The air bag light on the dashboard has come on. I took the car into my dealership. The upshot is they said they'd have to rip the interior apart to track the problem or "Break in the floor wiring harness."
View 19 RepliesI have a problem with Airbag light - it blinks in the dashboard. The dealer turned it off twice (by connecting their computer) but it came back again. I'm pretty sure (and the dealer thinks the same) the problem is related to wiring because the light does not blink sometimes. And, when it does not blink, sometimes it starts blinking again, especially when I drive fast and make a "sharp turn" (hope that makes sense).
So far, I only know the faulty airbag is in the driver's seat (the dealer told me so). Since they turn the light off and it comes back again later, they suggest me leaving the car in the service, so they can remove the driver's seat and check the issue.
Last night, my 2008 Prius was hit from the rear. The bumper was damaged as well as a few starches on the hatch. However the latch for the hatch was move forward so the hatch no longer latches. Also during the collision, my daughter's heavy backpack was throw against the back of the passenger seat with enough force to hurt her back.
The airbag warning light remains on along with the dash indicator saying the airbag is off. Does mean all the airbags are disabled? Can this be reset? The car will be professionally repaired but I still need to drive it until I can get it repaired.
Starting a couple of days ago, I am getting the airbag fault light on the dashboard. Can't seem to explain why. I have never changed any wiring on the car, nor installed aftermarket electronics. I have the car for about a year now. At the time when the light came on, the weather outside was very cold.

View 8 RepliesThis morning I tried to drive my 2008 Prius and the "check engine" light quickly blinked and the dashboard didn't light up. The monitor did turn on and I could hear the engine running. The monitor showed that the hybrid battery was almost full. While trying to go in reverse, the camera did not work. We just had an oil change done. The 12V battery was replaced almost 2 years ago. The car has almost 150K on it. I also tried tightening the gas cap. It's obviously winter and it snowed last night (in case that might be a factor).
View 19 Replies3 days ago I bought a used 2009 Prius, the car was totally fine until today. Went down to the food mart in a gas station ..went back, and the car wont start. Lights start to flash and then it got dimmer, dashboard light went off but the check engine light.
I thought it was the 12v battery, I jump started it and the car started but with the red triangle light and the check engine light. drove it home switched it off (the warning lights were on all the time back home). tried it to switch on again but nothing happened everything is dead even the door locks.
My airbag warning light came on yesterday in my new/used 2005 Prius Gen 2, and after a moment of thinking there was a a serious malfunction, I have deduced that it's because I had just put in an infant car seat behind the passenger seat. Evidently any pressure exerted against the passenger seat back causes the airbag warning light to illuminate.

On my 2008, there is usually just the "airbag" light lit and when someone sits on the passenger seat, it will determine to light the "on or off" light.

View 5 RepliesI dropped my car off two Thursdays ago for servicing. I planned to leave the car with them overnight because I needed the 150,000 mi servicing, the steering extension shaft recall, an oil change, and a new battery. The technicians performed a safety check as per the 150,000 mi servicing and reported nothing wrong with the airbag system.
I picked my car up at the end of the following day. When I started up my car, I noticed that the read air bag light was on in the car. Since the servicing center was closing and they had reported to me that my car was safe, I did not think there was a safety issue. I left with my car and parked it in my driveway for the weekend.
On Monday, while driving, I noticed that the lights in my steering wheel were not on and none of the buttons worked (cruise control, volume, temperature, ect.). I called the Toyota dealership that afternoon and left a message. They called me back on Tuesday and scheduled me to come in on Thursday.
I am the new owner of Prius 2008. I have it just a week.
Now, when I drive, I notice the passenger air bag light is always on, whether there is a passenger in the seat or not. Is this normal?

Got flagged by a fellow driver, and told both tail lights were out; I had no dashboard warning light. Headlights were on, blinkers worked, brake lights worked. This is a small deal, but I was surprised; is there really no warning for this (2006 mid-package), or is something else the matter?

I have a unique situation:
•No passenger: light is "Airbag" - No red flashing seat belt sign
•Passenger with seat belt: light is "Airbag" - No red flashing seat belt sign
•Passenger with no seat belt: light is "Airbag" - No red flashing seat belt sign
I have no other warning lights on the dash.
I tried to check to check if there are any loose wires/connectors under the passenger seat but everthing looks ok.
Is there a blown fuse?
Had the outline of the passenger airbag show on the dashboard? My 2013 Passat has a very noticeable outline on the dash right above the airbag door. The dealer says they have not seen this before.

View 1 RepliesI purchased a 2006 Volkswagen Golf TDI from the auction that had blown passenger and drivers airbag. I replaced the dashboard and both airbags, as well as the airbag control module and now the vehicle won't start. It started fine before replacing it.
The only code I got before was the 18996 Prior to this as well as a bunch of airbag ones (obviously due to the air bags)

I cleared all of these codes and 01314 and 17978 are cleared but still won't start so I'm sure its just a matter of time before those codes kick in again. I tried searching these codes and still can't figure it out from all my research. Hopefully I didn't miss connecting something during my dashboard replacement?
I went to start my 2004 Camry one freezing night and out of no where my airbag light came on. The bags didn't deploy I'm just lost and want it fixed? I don't know it's its a fuse or a sensor?
