Avalon 2005-12 :: CEL Error Code P0440 Error Code / Charcoal Canister Replacement

So of course it has to happen 3 weeks after my warranty expires. My CEL comes on and I have it read and the result is P0440. I find out that my wife has a habit of topping off the gas tank and so I am thinking that she has probably ruined the charcoal canister. It is something easy to replace?

I have an 06 limited edition... Yes, she will not be topping off any gas tank anymore.

Accent LC (2000-05) :: 2001 - Code P0121 TPS Error

2001 1.5L 5-speed Accent

I did a search on this problem and found several people posted the same P0121 code. Strangely many people wrote that replacing TPS did NOT fix it. The code came back in 30 miles or so. Most of them didn't follow up what finally fixed it and only 2 people did by saying they got the code cleared by fixing/replacing:

1. Leak in the intake manifold, bad plug wires, etc.
2. New Head & ECM.

Is there any known fix for the P0121 on Accent 1.5L other than above?

Grand AM :: 2000 2.4L SE - Random Misfire Error Code And Catalytic Converter Gets Hot

That Car Grand AM 2000 2.4L SE

The current problem with the car is that it is not accelerating fast, for example i would push the petal to the metal and only go 25 mph and my RPM would be 3000-4000. Initial my brother and cousin though it was the Catalytic converter because it was getting hot but that has recently been change along with the fuel filter and spark plugs. but the catalytic converter is still gets red hot so i forbid myself from driving it till i fix what every causing the slow acceleration and the temperature of the Cata when i took the error code think P0300 random misfire to the local Autozone they printed me a long list of things that could be a issue my question is what is the likely culprit so i can fix those 1st before shelling out cash to rebuild a engine. may just have to get rid of it at that point. so i guess what am asking is a list maybe top 10 so i can fix them one by one as my money comes in.

Before the accelerating issue the car would randomly stop when i slowed down or stooped that when i replace the spark plugs.

Passat (B5) :: Getting Error Code 0012?

It happened to passat. Once I hit about 75mph on highway I get a stop engine (oil presser low light). It flashes than goes off once I lower my speed. I checked all fluids are normal. It throws a 12 code an says oil passage blocked, cam positioning sensor, skipped timing chain. These are what the code says could be wrong with it. The car runs fine with no hesitation at idle or normal city driving. I have already flushed the oil with cleaner, and still getting the light.

Accent LC (2000-05) :: Error Code P0442 Indicating A Leak In Evap Emissions

This began as a troubleshooting exercise for a P0442 code (2002 model) indicating a leak in the evap emissions system. Often caused by simple things like a loose/poorly sealing filler cap. Not this time

It's a neat design, tucked away up in the fender well. Even sports a very effective stone guard (plastic shield) which hides all that tubing from view. But the shield also traps all the road salt and mud and packs it into the crevices between the tubes where it stays from one winter till the next. Even a powerful car wash probably can't dislodge the caked on mess once solidified.

Accent LC (2000-05) :: P0734 Error Code - Hard To Shift Into Higher Gears

I inherited this car from my grandmother when she passed. It has low miles, around 40k. Since I paid zero for it, I would like to keep it. Historically I have done all my repairs, but never trans work.

Here are the symptoms. The car has issues shifting into higher gears. I have to punch the gas and then it will switch gears. It then began to do this for reverse, and now now reverse does not work at all.

At first I thought it was a speed sensor problem, but when I took it in to be read, it came up with P0734. It could be electrical (Speed sensor?), low fluid (it's not low), or 4th gear.

Is this transmission worth me fixing or paying to have it repaired, or should I move on?

P.S. If I drop the pan and find shavings, I understand that to point to 4th gear and bearing (also what the computer code read as the issue). Do shavings mean it definitely is 4th/bearing, or could it be another blown part?

Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: 2000 - Got Error Code P1464?

Well I thought my truck was 100%, and I was going to installed a Chip. I decided to get my Forscan up and running to check and make sure.

The Buzz test Passed with no problems.

The cylinder contribution did not pass. I got error code P1464, which Forscan said that #8 failed. FYI, I turned the A/C on and the test failed. I ran it again with the A/C off and it failed again. I might have the wrong code

I then went to where you could select the gauges to view(PID's). And I saw where you could select all the cylinders injectors individually. I forgot what it was called, but all injectors were reading close to 0.0% at idle except for #8 it was reading 5.55% to 5.88%.

I am hoping this is good news, since I rather the injector be bad then a piston ring or valve. I just got the Forscan and was wondering what other test or other things I could check to narrow the problem down before removing the Valve covers. The truck runs great and there is no miss and it turns over smooth. No blowbye, just runs great. It is a 2000 F-350 dually with just over 202,000 miles

Passat (B6) :: Error Code P0016 After Oil Change

P0016 - Crankshaft Position | Camshaft Position Correlation
Bank 1 Sensor A
2006 Passat - 3.6L V6

Here is my issue: I was lazy and waited a bit too long to get my oil changed. I finally did 3 days ago. I have been very busy so I decided to take it to a local mechanic to let them take care of it. They flushed the oil, ran other oil through it with a new oil filter, flushed that, then put in new synthetic oil with another new oil filter. They also replaced the air filter.

Everything was fine for 2 days.

Then, while I was driving in stop and go traffic, the "EPC" and "Engine Malfunction" lights came on. There was also a loss of power and the car seems to wait too long to shift gears.

So, I took it back to the mechanic who had it a few days prior. He pulled the code from it (posted at the top), and cleared the code from the car. That mechanic told me that I need a "cam position indicator sensor". He also claimed that what he did had nothing to do with this issue. I decided to check with the dealer. He cleared the code and I left. After clearing the code, the car drove fine for most of that day, then it returned.

I spoke with the VW dealership's shop manager and he said that he does not believe that is the issue at all and asked me to bring it in. He also mentioned a clogged oil line as being the potential culprit.

Accent LC (2000-05) :: 2001 GSI - Check Engine Light / Mysterious P0300 Error Code

Mystery issue with my 2001 Accent GSI (5-speed manual, 1.6 L). I'm getting a P0300 error code and the Check Engine light (the light is like an old friend, I miss it when it's not on). This happened four months ago and I replaced the ignition coil - seemed to fix things - but now the light and the error is back with a vengeance. Car stumbles and runs rough. Changed the plugs and plug wires, but no difference.

BTW, there's a small pin hole in the upper part of the gas tank (just enough to give it a gassy smell when the tank is full) but I don't think the hole would be big enough at this stage to cause the check engine light to come on in the same way it does if you leave the gas cap off or loose.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: 2000 - Limp Mode / Stuck In 1st Gear And Error Code Of P0730

I have 1 month left on my AAMCO rebuilt transmission. I took it in a few weeks ago when it went into "limp mode" (Stuck in 1st gear). Eventually, they got an error code of P0730, which I believe is electrical-related. All was pretty good but then today, driving @ high speed on the interstate, I could not get into 4th gear...

Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: 2000 - Error Code P0472 - Low Boost / 0 PSI EBP?

2000 truck, 334k, automatic 2wd, stock. Have low power, 11psi max.

Permanent p0472 code, can't clear it even temporarily. The moment I turn the key to Acc, code is there. It's the only code showing on Forscan.

Tried 470ohm 1/2watt resistor, in two turbo pedestal sensor connector wires, no change. Forscan shows 0.0-0.6 psi EBP value when running.

No change with pedestal sensor plugged or unplugged. Resistor or not. Truck starts and runs good, low power is the only issue.

Sensor and tube are new. Seems like wiring is bad, where to look next to track this down?

Passat (B5) :: CEL On With Code 1476 - Error Reappears After Clearing

I have VW 1999 V6 Turbo Passat automatic Sedan.

It's Check Engine Light [CEL] is ON for a while. The code comes as 1476. The mechanic tried to erase the error, but CEL comes back after 60-100 miles. Clearing the codes works for awhile but Error reappears.

The code is for "EVAP Leak detection pump Malfunction/Insufficient Vacuum".

The local mechanic is not sure what to do about it and suggests me to visit the Dealer/showroom. After last time visit to the VW Dealer/ Mechanic, I am sacred to go again, due to exorbitant cost of the last repair. I don't think it was justified.

What should I do now? Where to start?

Accent LC (2000-05) :: Check Engine Light Error Code P1128 / Too Lean Intake System

This is the infamous error code many Accent owners might have experienced it. The code refers to "Too lean intake system". People try to replace all kinds of parts like ECM, MAF, O2 Sensor, TPS, Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter, etc. according to my research. I just bought a 2001 Accent and the P2188 light came on. I wrote an email to Hyundai Corp. Asking what would be the most likely part that will cause the (P2188) check engine light to come on.
