Bought 2013 rx 350 and the button on the dashboard to open the rear hatch trunk just beeps twice and wont open. i have to use the remote to open and close and the button on the trunk works to close it.
View 10 RepliesSo today I walk out Walmart getting ready to put some groceries in my trunk and it won't open. It beeps... But will not open. I've tried the button on both the remote and inside the car. Hell I even took a long stick and went through the middle of the back seat and pulled the trunk release inside the trunk lid.. And it still won't open.... No I did not touch the trunk cancel button in the glove. All it does is beeps. It won't open.

View 4 RepliesDisconnected battery and all the switches in the dash, including on/off in glove box. So that's what caused the problem. Now to fix it. I re-connected battery and all switches, bit hatch won't open with key switch or any switches in car (at door or in front dash). I did manual open and close without any result., the button in glove box is pushed in.

View 3 RepliesMy wife's 2010 RX350 wouldn't start this morning. My guess is that the battery drained overnight with the back door ajar. After getting it started with a battery jump the rear hatch would not open by hand, the dash button or the key button. After driving and charging the battery the hatch would open. I'd this to be expected or an indication that perhaps the hatch has a fault?
View 1 RepliesI just noticed that even when switching the dome light off, the trunk light never shuts off with the hatch open.
I assume there is no way to turn it off other than taking out the bulb?
My battery died. The jumper cables are under the floor of the trunk. Obviously the trunk control button under dash or on key won't operate. The manual buttons that lift the floor are hidden under the trunk door.
View 9 RepliesPower hatch stop working? I get a long beep and nothing. Won't open or close, it has to be done manually. My next oil change is in 1-2 months so I was going to have it looked at then by Lexus under warranty. Nothing seems stuck in the latch.
View 8 RepliesMy ES350 trunk and fuel door will not open. The problem started out with me addressing the "Check SONAR" issue where all of my rear SONAR sensors weren't working. This issue with the SONAR working intermittently has been an issue now for about 8 months. Anyway so I had read somewhere to check under the front right passenger footwell and I did. With the car in ON mode (engine not running) I tried to disconnect each of the harnesses from the plugs one at a time so that I could isolate the harness that controlled the sonar.
Anyway I plugged everything back in and now the trunk won't release either from the Keyfob, or from the interior. The fuel door also won't release either and I've already tried the Valet button to no effect. I'm wondering if the computer that handles the trunk or whatnot got deactivated from the other computers and is no longer talking to it or something to that effect. I'm hoping I just blew a fuse but otherwise I just don't know how to proceed from here. It sucks this car has no way to open the trunk with a key, I think that was a huge oversight. I also cannot open the trunk by opening the pass through because the internal trunk release cable was broken by my dad several years ago and was never repaired.
I just bought an used 2010 RX350. It has a button on the key that automatically opens the trunk, a button on the left of the drivers side that automatically opens the trunk and the button on the trunk that automatically closes it (so you don't manually close it). But after I bought it, I noticed that when I push the button on the underside of the trunk it does NOT automatically open.
View 4 RepliesI washed and wax my wife's 2011 RX yesterday and I spotted rust around the edge of the taillight. It looks like part of the blister already break open and the other part just start forming. The car is Canadian build in Matador red mica color. Never been in any accident and never had any paintwork. I will take it in to Lexus dealer today for my SA to take an initial look. Hatch door rust issue on 3rd gen RX ??? I'm in shock that 4 years old car started to develop rust.
View 14 RepliesPerhaps a silly question but I noticed on my new 2015 RX 350 the brake lights that are in the rear hatch don't come on when the brake is applied, only the brake lights in the body of the car on each of the outer corners. I was following another new 2015 the other day and noticed it was the same. When looking at the the part of the taillight assembly that's in the rear hatch, it appears there are LEDs in there. why they don't light up?

View 5 RepliesI just picked up 2007 LS460. I used the remote to open the trunk, but can't use it to close the trunk. Can only close by pressing the button on the trunk to close. When i press close on the remote, it beeps, but does not do anything.
View 7 RepliesI checked my rx350 battery health and it is good. Still I am having recurrent issues when battery dies. And needs a restart. It happened many times and last one just happened this morning and I have feeling that this is related to rear hatch door...let me explain what happened:
Yesterday evening I went for grocery shopping and opened the rear hatch door using my car key remote, kept the groceries and closed the rear hatch using the button on the bottom of rear hatch door. I drove back to home and parked the vehicle in the garage. This morning I opened the rear hatch again and closed it, drove it to a house one block away, returned home and parked the car.
When I tried to start 1 hour later, the battery had already died. So, I have a feeling that opening and closing the rear hatch door 3 times caused this battery drain.
Can I disable unlocking of all the doors when I open the rear hatch from the outside? I figured out that if I use my fob, the doors does not unlock.
View 4 RepliesThis is a simple post: Rear hatch won't open from outside; latch seems to be toasted. It can be released from inside, and will open then, as you imagine this is very inconvenient.
View 6 RepliesActually its inconsistent. Many times with the car running and in park, I jump out to access the rear hatch. Sometimes it will open and sometimes it will not. When it doesn't open, I have to turn off the car and then the hatch opens.
