i have an 04 passat 1.8t... I was at the gas station today and the car cut off and would not start back up. I let it sit for awhile and turned it on and noticed a airbag light was on but the car would not come out of park and the display read oil pressure stop?
View 2 RepliesI received an Air bag Fault and Parking Break Fault yesterday when I started the car. Found my (drivers) belt latch sensor wiring was buggered so I fixed that. I don't know if that was the technical name for it, but it was the wiring from the receiving latch to the connector. The parking break fault went away so my guess is that short pissed it off. But who knows, it could be unrelated.
However, the air bag fault will not go away. I thought by fixing that it would vanish, but I guess not.
I have found that the light goes out for a moment and then reappears when the "passenger air bag off" light comes on. The other day, it thought my wife was still in the seat after she got out so I'm guessing the passenger seat wiring is the culprit.
I don't have a VAG-COM so the above detail is all I have. I really don't want to go to the dealer, but do I have a choice?
Came on while i was driving on the highway, i pulled into a rest stop turned my car off gave it a minute. drove it again and it came on after like 10 seconds.pulled off the next exit, turned it on gave it a minute again and i haven't gotten it on since. this was two days ago.
View 8 RepliesI have VW 99 18L automatic Passat. Suddenly, air bag yellow warning light is ON . There has been no accident or crash. Maybe its caz I pulled the seat-belt too roughly, or maybe there is something else to the story. I don't have a scanner. I don't want to go to a dealer/showroom to get the airbags replaced.

View 9 Repliesso today i removed the radio bezel from my 06 and i left the key on like an idiot and now my airbag fault light is on I reconnected the bezel i make sure that the plug was on and still airbag fault light is on.

The Air Bag light went off unexpectedly. I bought the car new, no accidents. I know there is a clock spring recall related to the Air Bag on the car, so I took it in today to get that done and get the Air Bag light inspected.

View 5 RepliesI recently sent for a reset my airbag module, yes my car was in a collision, I replaced passenger airbag(only 1 airbag deployed). And reconnected the module. Using the VAG COM, I scanned the airbag module, shows no fault codes, but i still have a light.. now I'm thinking seatbelts and sensors maybe the problem. View 2 RepliesLast week I got the airbag light up on my dash board. Then, my horn stopped working along with the radio controls. Now they are telling me its not being covered because of my aftermarket modifications. Now my aftermarket modifications are the following done through Vag-Com: DRLs disabled for HIDs, Remote up/down for windows.
So they are telling me they can not communicate with the module. Correct me if I'm wrong here, and I most likely am since I don't know much about this, but aren't they unable to connect to the module because.... it's defective?

It started with the aribag light staying on after startup (MFD message "airbag fault") and then today (2days later) the steering wheels buttons don't light up or work.
Over the past 2 days I drove without the center of the steering wheel in place because I was in the middle of removing the turn signal arm - I had to wait until I found a T55 torque bit for removing the steering nut. Anyway, the I installed a new turn-signal arm and re-assembled the steering wheel and such. Even after reconnecting the airbag I'm still getting an airbag light on my instrument cluster. Is this a fault code that needs to be reset from the dealer? I know I plugged all the connectors correctly - only one way to do it.

I drive a 2001 VW 1.8T and she only has 48,000 miles on her.
