How I can disable that annoying beep that occurs when driving over the speed limit? I've tried turning off the beep in the general settings that has not affected it.

View 10 RepliesI just brought home my new 07 2.0T Wagon and need info with the speed warning function. The dealer set it to 0.0 mph when showing me the car and now whenever I start the car and back up, drive away it says speed warning exceeded. I then press the OK button and it goes back to normal MFD mode. How do I disable or turn off the speed warning, I thought I did what the manual said but it will not go away (when I first start the car).

View 9 RepliesI've had my PIP for a week now My main complaint, so far, is the back-up beep, which of course does nothing for safety but distract the driver. On my 2005 Prius, which I traded for the 2012 PIP, I could go through a [somewhat complicated] procedure to disable the beep, but it doesn't work for the 2012. but any fix one can implement oneself? On general principles, I resist taking it into the dealership for the fix.

Is this too heavy meaning will the backend look too low while driving? Weight on all 4 (150lb approx) plus 4 people (350) is what worries me.

I had been driving for about 6 miles in 85 degree heat (after the car was parked all day at work) on the freeway at 60mph when the "check hybrid system" warning came on and my speed reduced to about 40. I pulled over and called a tow truck. After I was towed to a dealer about 25 miles away, the car started up without the "check hybrid system" light coming on. However, the check engine light did come on. My car is low mileage with only 31,000 miles on it.

This morning while driving, suddenly the orange warning triangle with exclamation sign in the center went on above the READY sign on the left side of the display. Car started to beep. On the right side, the hybrid system indicator menu disappeared, the the sign appeared saying KEY DETECTED IN THE CAR.
The car was running fine. It was going on for 2-3 min, then went back to normal. A few minutes later the same thing happened again. This cycle continued 5-6 times during my 30mi drive. I tried to restart the car at the traffic light, but that did not solve anything.
My second car key is with my relative out of town. Is this just the battery in the remote dying ( I still have the original)? Could it be something with the car? I am busy at work and would prefer not to go to the dealer now if not necessary, but will if I have to.
So my understanding is that the Gen II does not have a warning light that you have left your headlights on because they lights have an auto off after 30 seconds? Well one night in a rush I left my lights on for about an hour (they did not turn off) and I came out to a dead battery. I guess my question is: Do I have a warning beep that is broke? Or is my auto off feature broke?

View 17 Replies10 days ago I bought my '05 Prius to the dealership to get the Brake Recall fix along w/ an oil change and inspection. Since then I took a road trip and put about 1,000 miles on. Two days ago, when pulling up to my house, I got a beep and warning message, since I was home I parked and decided to worry about it later.
The next morning the car turned on but would not move (crawled a bit forward and reverse but was basically dead). I checked the meaning of the warning light and its the Hybrid Systems Warning Light. From the information screen it appears the battery is drained and therefore electric motor won't function.
Of course I'm worried its the expensive battery dying on me but would this happen all at once or slowly over time? Unfortunately I'm at 117,000 mi so the system is out of warranty. My next thought was that something they had with the brake recall may have caused the problem (though it would seem odd it'd take 10 days to happen).

View 14 RepliesSo, one of the features in late model Toyota nav systems is supposed to be the ability to have the speed limit displayed. I've come across a bug (admittedly, others have too in other vehicle forums) where the speed limit isn't displayed unless you set a destination. After you do, the speed limit for the road you're on will be displayed if you have it turned on in the options menu. If you reach the destination or delete the destination and continue driving, the speed limit will stay on the screen, as it should have been the entire time. Once you shut off the car and turn it back on, the speed information is gone again. Repeat the destination, then delete, and it's back.
I went on their website and reported the bug last Friday and got a call this morning from Toyota. They are having me bring my car in so someone can inspect it next week. The more squeaky wheels...
For reference, I have a 14.5 with the JBL and nav. I don't know for sure if other years are supposed to have this feature. I found the button in the options button at the top left of the nav screen. '15 Highlander people are having the same problem, and I'd guess the '15 Camrys are as well. I'd guess the software driving the units is pretty close to identical.
What is the procedure to disable the horn beep when locking the car (without using VAG-COM)?

Next time when turned on it behaved normally, but I am spooked that something major will happen. Owners' manual doesn't show anything. What is the most likely interpretation?
