Car is fully warmed up (200 deg) and the vents blast ice cold air even on 84 deg temp setting. If I put it on hi-temp it blasts really hot air (like it should). Why I can't get in between temps? This has been going on for 3 weeks now but not all the time.

View 2 RepliesI have a 2006 Passat 2.0T (UK Model), and I'm having trouble with both the outside temperature reading and the climatronic's cooling ability. When I bought the car the air-con was blowing cold and warm air without any problems, but the "cold" air is just a little too warm to be working correctly. I've had the system re-gassed but this didn't solve anything.
As I said, all the features of the air-con work perfectly, it's just the cold air just isn't cold enough - so it seems to me that the compressor is working fine. Also, the outside air temperature reading on the MFD reads about 5-10 degrees too warm. Would this have anything to do with the air-con issue?
Xc 90 D5 2.4 2005 diesel, will not start when it's cold (below +5 degrees), If I use the pre heater for 3 min it starts fine.
I have checked the injectors (leak back test). I checked the glow plugs and they all glow red when I turn on the ignition.
No error codes (Volvo has checked)

Just recently my 2004 Santa Fe 2.7 V6 started having problems when starting on cold days. I live In PA and it just started to dip below 40 degrees. When I go to start my vehicle it will crank over longer like its is not getting fuel or something else. It will eventually start and when I turn it off quickly it will start up fine or after it is warm it will start up normal. When the vehicle sits for some hours and its cold outside it will have trouble starting again. The battery is fine had it tested and cca are just below what the norm is for the battery. Today the temperature was 52 and the vehicle started up just fine with no hesitation or prolonged start.
Another thing that happens when its cold out is right after you put the vehicle in drive and give it gas to start moving it will chug a couple of times before it will have full power then its fine. This has only been happening in the winter. I didn't have any problems with the chugging in the summer.
I can't seem to get the engine temp to middle range on the marker, but yet my heater blows "to me" hot air. Even while sitting in idle for extended amounts of time I cannot get it to "operating" temperature. I would think if my thermostat was stuck open my heater would blow either cold or slightly warm air. I have the 5.4L engine with knn air filter and no cats.

View 6 RepliesSo I went on a trip with my 7.3 PSD the other weekend. It was a 4 hour drive. After 3 hours of driving with the A/C on, the air temp started getting warmer to the point were it seemed like the A/C wasn't working at all. After reaching our destination we didn't drive the truck much or use the AC for 4 days. On the trip home, the AC worked perfectly for the first 3 hours. Then again, the last hour it started to warm up like the AC wasn't functioning at all.

Starting up the car and driving the air is nice and cold for 15 minutes or so.It then slowly goes to warmer air over the next few minutes while driving. Pulling over and checking the AC line with my hand under the hood it is going from ice cold to warm.When it is in this mode of warm air, turning the ac on and off with the dash button you can hear the cooling fan kick in but not the click you usually hear which I think is the compressor clutch engaging. If you turn on and off enough while driving it can sometimes go back to good cold air again very quickly.
I sometimes pulloff after a minute then Im off, but slowly until the engine temp gets to the middle. I won't go caveman on it until the oil temp is almost in the middle too (never quite gets to the middle for the engine oil temp)
Is this logic right? Lexus guy told me it'll warm up as you go. If it was like zero degrees out then yes Id let it idle for 10-15 minutes.
When the a/c fan is on any setting other than the highest setting the air comes out cold. When the fan is set to the highest setting, it only comes out warm. This happens regardless of a/c or max a/c setting, regardless of fresh or recirculated air, and regardless of car speed. (2005 Mustang GT)

On a brighter note...I've sat looking down into a volcano that could blow at any moment.
My Prius has 198K, runs great and has been trouble free. This week it started acting up. The AC will run for a few minutes, blowing very cold, then will blow warm air for a period of time, perhaps 10 minutes, then will blow cold again for a few minutes. It will repeat this several times, then will blow cold until the end of the trip, about another 30 minutes.

Heat blows warm at best and A/C isn't all that cold. I want to believe its a blend door issue and dive into it this weekend and fix it but there isn't a single piece of foam coming out of any of the vents. Of all the systems on the car, HVAC isn't my cup of tea I don't know anything about it. What else could be the problem? I can live without A/C but the heat things must be fixed.

View 3 RepliesI just recently swapped out my Automatic Transmission in my 91 MR2. The person i received it from had the system completely drained, including the torque converter. I found this out kinda hard the way, knowing that the pan was empty, but not expecting the torque converter to be empty as well. After filling up the system, i thought i may have overfilled it, because the fluid level was reading above the hot mark on the dipstick. So i drained the fluid and replaced the transmission filter. I put in 3 quarts of fluid and added the 4th quart of fluid over time, mainly letting the car run and warm up to operating temp and then adding fluid and letting it settle.
I kept doing this until i got to the full mark on hot. So this is where I am at now... On a cold start, the transmission will chatter in all gears, from park to low. Give it about minute or so to start warming up the chattering slowly goes away. When its at operating temperature, there is no chattering at all in any of the gears, and it presumes to be normal and fine. It takes about 5 minutes to fully warm up to operating temperature. Should i worry about the chatter at the beginning while its warming up? i have to drive the car because I want to be sure that the transmission is okay. I have thought about adding an additive, but all that i have read is just bad results, and failed transmissions.
I have a 2014 Lexus IS350 Fsport. When I press the button outside air mode and no fans are on. I get warm/hot air even when the outside temp is cold.

I'm wondering if it has a leak but it should start out blowing warm air? I just wanted some thoughts before I start throwing money at it.
