last few weeks it started exhibiting a weird problem. When accelerating above 20-25 MPH it starts shaking. Not the steering wheel. The entire car is shaking as if driving over rocks. It is pretty annoying, and I am now concerned as it seems to have gotten somewhat worse than before.

Tires are rebalanced and rotated, so i dont thing it is that. My wife is freaking out, as she is driving it with 2 small kids.

Lexus GX 2004-09 :: Steering Wheel Shaking / Vibrating On Braking At High Speed

Lately my 2007 GX470's steering wheel has a shaking/vibrating problem whenever I apply the brake at speed above 50 mph or so. Without braking or with braking at slower speed, there is no problem at all -- everything is glass smooth.

1. I assume the front brake rotor is warped?
2. Will I need to change the rotor or is there a way to fix the warp (it that's the problem) without changing the rotor?
3. Approximate part & labor cost?

I plan to bring to dealer for a check up but would like to know ahead of time what to expect.

Lexus GX 2004-09 :: Shaking Steering Wheel And Pulsing Brake Pedal At Speeds Above 55mph

I bought 09 GX-470 4K miles ago..has 50K on it. Ran perfect when we bought it. wife said it started doing it 1 week later. I drove it and felt like warped rotors to me. replaced front rotors and pads with cheap wearever brand...I Know...I was sort of trouble shooting..did nothing ...did the back rotors and pads and seemed to fix it..did proper bed-in of new parts but, never checked at speeds above 55mph. recent trip got us up to speeds above 55... at these faster speeds when brakes are applied we get a nasty wheel wobble and a pulsing pedal...braking below 55 it feels fine.. thought's ?? last car was a 4runner which has the the same rotors and pads and never had a problem...could it be ABS ?? should I go with new oem rotors and pads ?

Ford Transmission :: Shaking / Vibration Between 45 - 50 Mph

I have owned my truck for 2 yrs now and put close to 100K on it. It has always had a slight vibration which I attributed to tires and/or one rim that requires a lot of weight to balance correctly.

In the past 4-5 months the vibration has become much worse, between 45-50 mph the truck would literally shake you out of the seat. I decided to pull the drive shaft out and have new u-joints installed and have it balanced. 2 hrs after dropping the drive shaft off at the repair shop, the owner calls me to say the tube is dented and he offers to re-tube the drive shaft for half his normal price. basically he cuts the flanges off the old shaft and welds old flanges on a new tube.

I have a new rear drive shaft that balanced out perfectly. Its so pretty, I don't want to install it in the truck.

Lexus GX 2004-09 :: 2008 - Vibration At 70 - 80

My wife and I purchased a 2008 GX with 60K miles. The day we left the dealer we noticed a vibration at 70-80. We were recommended two tires which we had installed that day but that did not fix the problem. Those were Bridgestone tires. When I took it back in they told me that they were the Toyota version not Lexus and recommended I purchase two more but suggested I switch to Cooper as they said they were better tires.

I took the vehicle in to my friendly local Lexus dealer and informed them of the problem. They kept it for a couple days, performed a bulletin with the drive shaft. The vibration was still present so they said that one of the new tires had a sidewall stiffness of 37, which signifies a bad tire. They stated they went over the vehicle and they could not find any issue except for the tires.

Vibration - Suzuki - Xl7 :: 2002 - Shaking As Go Past 55 Mi/h

I've had my 2002 Suzuki XL7 for 7 years and about 3 months ago, I noticed that as I go past 55 mph, my car creates this vibration that almost makes me think that it is trying hard to run.

Took it to the mechanic and they diagnosed after test driving and lifting it up that the wheels needed replacement. As it turns out when the car was running while lifted, the rear driver's wheel wobbled. The tires were fairly new, about 3 years old. They suspected some cord separation inside. I went and had all four wheels replaced but the vibration was still there. I took it back and they think rear differential is the problem, either the bearings need to be replaced or the whole differential axle.

The mechanic drained the differential fluid and showed me how it was almost metallic in color. The cost of replacing the bearings is $1100; to replace the whole differential with a used 88K miles, no warranty is $1400 and $1700 with warranty. What do you think is another possible diagnosis for it. I just did not want this to be another wheel incident where it didn't solve the problem. I heard that since it's a 4WD that it may be the drive train also.

Chevrolet - Corvette :: 1986 - Vibration And Shaking At 65 - 75 Mph

I have 1986 Gold Corvette, which now has Antique Virginia Plates. I had a terrible Vibration at 65 - 75 MPH that would shake the car so bad I could not drive it more than 20 minutes and I could not tell if it was in the front or the back.

I had the following installed: Front and Rear Wheel Bearing/Hub Assembly (Timken), Front and Rear Brake Rotors, Front and Rear Rebuilt Calipers, Front and Rear Hawk/ Wellman HPS Brake Pads and four Stainless Steel Brake Hoses.

Now the vibration is about half-gone, but still shakes the GoldVette at 65 - 75 MPH, and I still cannot tell if it is in the front or the back.

A few years ago, I replaced the Rack-in-pinion and Tie Rod Ends. What do I replace next to eliminate the vibration so that I can drive it about 100 miles?
