I just got my 2008 gen 2 prius and I tried to charge my phone using the cigarette outlet in the center console. it works but the power seems to pulse. the light on the charger goes dim and bright like it is pulsing and my phone keeps saying power disconnected.
View 6 RepliesWhen I plug up my phone and charger cord to either power outlet on my 2009 Camry the fuse blows. The charger cord and phone works in my other vehicles. I have checked other power cords in the Camry and it also blows the fuses. Would this be a relay that controls the fuses?
View 1 RepliesI recently tried to use my ipod through AUX input. It work fine from battery but when I also connect it to the 12V power outlet, it makes static noise in the speakers. Apparently there is 06-07 ISx50 TSIB regarding this issue and the fix is to install filter to the line input.
View 14 Replies08 LS600hL. The cigarette/power outlet in center console shorts out instantly. I have changed the fuse a couple times. Tested several different plugs. The ashtray and rear console power outlets both work perfectly. Nothing else seems to have any issues, radio, windows, climate, etc.
View 4 RepliesI plug it into the outlet the connect to the car. The charge indicator lights up but 15 seconds later you can hear the charger click off. The light on the charger stays amber and not red. I've reset the charging unit and it is happening both at the outlets at work and at home.
View 7 RepliesHave a 2008 F-450 that I just got and the trailer light outlet does not work. There is constant power to one pin and nothing on the tail/turn/stop pins. I have checked all of the fuses and relays and they seem to been fine. And yes, I did a search and did not come up with anything.

View 10 RepliesSo the 12V power outlet (the one up front by ashtray) in my MK4 Jetta is not working anymore. There was a penny stuck in there and my dumb friend tried ramming his phone charging in anyways and it sparked and now won't work even though I got the penny out. I already checked and replaced fuse 41 and it did not do anything or look blown. Now, the fuse area is looks pretty gross and I'm going to remove it and clean it, but do you think there's maybe a short or something to do with ground since it sparked like that?

View 19 RepliesI have owned my Prius three, not III, for just over 2 years now. The first year I had no issue but now, when charging my iPhone 6, the fuse blows every 2-4 weeks. (My phone is the ONLY thing I ever plug in there). I finally tried replacing the 15amp fuse with a 20amp (I know, that's a no no). But I still blew the 20amp fuse now.

View 4 RepliesNoticed yesterday a slight whistle from turbo in my 108,000 mile MY2008 3.0tdi ( the engine is new at 90k miles, but the turbo was transferred over).
Its barely audible, a gentle whistle from about 1500 to 1800 rpm on moderate acceleration. It's then lost in general engine/ road noise. Car drives smoothly and pulls as normal.
Only noticeable on quite road surfaces, radio off, etc, and no more than I recall as standard from earlier turbo diesel Audi & BMW cars from the 1990's.
A quick on-line search indicates carbon build-up can be an issue? In the past few years my mileage has dropped way down to maybe 9k miles per year, mostly shorter trips & not as much higher speed motorway as previously.
If this is the potential end in sight for the turbo, can the unit be refurbished.
My headlights aren't that bright on my Lariat so I'm thinking about replacing them with after market.

View 11 RepliesI bought an '08 Elantra in October and I notice whenever I am driving on surface streets at night people are constantly flashing their lights at me as if I have my brights on. I don't. At first I thought it might be a coincidence and maybe they were trying to warn me about cops or something, but it happens way too often. On a 10-15 minute drive I get flashed 4-6 times on average.
I've started paying more attention to my headlights since I've realize they might have an issue and at first I thought they might just be too bright, but I do notice that I can see into the back of peoples' cars much more clearly than I can when I'm in other peoples' cars.
As far as I know they're stock headlights. Were they too bright or did they just need to have their angle adjusted? How hard is it to do that and is it expensive?
I just purchased a 2008 Toyota Yaris. The car is excellent with only one exception. When above 55mph, I hear a pulsing noise - a constant evenly spaced noise similar to an engine that is lightly revving on and off. If I take my foot off the gas, it goes away. Press again while I'm above 55mph, and it pulses again. I have no loss of acceleration, no bucking, and the rpm gauge is steady as she goes. It is an automatic. No noises or anything under 55mph. I'm perplexed.
