How do you remove and reinstall just the lens in the rear light assembly in 2002 SC430 ? I can see that it probably just snaps out using a screwdriver as a pry tool but want to be sure !
View 5 Replies2005 RX330 ... The passanger-side rear marker light (bottom corner of bumper) is broken . I would like to replace it myself, but can't figure out how to remove it. By looking from underneath the car, it appears the assembly is bolted on, but the nut is in an impossible to reach place, even using socket extensions and a universal joint. Other than removing the rear bumper cover, how to remove the entire rear marker light assembly?

I can pry the clear lens off pretty easy but I want to remove the whole assembly from the headliner so I can put some sound deadner behind it because ever since I upgraded my sound system it rattles like crazy and is driving me nuts. I know guys have dropped the whole headliner to dynamat or sound proof it so someone's gotta know.

I tried pulling from the rear but it won't budge and created a crease in my headliner.
Is there a certain way to pull it down? I don't want to damage the headliner anymore since it's not even a week old yet.
Last night I broke the tail light at the grocery store... I came out and there was a line of carts behind my car that a parking lot attendant was collecting. I added my cart to the end and went to shove them all out of the way, and he yells to me, "I got it! I got it!" so I leave them, get into my car, see him go past with a bunch of carts & back up. What this will run? Can I just replace the lens or do I have to replace the whole assembly? And is this something I can easily enough swap out myself?

View 14 RepliesIn my 2002 SC430: The interior rear view mirror has an indicator which does not light up when I press the auto button. It does not auto dim at night either. My headlights auto on/off so that daylight sensor works. Ive checked the mirror fuse but not sure if there's anything else causing this. Do these mirrors go bad, or has mine been broken ? What items do I check and or test to diagnose and repair the mirror?

View 3 RepliesEvery so often my rear cargo door handle is impossible to open. I can hear the lock mechanism lock/unlock but the handle won't compress to open the door. I had a mechanic get in it the other day by removing the inside panel. He states I need a new cable assembly. I have ordered one using our discount from Sewell. I have since come across a TSB about the actuator being an issue. I'm assuming my mechanic would know the difference. He said the cable is stretched and it makes the handle travel too far to engage. I'll try the cable at $35 delivered before the whole mechanism for $250 delivered.
