Recently I noticed that my passenger and drivers side tail lights do not get brighter when I hit the brake. However, the center LED lights still are functioning properly. What might be wrong and how to fix it? I thought it might be the break light switch based on what I have read, but I would imagine that the center LED lights would be messed up too if that was the problem.

View 5 RepliesI'm driving a 2010 Hyundai Sonata and just recently one of my brake lights has been acting up. Everything works perfectly fine as long as the head lights are off; however with the head lights on, when I depress the brake pedal my driver's side tail/brake light goes out. The center brake light and passenger side brake light work just fine regardless of the head lights being on or off. With the headlights off, all the brake lights operate normally when the pedal is depressed.
View 6 RepliesWhen hitting the brakes, the 3rd tail light turns off and on in the middle portion of the reflector. The panel is removed from the inside of the car, as the truck has metal surrounding the top area.
How do you remove the 3rd tail light to check for loose connections or to replace the bulb? 2011 ES350...
Last night while driving in the ice and snow storm we had in the north east my passenger side wiper started acting funny was hitting the driver side wiper and not going full cycle. I think there is something wrong with the linkage,the driver side works fine bringing it in for service Monday.

i have an 89 ford ranger custom and my driver side tail light works just fine but my passenger doesnt work when i mash the brake the passenger side brake light wont come on. the parking lights work, turn signals, and hazards work but the brake light. ive checked the wires and replaced the socket and still the same problem so either theres something in the wires that im missing or i dont know what else. any hints?
View 7 RepliesThe brake light on the driver side doesn't work. The center window brake light works as does the passenger's side brake light. My first thought was the bulb, but when I just have my tail lights on it works just fine. From what I can tell it's obviously the same blub so I don't know where to go from here. The fuse that controls the brake light also controls all of the brake lights so I don't think that would be it since only one side is out. Trying to avoid going to the dealership if I can.
View 7 RepliesMy driver side headlight and tail lights are not working. The brake lights and turn signals still work. I checked all of the fuses and light bulbs nothing is blown. It did rain yesterday and it looks like some moisture got into the driver side headlight, not like a pool of water just some condensation on the lens.
View 7 RepliesI changed the Passenger side with no problem , the driver side bolt is hitting the transmission oil pan. I am thinking of loosening the mounts and try to jack the pan up to get that 1 clearance or worst case drain the transmission take the pan off remove the bolt and put in fluid in. If I drop the the transmission pan is there a filter in there? also how much transmission fluid does it hold.

I noticed on the drive in today that with my headlights on -- every six seconds the drivers side headlight would flicker / flash brighter (not go dark) for a split moment -- very consistent time would elapse between each flicker. I identified it was the drivers side when I was at a stoplight behind another vehicle. (reflection) Upon arriving to the office I noticed the drivers side low beam headlight was blue and the passenger side was regular color. (matching the fog light)
I assume the drivers side is a Xenon and the passenger side was replaced with a non-Xenon bulb? Also, on a drive during lunch I noticed a warning light flicker under my low wiper fluid warning light -- over a half hour period it only flashed twice, yet the second time I noticed it looked like a light bulb. Is this attempting to warn me about my headlights?
I'm new to Volkswagen, never had one before. Just bought my buddies 2003 GTI 20th anniversary #106. My bud install glass projector headlights, which he has the projector as his DRL's and for some reason when you release the E brake, which turns the DRL's, the projector lights on, they flicker and only the driver side stays on leaving the passenger side off. If I pull the E brake back up to turn them off and back down again it flickers on but won't stay on. Sometimes it does switch sides to where the passenger side works and the driver side doesn't but its the passenger side that mostly has the problem. Now I can continue to do this and eventually after 3 or 4 pulls of the E brake i can get them both working. I'm OCD about these little things like this and i want it to work right.

View 12 RepliesMy passanger side blade has been hitting the side of my windshield randomly since the car was new. Wasn't able to replicate the issue at the dealer so I was pulling the blade off last night to investigate and broke the small square retaining clip (Red arrow). Do the clip assembly (Blue arrow) can be purchased separately or if I have to buy a whole new wiper.
View 4 RepliesI dropped off my 2012 Passat to the dealer this morning because the driver's DRL was out and the passenger headlight was out. Normally I'd change bulbs myself and be on my way but since this is new and under warranty, I let them do the work.
Anyway, fixed the DRL (bad bulb). But the passenger headlight assembly needs replacing. Seems I have fallen victim to a melted housing causing a failure. I've read about the situation somewhere here on the forums and suspected it might be the case. So VW is 2-3 days out on getting a new part and I'm in a loaner for the time being.
I'm guessing this happens a lot with this part. I wonder if VW will issue a recall in the future.
1 week ago I changed low beam bulbs(one was out).
1 week ago $2 tire pressure gauge fell through the slots on the left side of the trunk inside, I have tried to reach it, but to no avail(touched wires, which goes to the rear/stops driver's side several times).
Today I noticed one of my side markers was not working, I turned on lights, tried to change bulb in it and as of now neither marker nor left front light(that small upper bulb in bigger bulb slot) nor rear lights work.
Low and high beam are ok on both sides.
So I recently noticed that my mirrors are shaking, like the glass part of the mirror is "falling off the adhesive" that's the best way I can describe it. I know mirror shaking with heavy bass and rough roads but this is like.. shaking in the wind. Is there any kind of adhesive or fix that can work with the heated mirrors?
View 10 RepliesIn April of this year I had a large amount of water in the rear passenger area..Long story short it was the pollen filter..Dealership got it covered with my extended warranty, but yet I had to pay 1200.00 to replace the carpet..They also replaced the Control unit?? Wiring harness and housing...So, now fast forward to 2 days ago. I had a FLOOD in the rear DRIVER seat this time.I called to let them know and they said to bring it in Monday for emergency appt..My plan was to drop it off Sunday evening..during the night of rain we had Saturday I hear a god awful noise at 4 Am..My car is all lit up in orange lights.We had to disc the battery to stop the noise and lights..later that morning we got the wet-vac and hooked up the battery again. It started fine, but then all the lights went crazy and everything got all whacked out.
My trunk no longer closes...so we disc the battery and call AAA to tow to dealer..They just called me now..of course they need it for a day or 2 to determine the problem and see if it is covered! it damn well better be..they got it covered last time. I am beyond irate at this point. No doubt the car is in the same condition as before...main computer is obviously screwed up again..If they think I am paying 1 penny they are sadly mistaken..twice in 2 months?? Something is definitely hinky here..last time before they determined it was the pollen filter, they told me they cleared all drainage area and ruled out all that so they can't tell me that was the problem this time..They can't get clogged in 2 months when for the past 5 years I have NEVER had this issue.
I have a 2001 vw passat v6. The drivers side window works when it wants to, the front passenger and the back drivers side windows wont go down at all and the passenger back window works only when the front drivers window does. The switches are lit up with the windows that don't work..like there is no power going to them. The power locks do the same..with the same problem windows. It has an after market car alarm, so could that be the problem.
