Is there a way to increase the volume of the buzz sound when locking the door with the remote? It has been bothering me for a while. Every time I lock the door with a remote as I am walking away from the car, I need to listen very carefully for the almost inaudible buzz sound so I am sure the door is locked. I searched in the settings but didn't find where it can be changed.
BTW, it is a 2014 RX350.
New owner of 2014-RX350. I have figured out most stuff simply using the owners manual (go figure), but this one continues to stump me, as I have repeated the procedure right out of the owners manual without success.
Manual states to have only one fob or card present, car in park, "ignition on" position (I interpret this as two pushes to the ignition switch), push desired memory button and hold while pushing either lock or unlock button till chime sounds. I get the chime. But when I lock the door, wait a minute, and unlock the door by touching the handle, the car unlocks just fine, but seat does nothing. When I manually push L2 (in my case), the seat does indeed move into position. But I cannot for the life of me get this function to work.
Any way to increase the max volume on a 2009? My main issue is with the AUX in channel, it doesn't have the same power that the radio and CD player have.
View 2 RepliesMy gas lid will not shut flush. When I lock the doors it makes a loud sound as if it is having a hard time catching the lock. The lock still catches but its still not flush. When the car is unlocked and I shut the door I can just pull it open without pushing on it as it is not sitting flush. I checked for anything that may be in the way of the hinge and all seems normal.

Once I press trunk close button on back of trunk, it seems have to wait until it closes before I can lock he entire car and walk away?
If I press the lock button too early, I get the alarm.
I bought a 6,000 mile RX back in december and notice the vibration at slow acceleration.
It sounds like it's coming from the rear of the vehicle. It stops when it gets up to speed. I looked for anything lose and don't notice anything underneath.
I'm not too impressed with my local dealer so far to have them look at it. It sounds as if something is loose inside the muffler. It does not vibrate upon rapid acceleration.
I am on my third RX now with my 2014 RX350. Previous to this car I had a 2007 RX400H which I loved. I find this new car much noisier when on pavement than my RX400H. Noticed the interior noise on the 2014 to be quite loud. I compared to my wifes Mercedes ML350 also a 2014 too and it's much louder.
View 10 RepliesI have a 2014 RX350 and the brake pedal rattles when I use it. It seems to be loose at the pivot point way up under that dash but I can't get to it. It seems to have excessive movement side to side otherwise it works as it should.
View 6 RepliesI have no speed control going downhill with CC at all. Dealer says this is normal. I've had two other Lexus GS models and when going downhill they would downshift and use the engine to maintain a constant speed. My Mercedes does the same thing when going downhill it downshifts to maintain a relatively constant speed. Is this normal with the RX? if so, what a disappointment.

View 1 RepliesReplacing license plate bulb on a 3rd gen rx? I tried taking off the interior lining on the rear hatch but no luck. There's access covers for taillight & reverse, but none for license plate light. I also tried "popping" out the plate light cover right above the license plate... don't think they are designed to be popped out.
View 3 RepliesI have azera 2006 , originally i don't have buzzer sound on lock/unlock the car by remote. so i get a siren horn 12v and i tried to connect this one to the car motor locking(front right side),when i tried it gave me sound on lock or on unlock not with both ways.finally i failed to do it and i decide to cancel that. after that i had a problem, when i lock the car by remote, there is no indication lights coming tells that the car is locked, but the doors are locked except there is no light from the turn signs and if you try to open the trunk it will open, that should not be. Also, if you are inside the car and the car is on, if some one open or close the right door the car will make 3 times door unlocking. So, i think shortage happened to the module or to some sensors so the system not close the circuit.
Is this car has a control module for key less entry or that combined with bcm.
Do i need to change the module or bcm?
Do i need to reprogram the keys?
I am getting a strange chirping sound from the engine (during idle) on my 7 month old RX350..Is this pretty common ... experienced a strange howling engine sound when you accelerate the car( E.g. when you are going at 30 mph and want to speed to 60 mph), I can hear this when I turn off all the noise (radio) and drive on a quiet street...
View 14 RepliesI just got my new 2014 RX350 a few weeks ago. After these weeks drive, I feel the Brake is kind of soft and unsensitive.
When I braking, the first part of the brake pad feels soft and the braking is not very efficient, until I push a lot of the brake pad, the braking becomes confident and efficient.
I used to drive my 2006 Nissan altima , and feels the brake pad is very sensitive. My new lexus makes me a little bit unconfident when following a car in a short distance.
I checked my rx350 battery health and it is good. Still I am having recurrent issues when battery dies. And needs a restart. It happened many times and last one just happened this morning and I have feeling that this is related to rear hatch door...let me explain what happened:
Yesterday evening I went for grocery shopping and opened the rear hatch door using my car key remote, kept the groceries and closed the rear hatch using the button on the bottom of rear hatch door. I drove back to home and parked the vehicle in the garage. This morning I opened the rear hatch again and closed it, drove it to a house one block away, returned home and parked the car.
When I tried to start 1 hour later, the battery had already died. So, I have a feeling that opening and closing the rear hatch door 3 times caused this battery drain.
I'm not sure this is by design but the buttons for sunroof and garage door are not illuminating at night. I would like to know if your vehicles have the same behavior. I try to look for any info in the manual but can't find anything. I thought there would be a switch somewhere that turns this on and off but I can't find it anywhere either. My brother-in-law has a 2012 Toyota Sienna van and these buttons do light up at night while my 2012 RX350 does not. I find it interesting for a luxury vehicle.

View 8 RepliesMy 2013 RX350 (all-wheel) has a super annoying droning sound when pressing gas pedal - it is not the smooth-humming but a kind of low cat-purring sound that is more pronounced when in low RPMs. The dealership can't tell the problem, Lexus Field Specialist acknowledged the sound and said I am not the first one to complain about it, but he doesn't think anything wrong with it. According to him, this is not the sound of the engine, but the exhaustion system. My overall experience with RX350 is not as good as I had expected: it is nosier than my previous highlander, it is also nosier than my wife's Odyssey.

View 4 RepliesI have a 2011 RX350 and recently noticed rattling sound coming from inside the glove compartment.
I think it comes from the plastic cover of the aircon filter at the back of the glove compartment. This cover seems bit loose even when installed back properly and the vibration (especially when driving over uneven roads) is causing the rattling sound.
I know it's a minor problem but the rattling sound can get irritating at times. My temporary fix is to push back the heavy owner's manual on that cover to prevent vibration.
First time Lexus and RX350 owner. Not familiar with the new type of shift gear. When I shifted the gear from Park to Reverse straight down instead of moving to the right first, the vehicle would jerk and make a thud sound. Not sure if this would have damaged anything. After I have get used to moving the gear to the right first before shifting down, I would still sometimes have this jerk/thud. But if I do the whole shift movement (shift the right first) real quick then the chance of getting the jerk/thud is much less. Is it a manufacture defect or just I am not doing it properly?
