I have VW 99 18L automatic Passat. Suddenly, air bag yellow warning light is ON . There has been no accident or crash. Maybe its caz I pulled the seat-belt too roughly, or maybe there is something else to the story. I don't have a scanner. I don't want to go to a dealer/showroom to get the airbags replaced.

View 1 RepliesI have a 2007 Passat Wlfsburg Edition with 4,300 miles on it. In the message center it stated "Tire Pressure Too Low!" There is also a tire yellow warning light lit. I checked the tire pressure. They were all at 30 psi. I inflated them to 33 psi as stated on the door jamb. The light and message are still there. I checked the owners manual and it doesn't say how to reset it or anything. What should I do?
View 24 RepliesMy case involves a 2005 Prius with 55k miles on it with the problem of the master warning light (triangle with !), yellow brake light ( (!) ), airbag, and VSC lights coming on whilst driving. The car drives just perfectly fine without any discernible problems. Scan tool did not detect any codes. Tested the 12v auxiliary battery and it is strong with both voltage and amperage (even went as far as temporarily jury-rigging a fresh v12 battery in parallel with it to see if it would alleviate the problem). Inverter coolant pump runs well, coolant changed with appropriate Toyota Super Long Life coolant (50/50 mix) and system bled. Despite some drivers' concerns over disconnecting the 12v battery to reset the lights, this was done and the lights would go out, only to have them come on again after about 5-10 minutes of driving. Asides from the lights coming up, the car itself seems to be asymptomatic. Hybrid system appears to be running smooth and fine, SOC is good, asides from the lights the car drives very well.

View 7 RepliesI've got some issues with my 2005 Toyata Prius (~150,000 miles). My wife was driving recently and the "Master Warning Light", the "Hybrid System Warning Light" and the yellow "Brake System Warning Light" all came on.
Some quick reading of the owners manual said we should take it to a dealer right away, but because it was a yellow, and not red, brake system warning light it seems ok to drive at least to a dealer. in regard to the yellow brake system light the manual said it could be that: "the regenerative brake system failed or that the hydraulic brake system failed".
Now, I have a cheap bluetooth OBD reader hooked up to the "torque" app on my phone and I thought I would try to see what error codes there were to learn more. But strangely, it did not read any fault codes. I've used this reader successfully on my 2001 Mitsubishi galant, but I'm not reading anything for the prius in this case. I'm not sure if there is legitimately no error code associate with the warning lights or if my app is just failing to read them for some reason.
Last night, my 2008 Prius was hit from the rear. The bumper was damaged as well as a few starches on the hatch. However the latch for the hatch was move forward so the hatch no longer latches. Also during the collision, my daughter's heavy backpack was throw against the back of the passenger seat with enough force to hurt her back.
The airbag warning light remains on along with the dash indicator saying the airbag is off. Does mean all the airbags are disabled? Can this be reset? The car will be professionally repaired but I still need to drive it until I can get it repaired.
A yellow key symbol appeared atop the speedometer. I searched the manual and found no reference to this. I assume this to mean the battery may be low in my key fob. Am I correct or does this mean something else?
View 12 RepliesMy yellow (circle with line on each side) warning light for brakes is on in my 2005 VW Touareg. Only 9 months ago I replaced the front pads, rotors and sensors. When I put the car in drive and start to move the warning light flashes 'check front brake pads'. Is it possible it's something simple like a sensor? Is there a way for me to check that? Side note: I replaced the rear brake pads and rotors only 5,000 miles before that. I just want to see if it could be something simple before I take it in to be checked out and told it's something more sinister. I checked the level of brake fluid and it is full.

This is the yellow brake system warning light, not the red brake warning light or the generally similar looking yellow low tire pressure warning light. No other warning lights are on in the service indicator panel. What troubleshooting can I do myself before taking it to service facility?

There was no script, no symptoms, and when I restarted, has gone away ever since. I looked in the manual but could find no information on this symbol.

Can it still have 2 gal. past the E marker ?
2006 Prius with 164,000 miles.
First in the morning, starts fine, 500 feet later I'm turning out of neighborhood and I get lit up with:
Red triangle master light
Yellow brake warning (went away after I did signal check)
Check engine
Maint required light
The maintenance light is on because I'm 5,000 miles out of an oil change. I checked the stick, it did appear low, so I added a half quart of mobil 1 5w-30.
The inverter pump was changed due to recall in 2012, and I do still see turbulences in the fluid.
I have 3 pips of gasoline in the tank.
The 12V is a newly replaced yellowtop from elearnaid. Replaced about 1 year ago.
My wife and I are driving our 2005 Prius with 130k miles and have experienced some weirdness with the car while driving. We've got the master warning light (red triangle w/ !), and another yellow (!) warning light, plus the center display shows a red car with an !. I've gathered that it means something possibly with the brake controller, so when I parked I put the e-brake on.
The car was driving fine with these lights on (we were in the middle of Canadian highways and couldn't stop anywhere) except that cruise control would not work.
Eventually, it actually went into limp mode, where we would floor the pedal and the car would barely accelerate. Pulled over, turned it off for a few minutes, then back on and it drove fine, warning lights still on.
I just replaced the driver's front wheel hub, and I can hear the passenger front going bad, so I'm suspicious that this may be related. Just replaced the 12v within the last few months with an Optima.
This morning I got a yellow warning light flash for a few seconds and then turn solid after driving on the highway for a few minutes. It looks this: (_!_). It is located on the right of the dash display. I just changed my oil and put on winter tires myself two days ago. I hope it isn't related to my maintenance.

I have a 90 mi. commute round trip, I will check again if this turns on and stays on. For now, it is off. what could be causing this?
View 1 RepliesAfter install. of a non original cruise control unit, the yellow eng. warning light is on all the time, my trip/fuel computer does not work, and the engine cuts out when driving, just for a sec, then it runs again. An OBD test says "speed sensor fault". My mechanic have not been able to find the problem.
