My 2007 (with Nav package and aftermarket Sirius radio) recently started losing channel settings on the Sirius (not on the FM radio!), the dash clock resets, and, recently, the miles-per-gallon and miles driven since last fill-up reset to zero. These events are sporadic, but have started occurring more often. The dealer seems unable to figure out the problem.

Since then, we have driven about 1000 miles and now we are getting only about 41 miles per gallon. Are we doing something wrong that made the MPG drop over 10 miles per gallon.
View 6 RepliesRecently, my 2006 has been showing a decline in MPGs. I purchased a K&N filter several months ago hoping that it would work in getting better MPGs. I also watch my tire's air pressure, but the MPGs still fall off. I used to get around 43mpg in town and 45 to 47 on the highway. Now, I'm lucky to get 39mpg no matter where I'm driving.
I've been thinking of changing the spark plugs since I'm sort of grasping at straws. Also, someone told me that the older the battery pack (NHW20) gets the less MPGs I can expect. Maybe true maybe not! My Prius has a little over 60,000 miles on it and it shouldn't be loosing MPGs.
I just bought a 08 Screw with the 5.4 3 valve, 4x4 with the 373 gears, and 25,000 miles on it. I love the truck, but what is the best that you have gotten for mileage on your trucks with the 373 gears? Does it do better at 75 mph or 55? I haven't checked mine yet so I am wondering what to expect...
View 8 RepliesI bought a 2012 Prius new and averaged just under 53 miles per gallon for the first 15,000 miles regularly. I have a long commute so my driving mix of city/highway is pretty consistent. When starting the car one morning there was a fairly loud series of clicking sounds from the engine compartment, which then stopped. From that point forward the mileage has dropped to just under 50 mpg. Same driving habits. I am bringing the car if for it's 20,000 mile check up shortly. Any ideas if something happened to the battery I should ask about? It is still under warranty.
View 4 RepliesI put 30dlls but when it was going on 24$ pump stopped, and I insisted on getting 25$ so I put another dollar but tank was filled cause the gun stopped again , then I go with the filled tank 2 days ago, I have traveled 110 miles and the cluster keep showing full gas bars, not even one bar has gone, I'm worried about misleading info about gas, is this normal,, maybe tomorrow it start dropping ,,if not it can be reset? Or I screwed the tank sensor or something? There's a way to reset gas reading? btw 55.4 mpg on those 110 last traveled miles,
View 12 RepliesRecently my santa fe has been acting up. One time I got in and nothing came on, no light, door noise, nothing. I closed, then opened my door and everything turned back on, clock reset itself and the cd changer kept shuffling through the cds. Another time this happens before I got in the car. I opened my door to hear the cd changer shuffling and the clock had reset. This has happened 4 time in the pasted 3 weeks.

View 11 RepliesI have a 2004 Kia Sedona. The clock on the overhead console and the wiper fluid pump are both working only intermittently and they alternate working. In other words, when one works the other does not. My mechanic has checked it and has not found anything obvious.

View 5 RepliesSo, I've now had my 2015 F250 6.7 Diesel for about 2 weeks and I just turned over 1000 miles (damn I love driving this truck). And, I'm dying to find out if my mpg experience coincides with any other truck. With no load I am consistently getting right at 22.5 mpg at 70 miles per hour. With all in town driving and no load I'm holding right at 15 mpg. And I've noticed something else that seems odd. I'm actually getting a little worse mileage at 60 and 65 than I do at 70 miles per hour. What is going on there? Do these engines get a little better mileage as they get more miles on them?
View 3 RepliesThe battery gauge on my 2007 seems to be dropping much faster than it used to. I can back out of my driveway with full green, and be down to purple in two miles of <45MPH driving. It also seems to recharge faster, as if the 'window' of usable charge has become much narrower.
I took it in for the 45K service, and asked the dealer to investigate. The tech wrote that everything is fine, and that this behavior is normal because "this is deep cycle battery".
Two questions: If the main battery fails completely, will the car still be driveable or will I be stranded at that point?
The little 12V battery is still the original that came with the car. Could it cause the above symptoms?

1st rebuilt (Dorman) battery installed April 15 - Failed July 2015.
2nd rebuilt (Dorman) battery installed July 2015 - Failed October 2015.
3rd OEM (Toyota) battery installed October 2015.
Front end alignment (stay with me) May 2016.
Intermittent Red Triangle of Doom June 2016-present.
Installed Camber kit (yesterday...)
After I realized that I could duplicate the conditions for the triangle appearing/disappearing (brake/veer left to make it come on, accelerate/veer right to make it go away), I relaxed on the urgency of getting this addressed. After all - if the triangle goes away, there really isn't much of an enduring problem (I thought).
Brought the Prius to Legacy Toyota (Tallahassee, FL - BTW, I have only good things to say about this Toyota dealership) and the mechanic and I replicated the conditions while the Toyota diagnostic computer was attached.
I am a relatively new owner of a 2007 Prius and am curious about a sound I hear quite often while driving.
The sound is similar to a cd changer changing disks my package doesn't have the disk changer). It seems to happen when braking but I haven't pinned it down to one catalyst.
It seems to be a normal sound and I am not worried about it since riding in my roommates '07 Prius and heard the same sound.
Yesterday when i was driving on highway on my dash board the lights came on: the check engine light, master light, brakes lights. After driving couple of miles my car completely shut down. I took the exit and after that the car didn't start at all. Even i couldn't start the ignition to connect my OBD scaner to read the codes. Now I even can't do something to read the codes or to turn the engine on somehow, what to do.
View 17 RepliesJust got the car and every time I stop and restart the car the clock reset to 1:00. everything else works fine and nothing else resets. no fuses are blown, etc. Radio presets and memory seats keep their settings. called the dealer and they are supposed to be getting back to me.
View 14 RepliesI recently had my oil changed. And when I was driving home noticed my clock had reset. I have a brand new battery. I set the clock back to the right time, then headed out of town the next day. When I went to turn off the interstate my blinker did not work at all. When I pulled into a station I saw neither one worked.
My 2006 Elantra is also suddenly using double the amount of gas. I took it to a place 2 days later when I got home. The turn signals decided to start working the second it went in the shop, yet hadn't worked 10 minutes before I got there, and they didn't know what the cause of the clock resetting itself would be, or the higher gas usage.
I did have somebody check to make sure my battery cables were tight. I am at a loss yet these problems all started at the exact same time. What I could have checked? My car ran great before this last oil change. Now I don't even go out of town because of it hogging gas.
I drove two days ago. Yesterday I didn't drive. I just walked out to start my car and it won't start. It keeps cranking (click noise). The lights are turned on, locks response to my remote, radio works, but I noticed the clock was set back to 12:00 and it's 4:00pm right now.
Two days ago, I noticed my car hesitate a little when I accelerated to 35-40.

Turns out i needed a battery replace. my battery was having 67 amps compared to 500 requirement.
Question: Does low battery life cause the car to hesitate (like as if the cylinder misfire) at 35-40 mph acceleration?
I have a 2002 Avalon XLS with 160K. I recently had the clock spring replaced by a friend, which fixed what it was supposed to fix - airbag light went off, cruise works, horn works. He did disconnect the battery when he did the work.
Whenever I turn off the car, and turn it back on, the time and date have resent to default, and I lose all the radio settings like stations, bass, treble, etc.
I have to admit I'm not sure if the current problem started RIGHT after the clock spring work, or a bit later. I'm thinking I would have noticed it right away. But I know the time/date and radio settings did work right before.
I've scoured the internet and can't find an actual answer - a lot of "could be". My hope is that the "secondary, memory" power fuse is blown.
My info screen will display all info but the clock will reset over and over and the. Buttons will not respond?

I have been having electrical issues with my 2001 manual transmission Jetta. At times I turn the car off, remove the key and the radio stays on, trip mileage and clock will reset. I also had where I was at a stopped at a traffic light and the ABS, engine light, and another light (not sure which one, it was too fast) flashed on for half a second. What should be looked at first and possible changed?
