On my 2010 prius, I recently had my windows tinted. Seems I have lost the single beep when locking the doors. I still get two beeps when unlocking. I also get the double lock when I put the car in gear. But I am having no issues with any of the door locks sticking. smart key isn't working as it was. When I walk up the the drivers door, the inside light would illuminate, that does not happen now.

1. Is there anyway to disable that annoying honk when you lock the doors w/o a vag-com? I've searched but didn't find anything.
2. Need to know if the Golf R has the same suspension as this car? Obviously spring rates and specs might be different but I may get airbags for my current car and would like to take off the bags and put them on the R if I pick one up.

I'm pretty sure this is new behavior the past week or so. Whenever I open the door, whether finishing a drive or entering the car from outside, the car beeps once as if it is trying to get my attention for something. This happens when the car is off (I always press the power button before opening the door)
I do not see any warning lights or anything obviously wrong; what is the significance of this beep?
So, I noticed this morning that when i locked my Elantra from the key FOB there was no beep. There's a beep when I push unlock. Now, even those there is no beep the car does in fact lock. However, I SWEAR it has beeped when I clicked the lock button up until now. Is there something I may have done to cause it to stop beeping when locking?
View 44 RepliesMy car today suddenly will not "beep", nor will the lights flash, when I double-click to lock with the smart key. The smart key itself is fine, as it locks and unlocks properly. I know many people find the beep a nuisance, but I like it.
I just had my windshield replaced two days ago. Could this be the cause? Is it something I can fix myself, or will I need to take it into the shop? I'm hoping I can just quickly re-connect something that became unconnected during windshield replacement.
About 3 weeks ago our Gen III (Prius III with Nav and Solar) began generating a single standard duration (maybe 1 second, similar duration to reverse beep) beep each time the driver's door is opened. It only occurs with the driver's door and happens whether the car is locked, unlocked, started or not. We had our reverse beep-beep converted to a single beep about 2 months ago and now this single beep is annoying each time we open the driver's door whether we are inside our outside of the car. We could not find anything in the user manual that described why this beep would continue occurring.
View 3 RepliesMy fab works just fine (to unlock the doors) and I can lock the doors with the key. My problem is that for about 1 month, when I hit the lock button on the fab, all the doors lock but then the driver's door immediately unlocks. You can hear the doors lock, but then you hear the driver's door lock unlocking. I have to manually push the lock button switch (on the driver's inside door) to lock all the doors (and then the driver's lock unlocks, once again)... and then i manually push the lock on the driver's door. This is driving me CRAZY because basically I cannot lock the drivers door without going through this step. I have had the car for years and have never had a problem.
View 11 RepliesWe've had our '11 Prius II now for a couple weeks, and I have run into a problem I can't seem to figure out. When I lock the car, either using the button on the FOB or the smart key, then come back and try to unlock it using the smart key, it will lock the vehicle again. I have to wait a few seconds and try the smart key again and then it will unlock. I tried the search, but haven't found any thing describing this. Am I doing something wrong?
View 16 RepliesHaving issues with the rear tailgate door unlocking. Seems like mine on occasion is only making a noise but not unlocking completely and showing the door ajar light with the beep. When it happens, its a pain to get it to stop and close completely, or even open. I have to push hard on the door to get it to stop.

It doesn't make sense. Its in Park, the steering wheel moves forward, yet it beeps continuously if the door is open before you hit off like you left lights on or something.
I own a Hyundai Elantra 2015 SE, and was wondering if it has a door lock/unlock beeping sound. It doesn't beep at the moment when I lock and unlock it. I don't know if there is a setting or something. I've tried looking in the owner's manual, but found nothing.
I personally think it's a nice feature and would love to have it enabled in my car.
My question is about the sound when you lock the doors with the key fob - is it supposed to sound really weak and chirpy? It doesn't sound like when you honk the horn, it sounds broken but maybe it's supposed to sound like that I don't know?
View 5 RepliesMiss the horn beep on my Murano when I locked or unlocked the RX doors. The RX blinks it's lights and I guess there is a dash beep (which I can't hear). I read and read and read the manual but can't find where I can customize to get a horn beep.

For some reason now it locks the doors twice and no beep on locking. It also locks the doors twice whenever i put it in drive now also. Is this normal?
View 8 RepliesNormally when I lock my '14 'v' I touch the sensor on the drivers door handle and I hear the beep and the doors lock. Today I had one instance when I touched the sensor (bare handed) and the doors didn't lock and I got a continuous beep until I opened the door.
Checked and everything looked OK. All the doors were closed, etc. Tried it 2 or 3 times and the same thing happened. I finally gave up and locked it with the fob, which worked fine. The next time I went to lock it, several hours later, it worked fine.
I couldn't find anything in the manual that would indicate why I got this continuous beep and no door lock. Why it did this?
Ok so my v no longer beeps or flashes the lights when i lock it using the sks touch sensors or key fob. I just loaded up my prius v at my storage unit full of stuff to bring back to the house. It is packed to the ceiling. I had a small camping cooler at about ceiling height right behind the drivers seat on top of some other stuff. I thought if I drove gently it would be ok, well i stopped a little too fast and the camping cooler launched itself into the dash/center console, bounced off it and landed on the passenger seat.
I didn't see exactly where it impacted on the dash but there appears to be no marks or damage on the climate control or display audio. So the problem is now, maybe this just a coincidence, but when i lock the car from the outside using the FOB or the touch sensor on the door handle I just hear a faint click of the doors locking,(they doors still lock like normal) but no beep or flashing lights like before. I still get the flashing lights and beep sound when unlocking the doors. What I could have done?
The door lock light will flash constantly when are locked, it don't matter how i lock the doors e.g., key fob, front doors or rear door. i have verified that all doors are locked and the car beeps once when i lock the doors. how can i turn the door lock light off, permanently if need be.
View 2 RepliesWhen I lock my doors my factory alarm no longer beeps to acknowledge it is set. If I hit the panic button the flashers flash, but there is no sound.
Previously I would have to open and shut the hatch on my car periodically to get the alarm to beep, but that no longer works. I checked the central locking fuses and the alarm fuses (two 15v's buried under covers above all the relays). Those are fine.
If it were just the beep no working after locking the doors I would guess the hatch switch, but there's no sound from the alarm on panic (and the horn works fine).
Sometimes (but not always!) when I turn my Prius (2008) off and open the driver door, there is a constant beep. There are no interior lights left on. I think whatever I am doing wrong might be draining the 12v battery as it keeps going flat.
View 4 RepliesI'm a new prius owner. I noticed that when I'm driving and the doors are LOCKED the door will open if I pull the handle. Only the drive and passenger side opens when LOCKED in drive mode. The back two door DOES NOT open when LOCKED in drive mode. Is this normal?
