Sometimes when I hit the start button it takes a couple of minutes for the AC to start blowing air. I even tried stopping and shutting off and restarting but it still took a few minutes to start blowing. It doesn't do this all the time just every now and then.

View 3 RepliesSeveral tries at power button failed. Icon on dashboard (small car image) flashing whether nor not I was in the car. Lights worked and emergency flashers worked. After many tries, called AAA. The AAA driver got in the car and it started right up and has worked ever since. Called dealer. Never heard of such a thing. What happened.
View 1 RepliesI have a gen2 2007 prius (right hand drive). Problem I am having is [INTERMITTENT]when pressing the ignition button to turn off the car. When I press the button the system completely shuts down instantly and rather roughly and nothing is active (the Key is still in). I then remove the key and the system starts up! I then press the button to stop the system, put the key back in and restart it. It then works fine - until the next time. Clock resets itself as does the climate controls. Not sure what to make of this. I have just recently replaced the 12v battery in the boot.
PS. Forgot to mention that when the system goes dead, if I fold down back seat and thump the floor panel above the battery under the seat the system goes on?? Any clues. Will take it to mechanic as soon as he gets back from holiday!
I have a 2007 Toyota Prius. When I press the brake pedal and press the start button the engine does not start or the wheels are not powered by the battery. It gives me the following errors:
The indicator in the Start button lights in Amber Color.
0 kmph mark is not activated in the dash board pannel.
When I shift the gears it only shifts to neutral ("N") gear.
I cant move the car forward or backward. An error message is displayed in the MFD in Japanese language. It is in Japanese and I cant read the error message.
So i just bought my lexus es350 2007 and I just realized that my driver's side doesn't blow cold air unlike the passenger's side i tried to google it and then i believe as i read on here its the blender door.
View 5 RepliesMy 2007 Prius does not blow cold air, I bought the car back in March, when the weather was cold, so I never used the AC. I don't use the AC at all, I always roll my windows down if it ever gets too hot, but I recently have guests over, and I turned the AC on as I thought it would be a better and comfortable drive for my guests who are in town.
Anywho, the AC doesn't work. I obviously feel air, and I feel the apropriate levels (low, medium, high), but the temperature is just warm. It is set all the way to the lowest. I was going to fill up the refrigerant, but after doing some research, I quickly stopped and saw that the Prius has a very complex approach to its AC system. I am not sure if this is really a compressor issue, or just having low levels of refrigerant, but I'd love to get down to a basic diagnosis so I can understand what my costs are, and what potential issues it can cause.
Relatively new Prius owner. I have a 2007 Touring model. I have two concerns I'm hoping some veterans can address for me.
1. I noticed last night that my left HID headlight turns off randomly (I saw it in the reflection of the car in front of me). I turned off the lights and turned them back on, and the headlight was working again for about 5 minutes before turning off again. This consistently happens so I'm pretty much driving with only one headlight on. The right headlight isn't having this problem, luckily.
Looks like Toyota had a settlement over the issue. I would post a link but since I'm a new users it's not allowing it.
So this has already happened to me a 2nd time so far.
I depress brakes and hit the power button once when I first drive it in the morning after the Prius has been sitting for a while.
Instead of the power LED turning green, it turns red/amber, and the ready light does not show up blinking or come on at all. To me it almost appears to be in IG-ON mode.
I hit the power button again (can't remember if my foot was on the brake) and all the accessories shut down/car shuts down and I see the shifter indicator on the screen.
I then try to start again by depressing brake and hitting power button once. Now everything starts up fine and the ready symbol is there.
A few weeks ago, I bought a new condenser, compressor, evaporator, expansion valve, ac line for my 2010, 200000 mile Prius and had them installed by a dealership. They weren't too happy about my independent purchase of parts , but they did the job.. After a few days, there was no longer cold air. The dealership is 1000 miles from where I live. They are willing to start over again, for free, and see where the leak is but I can't travel to there for awhile, and, already the heat is oppressive in the middle of the day. I asked the local dealership if they would run a test of the system which will be a bit expensive, and they agreed. But, they cannot guarantee that the test will be conclusive. After almost 3000 dollars spent on this, I really do not know where to go from here.

A/C starts to blow warm air if i drive the car more than 30min. look like once the engine heats up its start to blow hot air. What will be the issue?
Only twice i got the VSC and Engine Check light. but it went off after 2 days. i Took it to the auto shop and did a scan, they said its giving lots of code (codes like: C1241, U0073, U0123,U0124, U0126, U0293, U0111) and they have reset the codes. and told if you get warning lights again then they can try.
I just bought a used 2007 Prius, and when I turn the car on, the light on the Power button is red, then goes away once "READY" appears?

View 5 RepliesI have a 2007 with 46,000 miles. Today I went out to run an errand and when I got to the store, the start button would not shut off. At the same time the dashboard went dark so no speed or mileage could be seen, but no warning lights came on. I tried pressing it repeatedly to no avail.

View 2 RepliesMy dashboard goes out periodically then magically is restored. They say to replace that. I've decided just to trade it in and get a non-Prius. This morning, however, after driving for a short time, I pushed the power button to turn off the vehicle and it only partially shut off. The key wasn't in, so I put it in and tried again. Now it says there's no key in the ignition and still will not turn off nor turn on.
View 16 RepliesMy Pris 2010 would not start this morning. My wife tried to start the car this morning and it would not start. All the symbols on the display light up and would not go. She then tries to turn off the car, but the Triangle symbol with the exclamation mark within it lights up. The Start button light is red and the Park button flashes green. Added to that is the constant beep that you hear when you try to close the door with the keys in the car. I cannot even turn the steering wheel. I had to get it towed to the Toyota dealer and am was told that i would hear back tomorrow.
View 19 RepliesI've had a Prius (2nd generation) since 2006 and have been thrilled with it.
So today, I purchased a Prius V (three, I believe). Very happy with it in general so far, but incredibly disappointed to discover that some of the features I have most enjoyed about my 2nd generation don't seem to come with my version of the Prius V.
On my Prius (2nd), I can unlock the hatch (and all other doors) simply by depressing the rectangular button with the key FOB in my pocket. That does *not* work on my Prius V and everything in the manual and what I can find online says that it *should* work.
My radio was working fine on Friday, but the next time I drove the car, on Sunday, the radio wouldn't turn on. The power button doesn't do anything, pressing the mode button doesn't do anything and the voice command button doesn't do anything.
Everything else works... bluetooth, display, Nav. Just the radio/CD player won't turn on... it just says "Audio Off". Also, when I go into the diag screen, the Audio reports "NCON". I've checked the fuses listed in the Owners Manuel as audio and they all seem fine.
2006 when started, the lighted ring around the power/start button is red, where I guess in the past it would light up green.
The closest thing I could find to suggest what it might mean would be a bad 12v battery. Those articles I found relating to the 12v battery said the car would also have the red triangle light lit up in the instrument panel along with the red ring around the power/start button.
Here's an odd one. On our mildly cold winter mornings ~12 degC the radio on button doesn't work. This is regardless of the power status the night prior. What's even weirder if that if climate control is off and you turn it on the radio button is fixed. Earth leak, cold temp resistance, 12V battery?
