Just got a Sonata. loving it ... One thing I was missing on the nav is the speed limit of the rood you are driving on. Is there any way to enable it? Also have there been regular/any firmware/maps update to nav and where to get them from and how to install.
View 17 RepliesHow do I set my navigation so when I am traveling over my speed limit it will show the current speed limit of the road or highway.
I use to use a after market gps years ago that would automatically show the speed limit of each road or highway I am on if I was passing the limit.
I was bummed that my 2011 King ranch F450 would not show the actual speed limit for the road I was on unless I had a destination entered.
I was trying to find how to delete an address and I stumbled on to the fact that on the "info" screen (an "i" with a squire box around it) showed the speed limit for the road I was on.
It's not a convenient as having it displayed on the map screen, but at least it is there.
My '15 sonata Limited w/ Tech package has been having some issues appear with the clock on the Navigation unit.
A few weeks back, I noticed that the Date/time display across the top of the navigation screen was showing May 28. When I dug down into the clock settings, it was pulling the date May 28, year 2035 from the GPS signal. Each day it would increment to the next day.
Then last week, the date and time would not load across the screen at all. Only the normal blue bar appears across the screen without any text or numbers.
With the Daylight Savings time change over the weekend, I tried to change the time on the LCD clock in the middle of the dashboard, the clock settings are grayed out and I can not change anything.
I already hit the reset button next to the knob on the dash, and also pulled the 15A fuse but neither one worked to reset anything.
I cannot get any sound from my DNS! Everything was working fine a few days ago when I turned off the audio system by tapping the Power/Volume knob. I tapped it today and screen comes up as it normally would but no sound. The volume is turned up to max. No sound in FM, Xm and no navigation instructions in the Navigation mode. It is as if I hit the "mute" but if I did I don't know where the mute button is located.

View 17 RepliesIt was below 0 yesterday morning and when I turned on the car the text which shows radio/clock/temp/etc did not appear. Just the blue highlight background with no text. Did not appear at all even when the car warmed up and has not appeared since. Everything works normally however (CD, Bluetooth, Radio)
Is there any option to reset the display? If not I guess I have to take it in... I have a 2011 Limited without NAV.
Is there a way to change the outside temperature info display from Fahrenheit to Celsius. I have a 2011 Sonata LTD?
View 20 RepliesI have a 2011 Limited Edition Sonata that I had for 4 years now. My audio system completely died. Does not turn on, thus no sound. Buttons don't work either.
On top of that, the display screen (that shows what track/radio station is playing, and clock) is dead as well. I checked the audio fuse, and it looks fine (U shape).
Before both went completely dead, it seldom came on but would die on me again. Now gone for good.
On our 2012 Sonata all stock, the radio display screen is far dimmer than the rest of the lighting. When putting the lighting at a safe level for night time driving (ie not blinding), the display screen is far too dim. In order to see it, the dash lights need to be almost all up.
Any way to adjust? BTW, the radio knobs and preset lights are fine. It is only the diplay screen. This is NOT an issue on our 2012 Tucson. That one works perfectly. I flipped through all the obvious controls and found nothing
I am talking about the manually activated EV mode, not stealth mode that runs up to 46 MPH.
View 10 RepliesMy 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited dimension radio (no nav or touch screen) is not working the display stopped working with no sound coming from the radio. It was cold one night and i shut the car off ran inside turned it back on and then came back out to start it and no sound then next day it came back on then shut back off. and no turn on 3 months later. I only had the car a year this Feb 2016 & of course they are saying nothing can be done. It'll be one thing if the radio just didn't turn on but my display is completely blank. No light no nothing. What was the result?

View 14 RepliesSo, one of the features in late model Toyota nav systems is supposed to be the ability to have the speed limit displayed. I've come across a bug (admittedly, others have too in other vehicle forums) where the speed limit isn't displayed unless you set a destination. After you do, the speed limit for the road you're on will be displayed if you have it turned on in the options menu. If you reach the destination or delete the destination and continue driving, the speed limit will stay on the screen, as it should have been the entire time. Once you shut off the car and turn it back on, the speed information is gone again. Repeat the destination, then delete, and it's back.
I went on their website and reported the bug last Friday and got a call this morning from Toyota. They are having me bring my car in so someone can inspect it next week. The more squeaky wheels...
For reference, I have a 14.5 with the JBL and nav. I don't know for sure if other years are supposed to have this feature. I found the button in the options button at the top left of the nav screen. '15 Highlander people are having the same problem, and I'd guess the '15 Camrys are as well. I'd guess the software driving the units is pretty close to identical.
How I can disable that annoying beep that occurs when driving over the speed limit? I've tried turning off the beep in the general settings that has not affected it.

View 5 RepliesWas bored one day and was messing around with the settings on my '12 F150, and somehow programmed one of my keys to limit speed to 80 mph and make me put my seatbelt on or its shuts off radio...i just avoided using that key...just had a remote start put in and now both keys do it..how do i de-program this feature?

I noticed it was lacking a little power one day and the next day a little more so,Then the third day I was heading out to the Doctor (50 miles away) I noticed the truck was slowly and gradually getting worse to where it was hard to even do the speed limit on the highway and the light started blinking so I headed straight to the nearest Advance and had them pull the codes and it gave us 172 bank 1 too rich and 174 bank 2 too lean I replaced the two top o2 sensors (advance sold me)same thing....... plugs, wires, coil, air and fuel filters are all new... checked the PCV hoses all look good, I'm a cancer patient and need my truck for Dr's and treatments and no money to randomly buy parts, I have seen people pointing to intake gaskets and isolator bolts... Does this motor have a track record of this being a common problem?

The reason why I'm asking is because once I turn off the A/C and wait for 5 minutes at idle, the cooling fan comes on by itself but the speed seems to be the same speed as when the A/C is on. When will it be low speed or when will it be high speed?

After many months of trouble free driving, the vehicle has stalled twice at low speed while making a sharp turn. Once turning right, once turning left. Once it was warmed up, and once it was cold. Starts right up again. The vehicle has had all current recalls/tsbs to date including the various steering items except the most recent EPS 143 notice that has no remedy yet.
I will be test driving it myself to see if I can replicate the issue. I am not seeing anything specific on the forums other than maybe the TPS.
