I have a 2008 prius and had to change my drivers side airbag recently. Before it was changed, it started just fine, but now after it was changed and the airbag computer was reset the car doesn't start. It does shift from park to neutral, but not into drive, reverse or B position.
View 6 RepliesI tried a few used batteries I had laying around, so then I ordered the exact battery that was in the fob, Panasonic 2032 and it still doesn't work. The car has always sensed my hand at door and I still don't need to put the key in the slot. I can just push start, but the lock and unlock buttons don't respond.
I've read that the red light should come on when the buttons are pressed, and they don't with the new battery so the new battery is probably too weak.
I have a 2007 Prius. the ribbon in the clockspring broke. I had to replace it this week and now my airbag light is on.

View 12 RepliesFrom time to time, climate control will stop working. Buttons are not lit up or responsive, fans do not work, and computer doesn't show outside temperature. Problem can last a day, an hour, 10 minutes, or any other time frame. Most of the time once it stops working it will not start working until left parked and locked overnight. Sometimes when we start driving it would all of a sudden start working on its own. This has happened during multiple seasons and multiple weather conditions.
I took the car to Lexus dealer who decided it would be a smart idea to replace the whole climate control unit in the dash, well this past weekend the problem occurred again with brand new climate control unit in place.
I changed a bad cell in my hybrid battery (only one cell was bad) and put everything back together and it wont start. I've double checked all connections, fuses, everything I took off. I put the orange plug back in, fiddled with it, pushed it in more. It's got a brand new 12V battery and I dropped it off at autozone to get it charged up as well. I washed and detailed the entire car even washed under the hood with the washer from the car wash like I have done many times before on other cars. On sunday the air bag light came on. Could have this been from me washing under the hood or is there a true problem. How do I check the air bag system and how can I reset the light.
View 6 RepliesSo the evaporator in my dads Prius had been leaking for a while so we finally decided to bite the bullet and change it. Everything came apart fine. Changed the evap and expansion valve. Put it pretty much back together except for glove box and a pillar trim pieces. Push power button twice to make sure all the flaps and blower motor works as it should. Well the blower motor doesn't come on. I hear the relay click when you turn the fan on in the mid. No power at the fan though. I checked just to be sure. I've looked all over for loose wires/plugs but have yet to find anything. I started the car up and everything works fine except the blower motor. What it could be?
View 13 RepliesI changed the oil. Then I needed to reset the maintenance light. I followed the owners manual directions, which worked and I saw the 00000000 in the odometer. Now all the warning lights are on and the car won't start. I suspect it's related to the order or timing of pushing the start button but I'm afraid to try too many times. What this is?

View 1 RepliesWeird thing happened this evening. About sunset I went out to the front porch and pressed the door lock button on the fob to lock the doors. It honked at me. Never done that before.
Then it started making a loud clicking noise, like a relay, from under the hood. I went around to the drivers door and pressed the unlock button but the doors did not unlock. Pulled the emergency key out of the fob and opened to door.
I was thinking maybe it just wanted me to start it up and recharge for a minute. Haven't driven it since last Thursday before a spell of freezing weather on Friday & Saturday.
Inserted key fob in dash socket & tried to start it - nothing happened except some warning lights on the dash started blinking in time with the relay clicking sound. Turned it off & back on and door locks started clicking like it was trying to lock & unlock.
Kept turning it off and on, tried to manually unlock or lock the doors. Left the door open and went inside & put a new battery in the key fob, went out to try again. Tried to start it but it would not. Eventually, everything stopped except the "Check Engine" light came on. Car still won't start. Now I can't lock the drivers door.
How long you have to drive a car after you reset computer before all the systems will respond? I have an '02 RT with a 3.5L. I had to reset to clear a check engine light on Tuesday and when I went to get an emissions test on Friday it failed because it could not get a reading from the evap or cat sensors. He said I would have to drive it a while for those to have readings but how long.
View 1 RepliesI just bought a 2000 Saturn SC2 that had a "service engine soon" light on. I took it to the shop to get it inspected and they reset the computer and said that I needed to drive it around 100 miles to reset the computer so it would pass MO state emissions. After driving it 160 miles only two of the required have reset. I took it on the highway at 55 MPH steady for 2 miles. Actually did around 8 miles. as the shop suggested and that did not work.
View 3 RepliesI used to drive an Acura which had an option to have the trip computer automatically reset each time after refuel. I spoke to my dealer and they mentioned that this is an option.. I was able to get the 'range' to display be default but haven't been able to figure this out yet.

View 2 RepliesLast night, my 2008 Prius was hit from the rear. The bumper was damaged as well as a few starches on the hatch. However the latch for the hatch was move forward so the hatch no longer latches. Also during the collision, my daughter's heavy backpack was throw against the back of the passenger seat with enough force to hurt her back.
The airbag warning light remains on along with the dash indicator saying the airbag is off. Does mean all the airbags are disabled? Can this be reset? The car will be professionally repaired but I still need to drive it until I can get it repaired.
Sometimes when I hit the start button it takes a couple of minutes for the AC to start blowing air. I even tried stopping and shutting off and restarting but it still took a few minutes to start blowing. It doesn't do this all the time just every now and then.

View 2 RepliesJust got a (second) 2012 RX350. 13,000 miles. The Distance to Empty is confusing me. Doesn't come close to matching the tank size times either the mpg since last fill-up, or the overall average mpg. Overall mpg is 17.x. mpg since last fill-up varies from 17-21. But when I fill the tank, the DTE says maybe 260. With a 20gal tank the DTE after a fill-up should be in the 340-350 range.
This isn't happening on our other 2012 RX350 with about the same number of miles.
The needle gas gauge appears to be right, based on where the needle is before a fill-up and the number of gallons purchased.
Can you reset airbag fault with the KEYII-USB.....
