The remote trunk release as well as the trunk release lever inside my 2001.5 GLS V6 do not pop the trunk anymore so I suspect the motor is gone. I took the trunk cover off and got to the motor. I can't tell from looking at the motor if it is bad or not but I suspect it is. How I can test this to see if it is bad?

View 5 RepliesHave this problem? 500 miles out of warranty and my trunk release lever is broken. The button on the remote still works, but the lever on the floor has no tension on it. It feels like the cable either broke or is no longer attached to the lever.
View 12 RepliesI have a 2008 Passat Komfort. About 2 weeks ago I went to open the trunk and nothing happened. Tried using the button next to the gas door open and still nothing, remote doesn't work, button doesn't work neither does pushing the emblem. I have tried both sets of keys and nothing.
View 4 RepliesMost of the sedans I've owned in the last 25 years had a way to prevent the trunk from being unlocked from the inside without the non-Valet key. Sometimes it would be by turning the trunk lock in a particular way, or there might be a way to disconnect the passenger compartment lever with the non Valet key.
On this base model Camry however, it seems the trunk will always unlock with the hand lever, and the valet key is only for keeping the glove box locked. Is this right?
We recently purchased a 2006 Volvo S60 without an owners manual. We can't seem to find the inside trunk release. Our remote does not work. We cannot seem to get an answer from local Volvo Dealers because they are profit driven and want us to come in so they can sell us service and when we go online to ask a mechanic.

View 16 RepliesMy 2013 Elantra doesn't come with a key lock for the trunk; the only way to open it is via the key fob or the manual release under the driver's seat.
Is there any way to disable the key fob from opening the trunk, so that only the manual release will work? I'd want to do this for security reasons. My old car had a "valet switch" in the trunk, but the Elantra doesn't have it. I don't know if there's a mechanism I can unplug, or if removing the trunk fuse from the interior fuse panel would do the trick...
I'm unable to open my trunk door with the remote, using the key, or with the switch on the drivers side door. I am also pretty sure it is not frozen shut. Will I need to switch out the complete latch assembly or just need to wd-40 something? This is for a 2000 Passat 1.8T Sedan.
View 4 RepliesI picked up a new CSG GTI, 6speed with Xenon and Bluetooth on Thursday. Yesterday evening when I got home from work I opened the hood to make sure everything was cool I guess. Then this morning I was going to open it again, and the release inside the car is loose, like it's hardly attached to anything.
MKVI? I know it's probably a cable issue, but it sucks to have to drive back 50 miles to the dealer, 2 days after buying it, because the hood won't open.

I have had my car for a week and use the trunk every day. Tonight the trunk wouldn't open. Brought it to service and they were just closing, but technician looked quickly and didn't know problem and told me to come back tomorrow. I called Blue Link and they didn't have a clue either. I tried the remote, the trunk release in the car and the release under the trunk itself. I hear a click but it won't open. I even tried the second remote.
View 9 RepliesWhen I press trunk release button on dash or the trunk button on key, I hear the mechanism but trunk will not pop open. I press the button and pull up on the trunk, it is still latched. The key will not go all the way in lock on trunk, I assume it is seized.
I have sprayed 3 in1 penetrate in lock mechanism. Key still will not go in far. I cannot get back seat down. I am wondering if something got caught in latch that is restricting movement.

View 19 RepliesWhen you press your remote, trunk will stay closed and won't open. Must use the lever under the seat for opening it. What can cause this issue.
Battery is new. Also there is some another issue, didn't look it yet, one of the plate lamp is not working while trunk is closed. When you lift up your trunk it will begin work, when you close - no work.I assume there is some wire connection problem, but how it might affect the opening a trunk?
just tradred my IS for an LS and cant seem to open the trunk with the oem remote , even while pressing the button and holding it? i tried the override switch in glove box, no luck. if i open with key and press button on trunk lid, it will close!

I am using torque app.
