Every time I get out on the driver side and close the door I get a big shock. It's strong enough to make me scared to touch the door. Now I close the door by pushing on the window. How to fix it?

View 13 RepliesAs of recent my Drivers Door seems like dead weight and is very hard to close compared to my other doors. No accidents or hitting anything. I checked the hinges and they are fine and the door is lined up perfect. Door is not rubbing anything either when its closing. All seems to be normal from inspecting. All the other doors are just fine. If I push the door with light force it comes back toward me.
View 14 RepliesSo last night, I went to close my car door and it just "Bounced" when I went to shut it. It did this a few times and then I got it closed. So I left it until this morning and now it won't close at all and just bounces. I believe the latch is broken. Any quick fixes to this?
View 2 RepliesJust recently I am having an odd rattle almost echo vibration when I close my driver's side door. I have tried it with the window down a bit and don't notice or get the noise. It almost feels like something is loose or being vibrated around and above the door.
I haven't had much time to look into it closely - It is pretty annoying!!!
My driver's side door's soft close function has stopped working. All other doors work fine. I have run it through multiple start cycles since this discovery and no change. What to look for or how to fix this?

View 1 RepliesI can't seem to lock my driver's side door via my key fob anymore. It locks all the other doors. When I press the lock button, I can hear the other doors lock and no beeping sound. There is a light blinking on my dash according to the manual the accessory mode light is blinking. I How do I shut it off? I've turned the car on by pressing the power button and pressing the brake then shut if off normally by pressing the power button.
View 6 RepliesI have a keyless entry prius and all my doors locks and unlocks just fine, except the one that counts. For some reason my driver side door won't unlock 99% of the time, but it locks all the time. To unlock my car I have to take the key out and manually unlock it.
View 1 RepliesMy fab works just fine (to unlock the doors) and I can lock the doors with the key. My problem is that for about 1 month, when I hit the lock button on the fab, all the doors lock but then the driver's door immediately unlocks. You can hear the doors lock, but then you hear the driver's door lock unlocking. I have to manually push the lock button switch (on the driver's inside door) to lock all the doors (and then the driver's lock unlocks, once again)... and then i manually push the lock on the driver's door. This is driving me CRAZY because basically I cannot lock the drivers door without going through this step. I have had the car for years and have never had a problem.
View 11 RepliesI guess it's more of an annoyance thing than anything else. When I drive I like to rest my knee on the this area where the window switch is. If I drive over a bump etc...this area squeaks. Is it worth having the dealer fix or will it just return.
View 8 RepliesAbout 3 weeks ago our Gen III (Prius III with Nav and Solar) began generating a single standard duration (maybe 1 second, similar duration to reverse beep) beep each time the driver's door is opened. It only occurs with the driver's door and happens whether the car is locked, unlocked, started or not. We had our reverse beep-beep converted to a single beep about 2 months ago and now this single beep is annoying each time we open the driver's door whether we are inside our outside of the car. We could not find anything in the user manual that described why this beep would continue occurring.
View 3 RepliesI can hear rattling coming from the driver's door at low speeds on uneven roads. At higher speeds there are no noises, it only happens at speeds of up to 50 km/hour. I removed the door panel and there are no loose parts.
View 14 RepliesI have a vertical scratch on the rear passenger door on the driver's side. When window is fully closed, the scratch starts from below the weather strip molding and goes up about halfway on the glass. It looks to me something inside the door is rubbing against the glass when it's rolled down.

View 2 RepliesWe have been tolerating a bad squeak in the driver's side front door upon opening, closing (any type of swinging of the door). Dealer tried lubricating it with no success. They told us that they would order a new hinge and "hope" that resolves it. I am a little worried about this. Would you trust your dealer to remove and re-install the door or just live with the squeak?

View 8 RepliesWe just upgraded our Prius from Gen 3 to Gen 3....a 2012. Great ride, just drove it from SoCal on a Sierra Mtns road trip, a little hiking and snowboarding for our spring break. What we failed to notice upon purchase was a passenger door whose controls want work! The drivers door can lock the car and operate the passenger window and lock. However, the passenger door switch won't open or close the window, nor will it lock the door. All other doors and locks work normally.
