Phaeton :: Rear Molding Lower Door Separated From Car Body

Jul 7, 2009

I've noticed on both rear doors, the Lower Moulding (black cover at the bottom of the door) #12 in the attached diagram (Light Blue Circle), is very much separated from the body of the car, it's like bended toward the outside, but it seems to be exactly the same on both sides, I am not sure if this is normal or mine has a defect

Both front doors are OK, not 100% perfectly aligned with the body of the car, but MUCH better than the rear doors....

Chevrolet - Blazer :: Rubber Door Molding Separated At Front Corner Of Both Doors

The door molding has come loose at the front corners of both my doors on my 2002 S-10 pickup. I tried weldwood contact cement (the kind you use on laminating Formica counter tops), but it only lasted a couple of days. I put a spot of super glue on it to see if that might work. It looks promising but that little spot that I tried was not enough surface area to hold it for more than a day. I don't want to ruin the trim by super gluing the whole thing if it won't work. How to do this? The trim seems fine otherwise. It is not cracking or anything like that. I think super glue would hold it if I glued the entire length of about a foot or so. Also the driver side door seems to be a bit out of line an eighth of inch or so at the front corner. It does not appear to be adjustable. It has never been in an accident. It does not seem to be leaking into the cab yet with the door closed.

Prius (2010-12) :: Protect Rear Door Lower Body Panel From Scratches?

I just purchased a 2010 Barcelona Red Prius II to replace my 2008 vehicle of the same color (which is going to our daughter). We have a terrific dog who, in my 2008 car, would often step onto the metal part of the car when getting onto or off from the backseat. This has left scratches in the paint, as it lies behind the area protected by the grey plastic in both cars (i.e., where it begins to slope upward). Is there anything that can be done to protect this?

Phaeton :: How To Access Left-rear Door Lower Speaker Grill

The lower speaker grill is cracked, with one side pushed in and the other side pushed out. I would like to "iron" the crack back to a flat condition and see if it will be acceptable. If not I will need to get a new speaker grill. I looked, poked, and prodded, but cannot see how to gain access to the speaker. It doesn't appear to snap in. Is it secured from the back side?

Phaeton :: Sound System - Lower Loudspeaker In Driver Door Gurgles

The lower loudspeaker in the driver's door gurgles. As usual with these things it is hard to describe the sound. There is some echo; it's a bit like reception from a weak radio signal. I thought it might be a speaker fault and was ready to book her in for a new one when I found that the fault is intermittent. All other speakers are fine.

Phaeton :: Window Motor (regulator) Failure - Lower Door Trim Strip Corrosion

I was away from the Phaeton for 2 weeks and managed to let the battery run down to totally dead (left Radar detector on). Started her up on the secondary battery and everything seemed fine, but, a few days later, I had occasion to put down the drivers window - no joy. Tried the passengers window - again no joy. The rear windows were fine. When I try to operate the window I hear a short sound like the window is starting to open, but nothing happens and the glass does not move. Because it is so unlikely that both front windows would fail simultaneously, I suspect a controller may need to be reset. Is there any way to trouble shoot this without a VAG COM?

Phaeton :: Windshield Cracked At The Lower Right Corner Of The Rear View

I have the '05 V8.

The crack seems to originate at the lower right corner of the rear view mirror assembly contact point and spreads out in four opposing directions including two to the top edge of the glass. I could find zero chips on the outside of the glass at the nexus point of the crack. I also did not get hit in the windshield while driving -- not that I noticed anyway.

We went to the opera at night drove it home and noticed no damage and parked in the garage. The next day I went to the garage and noticed the crack (the cracks are about 8 inches long or so). The garage was very hot.

Is it POSSIBLE, and are there any reports of this happening, that the heat or something else caused the rearview mirror assembly to torque and crack the windshield or am I dreaming that I can blame VW and I just must have missed the crack when I drove home and it happened some other way.

Accent RB (2012+) :: Puddle Of Antifreeze On Lower Plastic Under Body

2012 Hyundai Accent
30,000 Miles

Replaced cap
Changed hoses and antifreeze
Leak seems isolated to the upper hose from radiator to filler neck.
Dealership did pressure test and changed clamps with no success.
Not overheating.

I noticed the smell of antifreeze one day and upon inspection came across a small puddle of antifreeze on the lower plastic under body. The car only has 30k on it and decided it wasn't the hoses. I noticed spots of antifreeze around the filler neck and thought it might be the cap. It was a cheap part so changed that out for a new one and still had puddles. I thought it might be the hoses after all and decided why not change all the hoses and antifreeze. Still the puddles are there which only leaves me to believe that it's the filler neck. Unbolted the filler neck for inspection and the inlet/outlet have no issues. I'm thinking it might be where the cap sits on the filler neck. It only seems to happen when it's under pressure. At start up there is no issues. I tried to let it heat up and build pressure to see if I can spot the leak but no joy. I'm guess it happens while under throttle.
