We were on a long drive on the motorway and suddenly noticed that the dashboard lights went out. The clock and GPS map were dark. They came back on but would intermittently go off. The dealer will be checking this for us (it is a new 450h, we have now 3000 miles on it; it is 9 months old. Perhaps a loose connection ? (We love this car but still not familiar with all of the electronics!)...

View 5 Replies2000 passat GLX, tip, 2.8L v6... new brake pads and freshly turned rotors, but both the "ABS" light and the "BRAKE" lights come on intermittently whilst driving. It doesn't happen every time it's driven, just maybe 1/3-1/2 of the time, and it is only on for a bit before it turns off, but it will usually turn on again later for a short stint as well.
View 3 RepliesAll the service lights will blink and flash whilst driving. After turning the car off and restarting the radio and clock all reset and the dash lights are gone. The car starts right up with no problem. I checked fuses and none are blown. What may be causing this? It is a 2009 Santa Fe 2.7. It has approx. 95,000 miles. The battery is a couple of years old.
View 7 RepliesI have an RX 450H and noticed that there is a squeaking sound coming from the dashboard. I looked at other posts where people were experiencing similar issues and noticed one post where someone had a GS 450H and fixed this issue by adding felt between the dashboard and the windscreen.
I would like to know whether this method works 100% and whether I can apply this method to the RX 450H. The noise becomes worse when it is cold and especially when the car is being driven over rough road surfaces and speed bumps.
My main aim whilst driving my 2005 SC430 is to tell the nav unit to navigate home (more on that later).
Despite speaking loudly, softly, slowly, faster, etc, etc - if fails to ever recognise 'home'.
I get fm radio, am radio, heads up, etc, etc
Is there anyway to actually get this to work?
On the same note, read lots of apparently different hacks to disable the lock on inputting a new destination whilst driving - but none seem to work.
Mount auxiliary driving lights (e.g. PIAA, Hella, or other Quartz or LED) on a 2015 RX350 F-Sport?
Where/how are they mounted? What brand did you use? Any problems mounting or using the auxiliary lights.
I'm thinking of using one driving light and one pencil-beam hyper-spot.
I have a 2013 RX and the other day experienced the ABS Malfunction lights coming on while driving on the fwy. The error went away when I turned off/on the car. I did take my car in last April to get the recall fix on this error (which was just a software update apparently).
The dealer is saying that they will do the diagnostics, but if they can't find anything, then there's nothing else they can do AND I'm responsible for a $175 diagnostic fee. Perhaps I have unrealistic expectations, but I don't feel that I should have to pay $175 for them to do the diagnostic work since the error did occur.
Does the 2013 RX350 footwell lights not illuminate when driving as they did on previous models? I also do not see a light on the interior door handles.
View 7 RepliesMy 2014 GX has been great except for one annoying problem; with BSM mode enabled, the passenger side BSM indicator randomly lights solid when driving down the road with NO vehicles around me (driver side indicator works perfectly 100% of the time). Does not appear to be correlated to temperature, day/night, humidity, speed, or conditions mentioned in the manual. Other current RX and GX owners I know don't seem to have the issue.
Can the BSM system be calibrated or is the detection program burned into the individual sensors and control module such that the system cannot be re-calibrated? Does a GX BSM system publication exist? I have several photos illustrating the problem. Reported to dealer. The dealers conversation with Lexus was that it is not a perfect system with no explanation as to why one side would have the issue but the other wouldn't. Below is the online reference that Lexus provides. The BSM feature is a very nice one except for this intermittent issue.

My wife's 2006 Honda CR-V has developed a mysterious issue where every minutes, and I mean to the second every 15 minutes, the car behaves as if the ignition switch was turned to the OFF position shutting off the engine. After about 10 seconds, the dashboard light blink as if the key has been turned to the ON and then we can start it. If we try to start it before the dash lights blink, the starter turns but nothing else happens. The immoblizer has been inspected and ruled out and, there are no error codes in the computer.
View 6 RepliesJust trying to get a list of possible reasons my car is acting funny. I may have one problem or more than one problem.
-The dashboard lights started going on and off intermittently while driving. I could feel the power steering was off but the engine never shut off. This happened first while I was running the A/C, but eventually started happening when the A/C was off. When the A/C was on, the car made a funny squeal sound then more of a grinding. The A/C stopped blowing cold air.
-The same thing would happen when driving through water/rain (the dashboard lights would come on and it felt like the car died but it didnt).
-The other night, the SRS light came on, cars electrical started shutting off. Car died. Jump started it, it ran for a couple miles, then died again. This happened the whole 12 mile trip home.
-Mechanic came over, said it was my battery. Replaced battery. Car died again 3 days later. I noticed the lights on the dashboard came on more while making a turn, but they came on while driving too, so idk if that is a good assumption.
I have a toyota prius 2005 mileage114000km,yesterday different lights starts to appear on dashboard. Engine check light, a triangular exclamation red sign, A car symbol with ! this sign in colored red and lastly (0 like handbrake symbol but this one colored in yellow. I noticed also the engine delays to switch on electric mode as before. It runs mostly on petrol. I tried to click on the car symbol sign which has lit up but it writes all in japanese language.
View 6 RepliesI have a 06 sonata v6 with 120k. Today while driving the car started to lose power then the lights on the dash board flickered radio went nuts and the car lost all power. What could be causing this? Moved battery a little bit and got power back but then started driving and it did the same thing. I did have the heater on 2. You can feel it lose power while accelerating.
View 6 RepliesThis morning I had to jump my LS 460, the battery was dead because a light was left on. When I jumped and All of the lights on the dashboard came on. Once the car started they stayed on. I put it in park and tried restarting it but to no avail.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2008 600hl. It showed Hybrid system failure and I took it to the dealer last week. They said that the hybrid system charges well but the issue seems to be 12V battery. I got the car back and drove for 1 day, it stopped again at a major red light. This was a dead stop on Friday 5 pm peak hour traffic. My little daughter was sitting behind and so many cars came close to hitting us which made me mad at Lexus. Luckily I called cops and then they gave protection till it was towed.
All dashboard lights got on and it would show the following:
- Check Hybrid System
- Check Brake System
- Check VSC
Check Hybrid System is mainly a cell or module failure. If they at the dealership were able to charge the Hybrid System, does it mean it was working? Their health check showed 75%
- Since the car stopped abruptly at a stop light, if we were hit from behind, does Lexus/dealership have any liability? My major issue was that my daughter sitting behind does not get hurt.
I just got this used sc430 I always wanted one but never got the chance to though, the car I got is American spec and I Hove few problems with it.
1- fog lights are always on
2- my mileage gage does not work but the rim is working effectively
3- ABS light always on
4- brake lights always on
5- Air bag lights always on
6- side rear viewing mirrors control not working
7- windows auto option is not working, other wise I can use them normal.
Note I took the car to garage and once connected to the computer, the computer was not able to connect as per as the mechanic if it makes any sense.
I love my car unfortunately I don't know much.
I just drove my 2 year old prius during the snowstorm for the first time. While parked, I turned the car on, headlights on, and tried to move the car. The gas engine already shut down during warm-up. Car was stuck in snow. I had to move back and forth on electrical only a few times before getting out.
Here is the question. After a second or third try in reverse, dashboard lights suddenly went totally dark, and would not turn on until headlights were off. I could not drive like that at night, so I stopped and googled it on my cell. Turns out the dimmer was all the way off.
But how???? I did not touch it. The car started just fine, everything working. Only after a few attempts to get of of the snow the dash went out? Is there something wrong with the electrical circuit? I did try to move the car very gently, without flooring the pedal.
I have a 2010 Chevy Malibu with @23,000 miles. The dashboard lights will periodically click off. At this point the numbers on the speedometer, gas gauge, etc., are not visible.

Drove it last night and drive it regularly, daily. I came out to the driver side door being not fully closed. What's going on?
Since I purchased my 2010 Prius new, it often won't start. As instructed, I press the brake, push the power button for a few seconds, and hope that the ready light will come on. Typically, the dashboard lights up but the ready light doesn't come on. It can take ten minutes or more to get the car started. This happens when the car is cold, or has been sitting for a while, or randomly at other times. The Toyota service department will only address the problem if they can replicate it. I've left it at the service department for a couple of days until they experienced the problem. They reset a computer component which worked for three months. Now the issue is happening again and I'm back to trying to convince Toyota that it's a problem.
