After reading up on things to do for maintenance, I've decided to replace my struts around the 95k mile mark.
While I'm down there, is there anything else I should replace/do while the wheels and struts are off?
I've read some people talk about replacing CV joints as a preventative measure, others about bushings but most seem content with just the struts.
Have 63,000 miles on my 2011 Sante Fe. Took it in for maintenance at the dealer in Connecticut and the mechanic said the struts are leaking. I took a look at them and did notice that they have more of a sweat look on them. Dealer is quoting 750 to replace. Sounds high to me.

View 2 RepliesMy R is coming up on 140k miles. The shocks and struts are pretty beat and it rattles badly. I'm really thinking about just replacing the suspension components with oe type stuff or is it really worth it to spend the extra money on a coil over kit? A little lower stance and some adjustability would be nice, but not super important to me. I'd have to get a lower end coil over kit too, so is it really worth it? Or should I just replace the stuff and be done with it?

View 2 RepliesSo I take my new (for me but used) 2007 F350 to the local Ford Dealer to have the oil changed, along with fuel and water separator filters. I even added some Archoil 9100 since it treated my 03 so well. Since I had no history of the last change I wanted to do it right away.
While its on the lift he notices a leak near the hydroboost. I think there on crack...but that's my opinion.
Anyways I look at it and I see a leak at one of the connections under the Master Cyl. Its the connection closest to the firewall. My question is there a oring in there that can be replaced or will I need to replace the entire part?
This is a 2001. I just changed the struts, and the ABS light is on. I'm assuming that I must have done something to the sensor, or the cable.
View 5 Repliesi am the original owner of a 2004 Prius with about 120k miles. I am considering replacing the struts even though they aren't horrible. I figure I won't have the car more than 240k miles so might as well get the struts on earlier rather than later so I enjoy them as long as possible.
View 2 RepliesI'm looking at replacing the struts and shocks in my 04 Prius. Last time I replaced them with some cheap KYBs I found on auto parts warehouse. I was hoping for an improvement over the old worn out parts, but didn't feel an improvement. Well after 5+ years and who knows how many miles I figured it was time to replace them again.

Needed for probably 4 years. Def. fixed some issues but I still hear rubber squeak when I turn corners at slow speeds. Sounds like something needs lube. Any thoughts? 2007 Prius.
What additional parts should I be replacing when I do this? Spring seats, bump stops, etc?

View 4 RepliesI need to get the part number of the wire harness connector that clicks into the right abs sensor connector. The code for the connector is A4 but I wasn't able to find any info about it online. This is for a 2009 Toyota Prius. car got into an accident and the wire harness connector was cut.

The metal key that comes out of the Key Fob is broken, is it replaceable from anywhere other than Toyota? The key fob is perfectly fine no issues with it.
View 1 RepliesI have a 07 prius with 60k Km. right now, everytime i go thru a hole, there is always a noise like something is loose. It also sounds like a rattles too. The noise seems to came from the front driver side tire (i have the right side driver japan version prius ). I assume it was the shocks / struts that needs replacement.

View 7 RepliesThere is moisture or dirt blocking the part of my settings display on my dashboard. I can't see the "Trip A/ Miles left before empty" area. Dealer said it was glue inside the dashboard. They ordered a new plastic window. I think it looks like moisture buildup... How would glue have gotten up there? I am fearful that the area will spread and I will not be able to see more of this area.... Car is a 2010 Model 3 with 12,000 miles.. 10 months old...
View 1 RepliesI noticed a 1'x2' square in the bottom passenger side corner of the radiator covered in green oily gunk. Ive had the 2008 for about 1000 miles (has 58k) so Im assuming its been there for a while. Seems like its impeding airflow. Its very green.

Is it possible to replace the bushings in the trailing arm or is it true that you have to replace the entire trailing arm?
