So my gf locked her keys in the trunk of her 2002 passat glx 4 motion... any other way to open the trunk? for some reason the trunk switch on drivers door won't pop the trunk. Gas door does pop.
View 11 RepliesOkay, my keys are locked in my trunk. I called roadside assistance and they opened the car, but the trunk won't open with the button on the dash. The seat release levers are, of course, in the trunk, so there isn't a way in the trunk. Is there a way to get into the trunk and bypass the lock systems? It's a 2013 Sonata GLS by the way.
View 25 RepliesMy father took the car to the grocery store and lost the keys. When we got the car from the dealer we only got one set of keys and proceeded to order a second set. Forgot to pick the other set and when I did the key did not worked. They (the dealer) swapped the 2 last digits from the VIN number so they had to reorder the keys. In the meantime how do I open the car. It is a 2003 Passat V6.

A locksmith came and instead of using the tool to unlock using the unlock button, he just pulled the regular lever inside with the tool to open the door while it was locked. Since then I cannot open the driver's side door from the inside. It will open, lock and unlock fine from the outside. It is unlocked when I attempt to open it from the inside. I pull the lever and nothing happens. I have to unroll the window and open the door using the outside handle or crawl over to exit from the passenger side door.
View 4 RepliesHad to leave my Passat in front of Target after spending hours trying to figure out how to get in the trunk from the backseat. I couldn't believe I was dumb enough to place the key in the trunk while putting all the bags in there!
Now we were able to use one of those door airbag tools to fish a wire in and get the driver door open by pulling on the door handle. The door unlock switch did nothing when pressed. Once I got the door open I thought all I had to do was press the trunk release button, but it was not popping the trunk as it always did before.
I went into the backseat to try and pull the seats down, but cannot find anyway to fold down the back seats. My friend said you can only release the latch from inside the trunk, but there has to be a way. I only have the one key and I'm sure it will cost an arm and a leg to get a new one made. How to get those back seats down?
I left my keys in the car last night and then my husband locked the car with his smart key. Is there a way to get my keys out without his key right now?
View 1 RepliesMy son locked my keys in the cab of the truck. To complicate things, I have the Ford upgraded alarm which disables the keypad. And the real kick in the $^%, is that I only have 1 set of keys. I'm definitely going to have a couple of more sets of keys made when I get inside, how to get inside the cab. I live way out in the boonies and really would like to avoid calling a locksmith.
View 14 RepliesI have seen this happen twice on two different push to start Sonata cars at my shop. Customer stated that randomly it would lock the doors with his key inside while parked at home. I have not yet determined the pattern that could cause this issue.

View 3 RepliesI just bought a 2006 elantra limited and neither of my keys will turn the lock on the trunk. I have looked all over for secret switches. My key fob doesn't have a trunk button but the lever beside the drivers seat will open the trunk. I don't think it is a valet feature because there is no lock on the glove box.
View 7 RepliesOK i have a 2001 2002 passat with factor alarm. I though since i have over came my problems with it, id let all those that are going through the pain of not being able to lock there car without the alarm going off a few pointers! OK what i did....
1). Firstly checked all micro switches in doors, by opening them and seeing how the internal lights reacted - eg if the light came on when door is opened, was there a delay?. IF there is a delay ur mirco switch might be on the way out and could be causing problems.
2). Don't forget there is a micro switch on the bonnet and boot lids as well.
3). I also checked the comfort control panel which is under the passengers front floor (there is issues with the drain holes around the batter blocking and letting water into the inside of the car and flooding the comfort control panel (alarm panel). I HAD KINDA this problem and had to unblock these drain holes.
4). If ALL these are ok and working the have a look near the battery and just under the heater pipes there is the alarm system speaker with back up battery! (I flooded this area when washing my car - or in the rain as the water was not draining as it was blocked! hence shorting out my battery and speaker! Causing the alarm to go off ALL the time!)

I got a 2002 passat 1.8t in the shop fixin some bodywork on it. When its in the cold the brake pedal gets rock hard and if you step on it the brake lights come on and stay on, when it stays in the shop its fine.
Read online about an issue with water getting in the brake booster and freezing. found nothing in the search...
For the past couple days my 02 passat drivers side door wont lock with out being manually locked, when my light are on and I get out of my car it does not chime and my lights wont come on when I open the door.
View 6 RepliesMy trunk latch will not catch. It will close and stay closed, but when driving it trips the sensor that it's open. The Car will not alarm unless I push down on the trunk, but if a car drives by it trips the alarm.
I have removed the liner to expose the latch assembly, but can't find anything broken. Have been unable to remove the hard plastic surrounding the latch itself.
I just purchased a 2002 vw passat wagon VR6 yesterday. Driving it home about 2 hours into the drive, the warning on the dash started flashing door open and the display said "rear lid open" and a very annoying sound kept chiming. It did that all the way home. Once I got it home I turned it off and locked it. An hour later the alarm starts going off.. figure it was because of the trunk lid. The lid is completely latched and closed and locked.

View 1 RepliesI have a 2007. So as the title says, my battery is completely dead, and my trunk is locked. I have the master key, but for some reason, it won't unlock the trunk. It will unlock the front door, but not the trunk. The switch on the dash won't release the trunk because the battery is dead, and the seat release is in the locked position, so I can't get in my trunk from inside the cabin either. This is an incredibly inconvenient situation, because I have jumper cables right there inside of my trunk.
