I'm headed north in a couple days to the frigid regions of the country and I little worried cause my blower fan is now completely non-functioning (no heat, no defrost ). It came on a couple times since I bought it recently, usually after hitting a bump and stayed on for a while, but now it hasn't come on at all in a while. I checked all the fuses, they all looked good.

View 19 RepliesI have a 2002 Ford Ranger 3.0L truck that, all of a sudden, has a problem with the HVAC system that blows air only thru the defrost vents even when selecting any other vent levels (defrost, face/middle or floor levels).
I did find a thread on another forum regarding this problem, only it was for the 95-01 Ranger model years, yet they say that the 2002 Ranger is not the same as those earlier models.
My 02 Mountaineer doesn't have any air flow volume out of the heat, defrost, or a/c vents. The temp will change from hot to cold and the air direction will also change from floor, dash, windshield, etc. The a/c recirculation door also seems to be working. The fan sounds as it is running very fast, just not putting out any volume. What should I look for?
View 3 RepliesI have a 2001 Montana. Recently I have no heat/air movement via the defrost vent. All other setting work along with fan. Plenty of heat when set on floor or dash vent. Just doesn't work with the defrost setting in either alone or with the floor.
View 2 RepliesLike the title says; I have a 2001 F350 with No blower Motor and Just Defrost, it is actually a friends, he is building a fence, and I am looking into the truck problem. The just defrost is probably a vacuum issue, but I do not have any book for this truck, so I have no vacuum or wiring diagrams. As far as the blower motor, I am thinking switch or motor, fuse has been checked? Is there any other "control" box involved with this year/model? Also any dash tear-out instructions, to make the access easier?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2002 Prius that isn't blowing any heat. During the winter it wasn't blowing cold air so I put some freon in it and it leaked out I guess. So I added another can or two and the a/c stayed cold longer.
View 16 RepliesStarted up the 2002 EXP today and thought the fuel pump was failing. Get a consistent thump every 1 second. Later today i looked and noted the noise is coming from drivers rear fender well (i think). I took off the small plastic cover of the rear blower motor and thought it was in that area. Disconnected the motor and still thumps. Disconnected the blower motor resistor block and still thumps. Looked at the overhead consol and the rear blower was on HI. Turned the blower down and as you reduce speed the noise volume is lower. Turned the switch off and i thought the noise was gone. Pulled the cup holder above the fender well looking for a relay or something in that area. I cant isolate the noise but seems to be real close to that area. Later i heard the noise, very faint, and the blower switch was off. Turned it to 1-2-3 and it gets much louder. Turned it off and very slight noise. What am i looking for? My hearing is not accurate enough to find it.

View 6 RepliesI found no heat last week in my 01 F150. The AC was cold but no blower. The heat was there but no blower. I replaced the blower motor resistor. Result: i believe a FEW of the speeds worked when turning the fan speed switch...but was intermittent. It would blow L, M, H, then nothing. I jiggled the know on the dash mounted switch and heard it on/off, on/off the motor as I jiggled. I DID notice that when I disco'd the connector off the resistor the HIGH speed worked. Is the switch on the dash perhaps crusty ? Or should I be looknig at the motor itself.
View 4 RepliesMy 2007 Prius has stopped producing cabin heat; the blower fan is working. I have no dash warning indicators. I am in an area where the are no Toyota dealers and need to drive 160 miles to home and shop. It has just turned cold. Why and if I am ok to drive to the shop?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2008 Prius. The blower for the AC and heat stopped working. I have checked the two AC fuses and they are okay. I used the touch screen diagnostics mode on the touch screen and it appears that the touch screen and the screen switches are working. Any other things to check?
How hard is it to access the blower motor to replace or to check if it is getting power? How much of the dash has to be disassembled?
My GF recently purchased a used 2009 Corolla LE when a yuppie type with a bad texting habit, rear ended and totaled her last ride.
It is a great little car with excellent handling and performance. We also enjoy the 30mpg's and sub $40 fill ups.
I drove it recently and noticed a knobby tire sound coming from the rear of the car. I rotated the tires to see if the noise moved with the tires and it did not (this was to rule out a cupping tire). I suspected a wheel bearing / hub failing and took it to my mechanic buddy to confirm. He agreed with me as there are really no other moving parts back there other than the brake shoes. I had already taken it down the highway and gently applied the parking brake to rule that out. No change when the parking brake was applied at highway speeds.
Found the hub assy at Rock Auto and it took about 30 minutes to replace. It comes complete with an abs sensor. The hub housing was blue from excessive heat so it was about to seize or fail completely which would have been ugly.
the bearing rides is actually blue from excessive heat.....
When I turn on windshield defogger no air coming to defrost windshield. Air is coming fine from other vents. Is there a fuse I need to check or some other issue?

View 7 RepliesSeems below 20 my car cannot defrost the windows or heat the cabin. It has been 0-10 the last couple days here in SE WI. The coolant temp gauge is straight up right in the middle. Some how coolant isn't flowing through the heater core. Could this be a design failure? It doesn't seem to matter what settings are on dash. I have tried with ac on and off, recirculation on and off, full defrost on, fan on all speeds, have also tried a combination of cracked windows open.
Are other people experiencing this as well? Is a call to the dealer in order?
For ref car is 2014 tdi se with 34,000miles.
2003 f150 lariat FX4 5.4L ... The heater only blows on defrost, Which vacuum line controls this? is it the black one that runs through the fire wall? What else can I check to narrow the problem down? this truck has the push button/digital controls.
View 7 RepliesWhether in heat or AC mode and any dial position, I'm not getting nearly enough air blowing out of the vents to cool or heat the cabin in a timely manner. The fan switch is working in all positions but I have to use high speed all the time to get enough air to defrost the windshield. I've also noticed that when defrost is selected, air only comes out on the inside part of the vents, not the outside. Is there a cabin filter on this truck, I've checked auto parts stores and they don't list anything for it.
View 2 RepliesThe heating system on my 99 3.4. I'm not getting hot air when selected to full hot or defrost, The air is warm but not hot. I do have water flow through the heater core, I have not changed the thermostat yet. Could it be the dashboard control panel, When I place the blower fan to full on, the fan goes off??

When I run my defrost with the heat on, I smell antifreeze pretty strongly. I am also having trouble keeping the windshield defogger/defrosted without the heat constantly blowing on it. Signs point to heater core, right? So I tried a bottle of Bars Leaks aluminum radiator stop leak with the metal flakes in it. When I run the heat on the feet or front/face/torso setting, it does not smell like antifreeze (unless it's when it very first starts and it's so slight that I don't notice). When I run the defrost with the heat on, it smells pretty strongly of antifreeze. I see no antifreeze on the passenger side carpet.
