How to remove a window from the rear doors? I have the door panel off and removed the 2 nuts which secure the window to the motor apparatus. From this point I can pull the front door windows out, but not the rear windows.

Symptom: Only rear left electric window and electric lock are not working. They are not responding to driver side control or remote key control. Electronics on other 3 doors function normally.
I just had some body work on the doors on the passenger side. Now the master window control (drivers door) will not operate the rear passenger window. The rear passenger door window control DOES work. I went right back to the body shop and let them know.The guy called back saying something about a guy coming this monday to do a system reset?

How do I remove the passenger side rear door panel to gain access to the bottom of the window to jam it in the closed position, 2004 Jeep GC. Window regulator cable broke, window slid down, I pushed the window up & shimmed it with a door stop to keep it up. Replacing the regulator & cable is very expensive & I don't care if the window works or not. I removed a screw from behind the inside door handle & from the grip cup (used to close the door) & pulled the top of the panel about 2 inches away from the door. It appears that something beside the snap-in clips is preventing the rest of the panel from popping off.

The fuse panel under the dash on the drivers side doesn't have it marked and the local dealer can't tell me where it is either. They want me to bring it in, of course! Exactly where this fuse is located?

All the other elements on the top and bottom seem to be working correctly. Is there a way to correct this without taking it to the dealer?

I'm kinda worried about this while I'm offshore because I have a power sliding window and I don't want it to ruin anything that moves the window. One was that after a heavy night a rain there was a small pool of water in the very back of the car underneath the cargo area near the wire that runs from the traction battery. In fact the little prongs holding a slim white (electronic) box connecting to the battery were rusted out.

The owners manual, page 316, has the 3 fuse box locations and it says there is a 40 amp fuse in location #2 in fuse box under dash (says there is a 30 amp in location #1 for power windows). When I popped the cover off the fuse box and looked - there are NO fuses greater that 25 amps anywhere. Windows work fine. in addition - none of the actual fuse numbers line up with what the manual says or with what the inside of the fuse box cover says.
View 8 RepliesMy 1999 Passat has the common "power window goes up, but won't go down" problem in the right rear door. I followed the advice in this forum and re-inserted the plastic pin. A few weeks later it popped out. I re-inserted it again this time with some glue. It held for a few months before popping out again. I bought a new pin from the dealer but the new pin fits so tight it is impossible to insert it into the hole at the base of the window. Maybe I don't have enough experience jamming things into tight holes, but I suspect there is a special trick needed to insert the pin. I can see why the old pin kept popping out since it wasn't tight enough to keep it secure. How to Insert brand new Plastic Pin in Regulator?

It opens from outside OK but is not opening from inside regardless what we are trying to do. It only one door misbehaves, the right rear door. How to fix this problem and why it happened?
View 9 RepliesI thought this might be a little difficult but it wasn't at all. Simplest door panel that I've ever pulled off.
first remove the panel that goes around the door handle, gently pry it up in the front where the speaker grill meets the panel, use a couple of flat head screw drivers for this. It will pop up once the tabs are released, then you can remove it.
Then remove the window/lock control panel, the front of this will need to be gently pulled up and then you can remove it by sliding it forward. Don't pry up on the rear or you can break the tab off. Unplug the three wire connectors/plugs. A small flat head will work with this.
Remove one 7mm screw behind the panel that you just removed, then remove the two 7mm screws on the very bottom of the door panel.
Now simply lift the door panel straight up and then outward, remove the last wire connector for the power mirrors & it's off.
I also replaced the outside door handle & lock assembly. It was very easy as well. just a 12mm socket, 1/4" drive ratchet & small flat head screw driver.
Recently disconnected the battery, now rear window switch flashes whenever the door is opened and the hvac switches will not work for around 30 seconds, how to recalibrate the door/hvac system...

We are on the highway now and I noticed for the first time some very annoying wind noise coming from the rear headliner between the door and the small window. It almost sounds as if the widow is opened a crack but I checked.
