All interior lights (window switches, gauges, etc.) are all out. Headlights work, map lights work. He told me the dimmer switch is very warm all the time, but everything attached is out. Would it be a faulty dimmer switch? I had him check all the fuses, relays, but they're all good. I was wondering if he would need a new dimmer switch all together.

View 6 RepliesOK. I just had a major repair on my 2001.5 Passat where they had to remove the dashboard. Now some of the little lights are out. You know the ones that are around the vents. The light on the vent on the far left that blows on the drivers left hand side. And the lights on the 2 middle vents are out. Will they now have to remove the whole dashboard to repair these lgihts? Also the light on the radio display appears a little dimmer now.
View 2 RepliesI have aftermarket headlights and when they were put in and to today the passenger side lights are dimmer than the drivers side light. the mechanic supposedly changed the outlet and socket and said it was just something to deal with.

View 1 RepliesI have been having an issue with my interior lights, namely all the dash lights (cluster, climate, stereo, etc)
I have to keep switching the euro switch back and forth until it finally switches on the interior lights. The headlights still work but not the fogs, unless the interior lights go on.
What this could be? Perhaps an electric problem? Faulty euro switch?
I have a 2000 E150 (Glavel Conversion) van and the interior lights do not illuminate when the doors are opened, although they used to. They also no longer turn on from the headlight dimmer switch. They will turn on individually if the manual switch at each light is pressed while the engine is running, so the bulbs and wiring appear to be working. I replaced the headlight switch with no noticeable effect. Is there a timing circuit that switches these on for a short period of time to allow illuminated entry that could have failed? If so, where would I find the module and how would I test? Relays and fuses look good.
View 1 RepliesI recently purchased a 2011 Ford Edge with the My-Touch control system. I am planning on taking it to music festivals where I "camp" in and around my vehicle. Some of the lights go on every time a door or hatch is opened. As I am in and out of the vehicle day and night, is there a way to disable this feature?. I ask mostly because of lights bothering me and others, but am a little concerned about battery drain. It could be up to a week without starting or driving. I do turn the headlights off, but others (inside and out) come on.

My car has all original wiring and I suspect a short at one of the terminal blocks. I am unsure how to troubleshoot this problem. I cannot select my model number below I have a model 76 Dynamic Cruiser.
View 19 RepliesI have an 05 4-cyl LE. The dash/cluster dimmer switch isn't working, but all the lights are on and at full blast. I removed the fuse panel cover and coin try. There was a set of wires and a plug just free floating back there (3 wires and a black clip). I could not see anything plugged into the dimmer so I figure that's there the plug goes? I can't get my chubby fingers up back there to plug it in and would like to remove the trim panel to gain access. I can't find anything out there on how to remove that panel.

so I just got a 2014 Passat S (with NAV) and I'm having some Bluetooth auto connection issues - only when I start my car to let it warm up for a few mins while I run back inside (I live in New England and leave the house at 5am when it's 5-10 degrees out). My fiance's Santa fe keeps an option on the screen that reads "could not connect to phone, re-try? Yes or No" and you can click yes and she's instantly connected. When I start my car to warm up for a few mins I've tried manually doing it when I get in the car under "paired devices" but it fails every time. I want to get a remote starter but I don't want to turn the car off then on again every time so my phone will connect. I have to turn the car off then turn it on and it will instantly connect. When I'm just getting in and going it's no problem.
View 5 RepliesI have an 02 Passat with a passenger side window motor problem. The window works fine from the drivers side and will go up using the pass. side switch, but it will not go down. It makes a clicking noise each time I press the switch and the window sort of acts like it wants to move down. I took the door panel off and checked the switch and the wires going to the motor and every thing looked ok. I checked the switch with a multimeter and it appears to be ok. What else I can check?

View 3 RepliesNo interior lights work, so I checked the fuse # 14 according to the manual. Fuse is good, and the hot side of the fuse socket has 12+ volts. I pulled down the main interior light switch that's housed with the sunroof switch, and there's no voltage there at all.

View 7 RepliesI went to a stereo shop to have all my doors covered with DynaMat. They did a great job there but now I have an airbag error. How do I reset this? I do have a VCDS cable. I know it was because the battery was not unplugged before the door trim was removed so I'm not that worried, just wondering if VCDS can take care of it or I MUST go to the dealer.
My other issue are the interior lights. I had them all replaced with LED bulbs and when I left the shop I turned the map lights on and all was good. I left the shop to put some fuel in and when I started the car again I had no lights. Now NONE of my interior lights go on. What Happened? I've seen plenty of people with LED bulbs in their cars so I didn't think anything could go wrong? Do I just go back to the stock bulbs?
I have a 2006 passat and today when i was switching the bulbs out with different colored ones and the lights just went out along with the visor lights. I have checked all the fuses and bulbs to make sure they just didnt blow. There isnt much on the internet about this topic. What i have found out on the net is it could maybe be the (CCM). But i am unable to find that also.

Now, when i drive with the lights on there is a buzz, the same buzz when your door is open when you drive. I looked at the fuse diagram on that little card but I could not Id which fuse to pull to stop that wretched noise.
View 3 RepliesThe last month or so, I have noticed that my dash board lights (red lights) and my actual interior lights that come on when you open the doors to vehicle will flicker sometimes...And it can get bad I guess and annoying. It's more of it pulsating really. I noticed today while driving home and I had the radio on loud it was doing it and I do not know if was just in my head that it was doing it more when the radio was loud or what, but this is ridiculous.
