All of a sudden my rear window on the passenger side does not roll down. I can hear the motor running but it won't go down. What could possibly be the problem? Is it something that is very expensive to fix? Could it be a fuse?
View 3 RepliesThe one thing I haven't been able to figure out is how to get the automatic window roll down with the FOB with the Vag commander software. I've done some cool stuff with the cable so far but this is the only thing I cant figure out.
The cable is not compatible with the Rostech software that handles the b6 and no I don't want to buy a rosstech cable.
I have replaced the passenger side motor and regulator for the window (at the dealer) on my B6 Wagon. Now the windows doesn't roll all the way down. You can still see about 1" of glass when is all the way down. I called the dealer and VW of American and they said these are the upgrades parts and that is why does not roll all the way down. They said that there is nothing else they can do
View 2 RepliesI have a 2000 Toyota 4 Runner with 115k miles on it. While in Colorado a month ago, we were driving down a snow covered hill and some guy banged on the window telling us the right rear wheel wasn't spinning. We put it in reverse and it rolled fine that way but still didn't when we headed back in drive. I goosed it a little bit and it went "bam" and drove fine after that.
We were in 4 wheel drive at the time. Last night it happened again. I put the vehicle in drive and it wouldn't budge. I goosed it a little again and it went "bam" and drove several feet until I stopped. It froze up again for a few more minutes. It was NOT in 4 wheel drive this time. Is it time to dump this thing or get a new transmission in preparation for the inevitable?
I have been having problems with my drivers side power window on my 06 Ford F-150. At first, it would roll down, but wouldn't roll back up, so I replaced the switch. After replacing the entire power window control switch, if you push the switch for the drivers window down, it will start to go down, then stop, and you have to press it about 20 times to get it all the way down. You can definitely hear the switch clicking off. All the other windows work perfect. I took it to get the oil changed and asked about it, and they said to change out the regulator, which I did, but the same thing happens. I checked the fuse and that was fine. Is there a relay or something I should check?
View 12 RepliesNo codes, no obvious troubles other than, when I use the power window control on my 99 passat to control the driver side rear window, I have to hold the button down sometimes for 1 second, sometimes for 15 seconds before it actually moves. If I try to operate the window from the actual button on that door( the rear door), it works fine with no hesitation or sticking. No, the safety lock is not on. I am guessing it is something electronic but as there are no burnt fuses or damaged wires, I am left confused.

View 2 RepliesI managed to scrape the passenger door (mostly just the paint) on my 2014 Prius. I got it back from the shop yesterday and just noticed that I can no longer roll down the right rear window using the controls from the driver's seat. I can still lower the left rear window from the driver's seat, but the only way to open the one on the right is to use the switch on that door.
View 5 RepliesMy friends passat's window will only roll up 90%. it leaves a one inch gap open. I have searched but can't seem to find this particular problem. most of the search results were for windows that would not move up or down at all.
Is this a simple adjustment by holding the buttons down and then up method? or is it a mechanical adjustment like the window sliding down in the carrier? or worse yet, does it sound like the failed clips or a regulator?
Having issue with power windows in 2010 Prius. I just noticed today that I can't roll down the rear passenger side window from the driver door switch but all the other windows work, and the rear passenger window works as I can roll down from the door itself.

They say they are ordering a new window guide or something to fix it.
I have a 2006 F-150 5.4L Extended Cab. The windows have to be rolled up by hand and would like to know if there is a way to converted to power window and maybe locks too.
View 1 RepliesAwhile back I did get my battery replaced and I did reset my windows so they could be used from the driver side panel. As of now, I can roll down all of them from the driver side except for the passenger side rear (window diagonal from driver). The window does roll down from the door itself so the window isn't broken. The light on the driver window switch is lit green, not blinking. However, the light on the window switch on the passenger door is NOT lit and not blinking either. And yes, I did make sure the window lock was not on.
Could the switch, either passenger or driver door, be bad? Should the battery be disconnected and reconnected??
I've been searching for a couple days and haven't really found any good info on this... Is ot possible to make our rear windows roll all the way down?
View 1 RepliesAll of a sudden the rear right passenger window doesn't stay closed, it goes all the way up and then it goes down half way. It doesn't matter which switch I use, the driver's side or the passenger side. All the other windows go up as soon as you toggle the switch automatically up and stay up.

Noticed that the back windshield wiper doesn't clean off the back window close enough to the horizontal bar going across the Prius V hatch? I have about 2-3 inches of dew remaining above the back hatch bar, which 'happens' to be the exact height of my eyes (I'm 6').

View 5 RepliesI have a 1999 4DR V6 Passat and today was not my day. I got to work around 8am this morning, and parked. Forgot my window was down, so I turned the ignition on to roll up the driver's side window like normal, and the window does not go up. In fact, no window will go up or down. I have full power, from what I can tell. All lights work, radio works, AC works, etc... Door locks and my alarm doesn't work either.
This also boggled my mind; the car wont start?!? The car won't even crank. It doesn't even want to try to start. This all happened at the same time. What could have happened? The battery has 12.8 volts and the car drove fine on the 1 hour commute. I disconnected the battery and reconnected hoping to reset anything that may have happened. But that didn't work.
Its strange but since the other day the rear right window comes down sporadically when I push the window button on the driver console. When it does come down I am able to get it back up but when it closes all the way thats when it doesn't want to come back down. There is a tree sap problem where I live that gets all over the car. I'm wondering if the sap particles are having an effect on the ability to lower the window. When the window is stuck all the way up I can hear the motor in the door.
View 5 RepliesSo my battery had died and just got a new one. But i noticed that my automatic up/down on the drivers side window doesn't work, I have to keep pressing the button for it to go up or down.... the other 3 windows are working perfectly. Is there a way to fix this?
View 3 RepliesWe had light snow here in Boston tonight, and its a little chilly, nothing crazy. I get into my car after finishing work, start the car as normal and clear the snow off the windows.
Get back in the car, select 'R' and the car doesn't roll back like usual... I apply some gas and... nothing. I try 'D' and again the engine just revs - its just totally failing to get any gears. Engine oil levels are good.
