How to set TPS to the correct position? I removed it while cleaning the throttle body, and now I can't seem to get it positioned correctly. The engine keeps revving its self while in park. I read AllData's instruction about starting with a 15 degree rotation to the right and then adjusting it using a Toyota hand held meter (which I don't have).

As I know that this in the correct position and that the motor won't suffer damage. I wanted they could send me a diagram to see better as it is or that I use of reference to put it.

View 24 RepliesThe "car" symbol on the nav screen seems to lag the actual position by up to 1/2 block.... when I make turns onto another street, for example, the map will sometimes indicate that I am turning into the block itself (instead of the street that I am on), and about 1/4 mile later, it will mysteriously "shift" the car location back onto the correct street.
View 24 RepliesMy 2002 Prius A/C is acting strange. From what I understand, if you have Max A/C on it will keep the ICE running. Lately my car isn't doing that. Whenever I'm at traffic with the Max A/C on it will go into stealth mode then it will turn the engine on then back off again in a cycle.
Also whenever I hit the brakes or simply slowing down with the ac on the whole car will shake violently like theres a strong earthquake and its about to stall unless I shut the A/C off. This only occurs when the A/c is on btw.
Note :: I've had my ac charged so its not out of refrigerant. But I don't know what's causing it.
1988 Bronco II 2.9L Issues:
- When I turn off the wiper switch the wipers immediately stop in place, they do not continue to their normal 'down' position.
- The switch's adjuster to slow the wipers isn't working, only the low and high settings work.
What I've done so far:
- Replaced wiper switch with used from spare parts.
- Replaced wiper switch with new from spare parts.
- Replaced wiper motor with remanufactured from Autozone.
- Thoroughly cleaned wiper motor ground terminals.
- Replaced interval wiper governor with used from spare parts.
The problem occurred after the truck sat in my garage for 6 months while I removed and reinstalled the engine to replace some gaskets & seals.
I HAVE A 2001 10 CYL EXCURSION with Pirelli Scorpion 265/75R 16 AT tires Istill can't get a good answer on correct tire Pressures-door plate says 38/45 tire wall says 80psi max. I've seen guys post 55/65 for non towing then maybe 60/70 for towing. Currently my steering kinda sloppy-inflations were messed up 55-52 front and 50-47 rear- also manual hubs somehow were in lock pos.Just had ball joints done but mechanic said didn't need alignment.
View 14 RepliesI'm still trying to get my project 2001 Prius to attempt to start the ICE. I can drive the car around electric only, so MG2 is OK. I see a pulse of current going to MG1 as it does it's startup tests. So I'm thinking maybe the MG1 position sensor is faulty. Where on the transaxle the MG1 position sensor wire is located?

View 4 RepliesRecently had HV battery replaced by dealer in my 2005 with 129k.
2 days later the 12v went dead. I removed and replaced it, no problem except when I tried to go to my nav the screen said "please install correct map dvd".
I have never had a problem with my nav since buying the car new in 2005. I assume the problem is connected to the loss of 12v power. The player is under the pass seat.
Driving on my original tank from dealer today from Upstate NY to NYC. On the way my C had 4 bars to begin then went to 3, then 2 after about 90 miles of traveling at avg of about 55mph. I watched the cruising distance go down to 1 but I still had 2 bars on my fuel gauge (and my crusing distance was conservative compared to my mpg reading the whole trip, which was hovering around 58mpg).
The gauge went from 2 bars to one flashing bar in about 1 minute. I pulled into a gas station about 2 miles ahead and put in about 5 gallons... this put the fuel gauge up to 3/4s or about 3 bars above the halfway mark. What gives? I know there are fuel gauge issues but I thought with two bars I would have had plenty of time before I needed to fill up on these roads with these mpgs.
I have a 2001 Buick Century which is more or less reliable. Last year the fan stopped working on the first (low) setting, but continued to work on levels 2-5. Air came out of all of the vents, using the fan, A/C, or heat with no problems. A few days ago, level 2 stopped. The next day levels 3 and 4 stopped. The fan still works on the highest setting, but it's just starting to be summer in Minnesota and I'm worried that level 5 will stop on the hottest day of the year. Is this a simple fuse problem I can fix myself? Complicated repairs are probably beyond me, but I can do basic repairs.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2001 Toyota Sequoia that started having problems with the intermittent setting on the wipers. It is now to the point that it runs just like the slow wiper setting with no delay, it also doesn't "park" the wipers when turned off. I found that with the ignition in ACC position the wipers work perfectly (intermittent works and wiper "parks" properly when turned off) but when the engine is running I only have a Low or High wiper speed and no "Parking". I have researched online and most say to replace switch or wiper motor but both work with engine off so I am wandering if it is being overpowered with the engine running.
View 4 RepliesMy cruise control has been acting very funny lately. The light comes on normal all the time when I press on/off. However about half the time the cruise does not set when I press set. By this I mean, on Monday this week my cruise refused to set on my way to work, but on my way home it worked just fine. On Tuesday, the cruise worked perfect all day. Today, it did not work going to work or coming home.
View 6 RepliesMy 2001 f350 a/c blower works better on a/c compared to max a/c . When I turn the selector to max a/c it makes more of a blowing noise but less air blows out of the vents though. When I select plain a/c it makes less noise but blows more air out of the vents. What is wrong and how to go about fixing it is 93 here today and won't get much cooler over the summer months .

I have a Gen II problem with my air conditioning. The air conditioning works; however, the air is stuck blowing in the defrost setting. I think there is some problem with the Air Mix Servo. In my non Prius cars they called the part a blend door actuator. Long story short, the air will not move to the front vents or anywhere else. That said, I can't hear the servo moving at all.

Is there some setting that I am missing? I am a 61-year-old new Prius owner and having trouble with all of these fancy electronics.
View 5 RepliesI thought I wouldn't have need of the defrost for several months yet, but today we had unusually cold rain and my windows soon fogged up. The fan (not a/c) was already running at a very low setting (one or two clicks only) when I depressed the defrost button. Roughly 15 seconds later, it was like a hurricane in the cabin! The fan moved to the highest setting all by itself. This did clear the windshield in seconds, but it was a bit disconcerting. This phenomenon repeated itself all three times that I engaged the defrost button. Is the defrost supposed to do that? I swear, the sudden change startled me so much, I hit my head on the ceiling of the cabin...
