I recently had battery go dead from just setting, not being used. Battery now charged and working fine, however as a result, when I push the Keyfob the drivers side door opens. When I push the second time to open remaining doors, I hear a click, but the doors do not open.
View 5 RepliesI can open all the doors if I press the unlock button on the driver's side. However, suddenly, the remote (both remotes) will unlock only the driver's door & the trunk, but not the passenger & rear doors.
Locking the door manually with the key did nothing. We just replaced the car's battery (it's been 5 years), but that didn't solve the problem with the keyless entry remote. One of the remotes is rarely used (1x/week), so I'd be astonished if both keyless entry remotes needed batteries at the same second.
I came out to get into my car today and pressed the keyfob to unlock and nothing. Went inside, same deal with my backup and valet key. I tried to scan with vag com with the alarm going off and I could link up, but not to the immobilizer or lock system. I did get both key 1 and key 2 adaptation surpassed codes. Even when I manually unlock the drivers door the alarm does not go off and I cannot roll up my windows with the key or unlock any other doors with the key. Things have been strange lately too, every time I lock the car and set the alarm the doors themselves locks don't sink down but the alarm is activated allowing anyone to get into the car but alarm goes off.
View 1 RepliesI've been dealing with a frustrating issue for a while now. Whenever I use my key fob the alarm sets but my front and back driver side doors won't lock. After playing around I've noticed that the driver's side door locks when actually inserting the key and turning. Also, all of the doors lock when I am sitting in the driver's seat and push the lock button on the door panel but the back driver's side door won't unlock unless I crank the vehicle and hit the unlock button. I don't think the key fob has a low battery because I've used both key fobs and it locks one side but not the other. It's all very weird to me. The situation is frustrating for two reasons:
1) Doors are not actually locking so thieves have access to whatever they can grab and run away;
2) I occasionally forget to hit the unlock button and cause my alarm to go off and annoy neighbors, coworkers, etc.
What could be causing this? I'd like a quick fix but I'm afraid I'm going to have to open up the door panels and play around all weekend.
I have a 2002 civic. The key fob only opens or locks the passenger side doors but not the driver side doors. Worse still, the key does not work in the lock so I have to use the fob to open the passenger side and climb in to open my drivers door. Having said that the key won't open the door lock, it will do only occasionally. I might try it 20 times with no luck and on the next attempt it opens it as if there was never a problem in the first place... My priority is to get the fob to operate all of the doors. I have tried the simple things like changing the battery of the fob and resetting the key.

My first thought was the wires at the door but it's been too cold to dig into it today. Will look when it warms up a bit. I need to pull out the manuals but don't think the PW should go through the GEM?
Getting a squeak when they open the trunk of their camry? it is really annoying. I have sprayed on a lot of armor all and the dealer said they could not replicate, which I find difficult to believe. When you release the trunk from the inside, you walk back and you hear the squeaking on the driver side as you walk back.
View 1 RepliesI opened the door yesterday, got out of the car, then when I got back in the door wouldn't close. I did end up getting it closed but it took a lot of force and there was major resistance. When I got out, there was no resistance top open about a foot opening, just enough to squeeze out. Any more than that and I would have needed a lot of force to get it open.

Whenever I walk up to the car, it opens by itself.I dont even have to put my hand on the door handle, I just get close to the drivers door and it opens, of course with the smart key in my pocket. Its only the drivers door as well. I find this a little weird plus its hard to lock the door with the black square because if I don't run out of range...it unlocks.

Is there a way to open all the doors without having to take the keys out of my pocket and hit the unlock button? I want to be able to open all doors by just touching the handle.

1 week ago $2 tire pressure gauge fell through the slots on the left side of the trunk inside, I have tried to reach it, but to no avail(touched wires, which goes to the rear/stops driver's side several times).
Today I noticed one of my side markers was not working, I turned on lights, tried to change bulb in it and as of now neither marker nor left front light(that small upper bulb in bigger bulb slot) nor rear lights work.
Low and high beam are ok on both sides.
I have a 2013 ES350 with 56k miles. Key fob opens and locks all doors except the driver door. I called the Lexus dealer in town and they said its probably the door lock acuator that needs to be replaced. It's out of warranty since it's over 50k miles. Is it possible to replace this yourself or is there some kind of recall for this. The car is only two years old and it seems ridiculous that something like this would already go out on a Lexus.

View 12 RepliesI dropped off my 2012 Passat to the dealer this morning because the driver's DRL was out and the passenger headlight was out. Normally I'd change bulbs myself and be on my way but since this is new and under warranty, I let them do the work.
Anyway, fixed the DRL (bad bulb). But the passenger headlight assembly needs replacing. Seems I have fallen victim to a melted housing causing a failure. I've read about the situation somewhere here on the forums and suspected it might be the case. So VW is 2-3 days out on getting a new part and I'm in a loaner for the time being.
I'm guessing this happens a lot with this part. I wonder if VW will issue a recall in the future.
After getting my car washed on Friday I noticed that the key fob no longer opens the passenger door. It used to be that pressing the unlock button twice would open both doors. Is it possible that some combination of buttons or something caused this to stop working? The button in the door unlocks the passenger door just fine.
View 17 RepliesMy trunk opens by itself. Sometimes when I hit the door open key on the remote (I've tried the spare and it's the same). Sometimes seconds after opening doors. I've gone out to find my trunk wide open in the morning...twice in the past week! The latch works just fine. Seems to be a problem with electronics.
