I have a 2007 prius and when I pass 30 miles per hr the slip indicator light start blinking and a beeping sound. What is going on and I have a vsc light on too
View 4 RepliesMy Prius touring had 4 205/55/16 tires. I had the mechanic change the front two tires to 205/50/16 and now, whenever I drive over 60mph, the slip indicator light flashes continuously. When I slow down, it goes away.
Is it because the front and rear tires are mismatched? If so, I'll have the mechanic change the rear to 205/50/16 as well.
After I had the transaxle replaced in my 2008 I was driving on the interstate and the traction control light started blinking and a beeping came out of the dash area. A fast beep-beep-beep-beep-beep... for about a minute then stopped. I took it back to the dealer and they said it didn't throw any code plus "that shouldn't have anything to do with the transaxle".
Everything was fine until a few days ago it rained and it did it again three times, only at highway speeds, stopping after I got under 37 mph. Is something getting wet that shouldn't be? It doesn't slow the car down or anything like a real slipping situation would.
My car, a 2014 Prius TWO, was towed and recovered, but now the slip indicator light is always on (also the steering wheel is way out of alignment). Driving home, the car felt perfectly fine, except for the steering wheel being at a weird angle. What's going on? Can I get this fixed at a mechanic when they fix the wheel alignment, or do I have to take this in to a dealership?

View 4 RepliesAnyways, I was driving to school today. Going about 45mph on on off ramp that curves slightly when my Slip indicator light turned on and blinked maybe 10 times or so. I'm taking it to the shop tomorrow as the manual suggest. My car only has 7,500 miles.

I have Bridgestone Ecopia EP100 BL tires size 185/65R15 on my 2007 Prius that I got in 2010. Because of a nail in one tire I had to replace one of the tires two days ago. The technician said they did not have the exact same tire any more but he would replace it with something comparable.
The next day I drove 2 hours on the interstate and the slip indicator light kept flashing, it felt like the engine was revving a lot and/or the transmission wouldn't shift when I got to highway speeds, and it was a little scary. My first thought was something with the new tire since I had absolutely no problems before.
I've been having an on going issue where my Pirus will start beeping but there is no indicator light I can see showing any kind of issue. It will start beeping during startup and after driving for a while, no exact time something like after 25~30 mins. It sounds like the seatbelt beep but louder and both will beep when my wife does not have hers on.
I replaced the Aux battery(was old needed to anyway) with a yellow top but that didn't fix it. And again there is no indicator on the dash or display showing issues no red or orange triangles. Checked the prius's diagnostics but no codes appear under the diagnosis check I or II, sycheck mode or LAN monitor.
So I noticed this has happened a few times.. If I press on the brake pedal too hard, the indicator light will come on and then turn off a few moments after I depress the brake pedal. This has happened when the car is stationary as well as when I was coming to a stop, it's happened maybe 5 times since I picked the car up a few weeks ago. Is this normal behavior or an indication of a problem? Just an FYI, I'm not talking about when the indicators light up when first starting the car.. This is tied strictly to pressing the brake pedal hard.
View 8 Replies2010 Prius V owner as of last week. All has been going well and got into the car this morning and all of the above noted lights are on at start-up and stay on as I drive. Have made appointment with the dealer but they cannot get me in until late next week. I did make a short drive this morning and all seemed fine with handling and braking. Searched a few threads here and answers are very varied and none that I saw had all of above lights on. I don't think that it is the Hill Start Assist. Safe to drive until we can get into the dealership?
View 14 RepliesI have had no issues with this car of 120K miles until today, although my MPG has decreased to 35 MPG. The following lights came on with a loud beeping sound : Brake warning lights, malfunction indicator light, master warning light and the hybrid system warning light. These stayed on for 25 minutes and then went off. I drove 12 miles without any issues with all the lights and sounds beeping.
View 4 RepliesI just have my 2013 Prius C3 for two months and few days back I noticed that the Slip Indicator light blink a few time when I went through pot hole/uneven road (low speed, ~20mph). In the same time, I can hear as if there is a piece of metal sheet somewhere in the car vibrated. Is this normal?
View 10 RepliesMY 2004 Prius is acting strange and wont start this morning. When I opened the door I got a beeping sound similar to the sound when you walk away with the key while the car is on. When I pressed power, the power seemed to only partially come on, the screen did not power on, and every warning light is on including the red triangle !. The car would not activate past that stage.

I stopped at Advanced Auto for a diagnostic check. They said they couldn't be sure if it was a sensor, or maybe a wiring issue.

View 3 RepliesRefilled the wiper fluid on my fiance's 2011 Camry LE today and low and behold the ABS + Slip Indicator lights came on in the dash next time she started the car.
No codes are throwing from the ECU and it drives fine. Only thing I can think to do is Drive it full tilt and see if I lose the back end and/or try braking aggressively from 40+ mph. Just to see if the ABS/Trac Control systems are hosed. Don't want to go to the dealer to have them try the same thing and me pay for it...
I tried to entered my trusty steed this morning and it wouldn't unlock. Strange. So I took the fob from my pocket and hit the unlock button. Nothing. I was about to take the key from the fob when the door decided to unlock.
I sat down and put the brake in and pressed the button. Nothing happened! First time ever!
So I tried again and a beeping started and the parking button was blinking and a msg came up on the display computer saying that I needed to get to level ground and push in the parking brake.
I drive a 2000 VW Golf with 148K miles on it. One Saturday this summer my brake indicator light started lighting and beeping intermittently as I was driving. My brakes were operating fine so I did not read my owners manual until I reached my home. It indicated that I needed to have a qualified mechanic check it immediately but as it was almost 4 o'clock in the afternoon I couldn't find a mechanic in any gas station or garage. As I had a 200 mile drive to do the next day, I purchased brake fluid and carefully followed all of the directions for checking and filling my brake fluid.
However, when I took the cap off of the reservoir, the reservoir really looked fine and I was only able to add about a teaspoon max of brake fluid. However, when I tried driving the car, it seemed that the problem was solved as the brake indicator light did not come on again. Approximately 3 months later now the brake indicator light is intermittently going on again: about every other day. It goes on and then shortly after it goes off and then it doesn't come on again for a day or two.
Inasmuch as I added such a small amount of brake fluid last time I'm really not sure that the problem is actually with the fluid. I wondered if perhaps it was more of a vacuum problem or that by opening the reservoir some air escaped or something of that nature. I also wonder if possibly there's a component that's giving a false reading. At any rate, I'm a little white-haired old lady and there's a limit to what I can do on my car myself and I'm also a target whenever I go into a shop to get the most expensive diagnosis and fix. I'd like to go in to a shop with good information so that it doesn't become an expensive fishing expedition. What could be causing this?
This morning I was cruising down the highway with cruise control set at 63 mph. All of a sudden the car slowed down and the "Slip Indicator" was displayed and the cruise control was now off.

The Owner's Manual says: If the vehicle is in danger of slipping or rolling backward when starting on an incline, or if any of the drive wheels spins, the slip indicator light flashes to indicate that the VSC/TRAC systems are operating.
Luckily, it only happened once... otherwise, I'll roll back to the dealership in the very first day I picked up my car...
