If you open your door just before you turn off the car, it dings until you shut the door. Why?
It doesn't make sense. Its in Park, the steering wheel moves forward, yet it beeps continuously if the door is open before you hit off like you left lights on or something.
So I have a 2003 vw passat glx and I just had a shop replace my heater core. Anyways I got the car back and now when the drivers door is open the inside light doesn't turn on. It does when the other door is open.. Also when I lock the doors via remote it doesn't horn anymore.

View 3 RepliesPower hatch stop working? I get a long beep and nothing. Won't open or close, it has to be done manually. My next oil change is in 1-2 months so I was going to have it looked at then by Lexus under warranty. Nothing seems stuck in the latch.
View 8 RepliesI noticed yesterday that when I push the power tailgate button on the dash to open it, it made a single beep and didn't open. I could only get it to open the tailgate after I unlocked the doors. I also noticed that the key fob wouldn't open the tailgate from outside the vehicle while the doors were locked. I never noticed this before. Is this normal?

The only issue I have (and I'm probably nitpicking). Is that I'll occasionally turn the car off (all accessories off, mind you), and when I open the Driver door, the car will 'ding' repeatedly. Again, no lights or accessories are on. I'm also not able to remote-lock the car after this happens.
The only fix I've found is to put the key back in the ignition and turn the car to accessory, then back to off...then the car doesn't 'ding' when I open the Driver door.
I have a 2010 Gx460. The rear door has now become locked shut and will not unlock. When I hit the unlock button on the door all I get is flashers with a few beeps. What can I do?
View 1 RepliesMiss the horn beep on my Murano when I locked or unlocked the RX doors. The RX blinks it's lights and I guess there is a dash beep (which I can't hear). I read and read and read the manual but can't find where I can customize to get a horn beep.
View 2 RepliesFor some reason the buzzer for when you leave the dash lights on doesn't buzz or beep. And since then there's been a clicking noise coming from the fuse box area while I am driving. my steering wheel controls and horn don't work for some reason but i found out that its fuse #5 so ill be replacing that, but why its clicking/ why my car doesn't buzz when the lights are on when the door is open? is it just a fuse? or an electrical gremlin?
also i installed a 7" monitor in my dash and for some reason it doesn't turn on and turn off with the car, my stock stereo did how do i get this one too. and is there a way to splice a wire so that the steering wheel controls will work with it? the audio store i bought it from said its a 100$ part for it to work. and another expensive part for my 6 cd changer to work with it.
Top of the back door is hitting the garage while opening inside the garage and getting all scratches, Is it possible to open it only 1/2 way as I can see that option in other SUV's but can't find any setting in the manual. Is it possible to do on 2013 RX 350?
View 1 RepliesI've had my 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited for one full year now and this is the first problem I've encountered, and its a strange one.
After parking and shutting off the vehicle (with the push button since I have the smart fob) if I exit the vehicle and shut the door the car will produce a loud BEEP for several seconds. If I look through the window, the screen on the instrument cluster will very briefly say "key not in vehicle" as if I had left the engine running, but actually the engine is off. The message goes away after a second or two, but the beep continues for a few more seconds.
After the beep stops, I'm able to lock the doors normally by pushing the button on the door handle or using the remote. It seems to happen about every other time I park/get out of the car, but it is random. The only pattern I've found is it always happens if I am in a rush. If I turn off the car, open and close the door quickly, it almost always beeps at me. But if I turn off the car, sit inside for a few extra seconds and THEN get out, it seems to be fine. What could be causing this?
Last night my headlights came on as soon as I pulled the door handle. They were left in the Tunnel position(as they usually are). The doors were locked when I left the truck. Keys in hand. I had been parked in the rain, for 3 hours. It didn't repeat this morning in the dark garage.(they didn't come on til I turned the key, as usual).

I'm pretty sure this is new behavior the past week or so. Whenever I open the door, whether finishing a drive or entering the car from outside, the car beeps once as if it is trying to get my attention for something. This happens when the car is off (I always press the power button before opening the door)
I do not see any warning lights or anything obviously wrong; what is the significance of this beep?
On my 2010 prius, I recently had my windows tinted. Seems I have lost the single beep when locking the doors. I still get two beeps when unlocking. I also get the double lock when I put the car in gear. But I am having no issues with any of the door locks sticking. smart key isn't working as it was. When I walk up the the drivers door, the inside light would illuminate, that does not happen now.
View 10 RepliesI just got myself 07 santa fe. Have small problem though. When I open the door interior lights are not going on, doesn't matter which door are open it is not working but I can turn them on manually, so fuse is fine I guess. What my be a cause of it?

My Coming Home and Leaving Home functions are turned off due to the HID Headlights, but the interior lights worked fine since the HID installation in 11/13. It is a 2013 Passat SE 2.5. Is there a setting in VCDS for the interior light function.
View 7 RepliesAbout 3 weeks ago our Gen III (Prius III with Nav and Solar) began generating a single standard duration (maybe 1 second, similar duration to reverse beep) beep each time the driver's door is opened. It only occurs with the driver's door and happens whether the car is locked, unlocked, started or not. We had our reverse beep-beep converted to a single beep about 2 months ago and now this single beep is annoying each time we open the driver's door whether we are inside our outside of the car. We could not find anything in the user manual that described why this beep would continue occurring.
View 3 RepliesI own a Hyundai Elantra 2015 SE, and was wondering if it has a door lock/unlock beeping sound. It doesn't beep at the moment when I lock and unlock it. I don't know if there is a setting or something. I've tried looking in the owner's manual, but found nothing.
I personally think it's a nice feature and would love to have it enabled in my car.
Now that I have the audio upgraded in my LS, we have uncovered a slight issue with the drivers rear door. The installers will work with me, but I thought there is so much knowledge up here, why not ask.
Everything else on the vehicle works perfect, its just this one door as if all the power is off or disconnected.(ACC or ON power it functions fine) I have checked the fuses under the driver side and the ones in the trunk, they are all fine and we took the front driver door apart to make sure any connections were good. everything seems secure, we even looked over the ECU in the door to make sure it didn't seem fried or anything, all functions on front and passenger doors are perfect.
Here are the symptoms: passenger rear door light wont come on with the door open unless the ACC is on. the other 3 turn on, with or without ACC.
The door lock actuator from the outside on this door wont lock the doors or with the sensing when you approach with the fob and grab the handle (as in the lights there wont light up).
The door closer that finishes off the door being slightly open wont grab and pull it in.
The trunk lights wont come on and there is no fuse or connection issue we can see. Its puzzling.
On Friday I opened the liftgate using the button by the driver side and it was normal. I pressed the same button to close it and I heard a crunch type sound and went back to check if the lock closed on something but it was all clear. I tried opening and closing again using the driver side button and the key fob and it makes the beep beep sound and it sounds like something mechanical is going on back there but the door doesn't move. The button in the glove box has not been touched and I checked the fuse compartment in the hood of the car and it appears to be intact.
Now the door won't open or close unless I manually open it and close it. After the beep beep the door sounds like its attempting to open but it just stays closed. And when I manually open the door and try to push the button on the door itself, or by the key fob or by the driver side button, it also just makes the beep beep sound and sounds like its mechanically struggling to do something and just stays open.
On Saturday I went up to the snow. It was freezing cold and higher altitude and as I was unpacking the back I tried to close the liftgate manually and it wouldnt even close. It closed a few inches and then it seems like the pressurized hinges got stuck. I eventually got it to shut but now I'm not sure if the problem is those hinges or is it something electronic or is the lock of that door just messed up somehow.
My Lexus RX 350 has a very low beep when I lock and unlock my doors. It was much louder before. I can only tell it's locker by the lights and not the sound
